Light streamed through a window in his room as Charles was slowly awoken by the sounds of roosters signaling the coming of morning outside his window. The main thing thought that was going through his mind at this moment was that today was the day his mother would be taking him to live at the 'Gifted Academy'. The idea flashed through his mind as his large black eyes opened to the world. The idea that he would finally be around others as intelligent as himself is what truly had the young man excited. His mother had not exactly given him the full details of it at the moment, but what the young man did know was that he would be at a place where he could expand his horizons, and get an education that didn't feel like he was learning things he already knew. At the same time though, he had a feeling that she was leaving something out, but for once he didn't let himself ponder over it too long. It was simply that he found his mother’s excitement over where they were going to be equally strange.
He crawled out of the bed and walked over to the bathroom and flipped on the light as he let out a soft yawn. He felt like he was in a haze as stood there in the shower and a soft smile crossed his face when he felt the warm water run over his body, the instant the automatic shower detected him. He stood there for a moment before reaching out and pressing the button which turned out the cold water. The ice cold water that hit his body instantly snapped him awake and the young man found he could not say "WARM WARM WARM!!!" Fast enough. The change in temperature was almost instant, and soon Charles found his muscles relaxing under the hot water of the shower that poured down onto his body. Nothing could feel better than this, well at least nothing except getting to the school he was going to. He reached out his hand to a little dispenser on the wall and soap was squirted into his hands, which he slowly lathered up and smeared all over his pale frame. Stepping back into the water, he felt the slow movement of the soap as it inched its way down his body and into the drain. Charles sometimes wondered where the drains lead to, or what it would feel like to ride the drain to the place that it leads. The very idea made him laugh softly to himself in a manner that held a slight tone of lunacy to it.
He reached out again and got more soap and repeated the process with long black hair, which now hung around him and down past his shoulders and over his face. It was how the eccentric young man usually appeared, and some would say in enhanced his creepy nature in a way. Even though his creepy nature made him a bit of a pariah, it didn't seem to be something that Charles was doing on purpose, nor something that bothered him really. The only thing he ever expressed was a slight loneliness, but Charles didn't like the idea of not being able to be himself either. It was something that his mother had taught him well at least, though the effect on her son might have been the opposite one intended. Turning him into young man who preferred to be solitary scholar, but one could tell that it wasn’t completely that Charles chose isolation. He was just a shy person who had just never found there niche really. His mother had always been his closest friend, and when it came to foster the young genius… his greatest protector in making sure even if he was going insist on being shy… he at least keep his eccentric nature.
“Maybe though me… and mom will finally have a place to call home. She does kind of seem excited about where we are going.” He mumbled these words to himself as he got out of the shower and dried off. Walking back into the bedroom he walked over to the dresser and opened it deciding that today he wanted to look his best, which meant wearing his favorite outfit. Pulling it out of the dresser the young man moved slowly and with a certain grace that showed the value of the outfit to him. Putting on each piece and layer until it was all done, and then walked over to look at himself in the mirror. Standing there Charles was wearing a red suit jacket with a white ruffled under shirt, and black pants and shoes to match the top hat on his head. Reaching around the mirror he pulled out a black bow tie and placed it around his neck, not in the least bit caring that his clothes looked a bit silly, because of there out of place nature to the time period. He found the idea that types of clothes even had a time or place to be a bit of an outdated idea. Charles was also glad that he had packed most of things last night, and only a single suitcase of clothes was left… when he heard his mother’ call. The sound of her voice did always bring a smile to his normally austere features.
“Coming mom…!” Were the words that he yelled as he gathered up the very last of his items in his room. Bringing the blankets on the bed, and putting them away into the suitcase and heading down stairs and out the door of the house towards the car, “Don’t worry I don’t think we will be late to the school, considering that you did a good job in planning ahead.” Slipping his suitcase into the vehicle he gave his mother a hug, before saying, “I am ready to go whenever you are, though you have been being a little secretive about this school we are going to…Are you finally going to tell me, or am I going to have to keep guessing.” A Cheshire like grin crossed over his features as he tucked his hair back behind one of his ears revealing half of his face, and a raised eyebrow, but his voice was playful. Yet he found that even now no answer was given, which only made the journey ahead all the more interesting...

It was after quite a few hours of driving along that Charles finally realized that he had arrived at his destination, and it was not exactly what he was expecting. This was not a bad thing by any means, but it was simply that he had been expecting a school he had heard of. The location also seemed a bit out of the way for such an important Gifted Academy, though that detail was certainly one that Charles himself preferred. Given his shy nature, and his proclivities to be a bit eccentric the fact that they were out in a place that was near nature was good. It meant that he could take walks to think about things when he needed. Examining the building he found the design of it to be quite curious, but at the same time it wasn’t something that was creepy to him, and in fact was just another enticing feature. One had only to look at Charles style of dress to understand why having an academic experience inside such a building was very excited to him.
As he drove his care through the large open gate Charles, realized that he would first have to go and check in with his homeroom teacher. That was what the instructions that he had been given said on the pieces of paper that had come with his acceptance letter. Luckily for the young man, the administration building wasn't to hard to find, nor was a free parking space near the entrance. Charles had to admit that he was a bit curious about what made the school so different, though he had heard some rumors... he normally just dismissed such things as he walked into the front office, only to find no one was at the desk. Nervously he rung the small bell on the counter as his large dark eyes roamed the area, trying to see if get find someone who could point him to his advisor's/homeroom teacher's office.
