Ashford Redwand sat on the lakes edge watching the waves roll forward and onto the sand covered shore. he sat on a large boulder. His blacken hair was tied behind his face into a single tail with a silver ribbon. His hazel eyes hid temporarily behind lids as he blinked and inhaled the scent around him. He was waiting for the sun to fall, waiting to see..her. A smiled came to his lips as a image of her came to his mind. "violet" he whispered to himself. Such a beauty within a mortal form. her red hair and violet eyes suit her well. 'a heavenly beauty' he though to himself. He set his sword on the boulder next to him as he waited. He was a lowly knight amongst the rank of the royals, nothing more.

Violet made sure she was presentable for him, she ran down toward the lake. Her fiery red hair was pinned back in a half pony tail. She wore clothes she knew she should never wear as a princess, it didn't really matter. '' Ashford!'' The red head shouted as she looked around, she knew the council would be furious with her because she was breaking all the rules of being queen but she'd been on the thrown since she was five years old. When she needed someone to be there for her Ashford was, over the years feelings had developed feelings she'd been ready to explore for some time now. They had been explored, she was ready to tell everyone in her kingdom that she didn't want anyone else by her side so if they disagreed with what she was doing that was their problem.

He looked up hearing his name being called and ginned. He quickly got up and went to the trees and walked across the branch's till he saw her below. His eyes watched her as he landed below but behind her in a quiet landing. He grinned and wrapped a arm around her waist, his head leaning on her shoulder as he did so. "What brings a lovely vision out here at a suns end? such a princess should be at home in her chamber or frolicking with her lover' he said teasingly to her, as his lips found the side of her neck. He turned her around to face him, he grinned at her as he saw her face, his right hand reached up and caressed her cheek.

'' I'm following my heart.. We've been doing this for so long, I just want things to be official between us. Forget the council, whoever else disapproves. You make me happy, that's all that matters.'' Violet said as she looked up into his eyes, placed her hand on his chest as she stood up on her toes so she could kiss him. She didn't let the kiss linger very long she just wanted him to know she was serious, she really wanted him to be the one sitting next to her not some prince from another country or another kingdom. The fiery read head was someone who liked to rebel, if falling in love with someone she knew was slightly beneath her then it's how she was going to do it. No one could tell her what to do she was a grown woman, what she wanted she got weather people liked it or not. In the sense that she normally went for what she wanted, they couldn't tell her it was wrong or unethical or immoral . She could easily fire every single council member that questioned her judgement, she would do it in a heart beat if anyone ever said a negative word.

"I know my love, I know you want me to be by your side. The only ones I fear is your family coming after me, they have there ways but the council is a different story or I am there only guard now. They have gotten rid of all the others" he said to her his arms wrapping around as he looked down at her. A smiled came to his lips "I know one way to upset them" he joked to her, as he brought her close to him. He bent his head down slightly and kissed her lips, then grabbed her thighs and lifted her into his arms and he carried her to the boulder where he was sitting when she called out his name. He sat down with her still in his arms as he kissed her again.

'' What Family? My parents have been dead for years.. I don't know of any other family members.'' Violet said as she frowned slightly, when she realized that he had carried her over to the boulder she smiled as she kissed him back just cuddling against him. She could care less what other people thought, she would make sure that he was by her side no matter what. In all the time they had been together they never once slept in the same bed, she was willing to break that cycle she was ready to take things all the way. She wanted to carry his child, she wanted to be his wife nothing would ever change that. As she kissed him she slid her hand up under his shirt while he held her, started to rub his chest ever so gently. Her hands were like silk because she wasn't allowed to do anything it was all done for her, she hated it for the most part but her hands stayed soft.

He looked at her and smiled as he felt her hand on his chest. "violet, such a precious women you are to me.. a vision of beauty" he said to her as his eyes watched hers. Two strands of his blackened hair fell out of the tie one on each side, they seem to frame his face. In the dying light it was a bit eaiser to see every small battle scar that held onto his skin and neck. His pale lips parted into a smile to her as he leaned down and kissed her lips again.

Violet didn't mind his battle scars because she knew he'd gotten them protecting her, as he kissed her again she slid her tongue along his lower lip as she rubbed his chest. She was glad they could meet, this time she was willing to take him inside then to her chambers. But for now she was content with being in his embrace, she never wanted him to let go of her.

Ashford smiled at her as a hand reached up again to caress her cheek. "I have something for you" he said to her. He moved a bit to pull out a small bag "I crafted it myself the other day, its a promise to you that no matter what happens you will always have a place with me" he said to her smiling. He opened the bag and grabbed her left hand and slipped the ring and slipped it on her finger. "the center is opened so if you want to place a stone or me to find you one I can or if you want to place the violet gem I found 2 years ago and gave to you for a birthday present I can put it on there my dear princessa"

" oh Ashford it's beautiful." Violet said, smiled as she kissed him. " the violet gem you found would be perfect for it." She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissed him again. Her life had meaning when she was with him, he made her feel complete. All her life he'd been there for her, she was happy to know she always had a place with him.

"the two together both ring and gem would not compare to how beautiful you are violet, mu lovely goddess" he said to her holding her hand as he bent down to kiss her on her lips again. His kiss lingering like a lovers kiss, hidden with passion, love and lust. "oh I due have another surprise for you my dear its at the stables" Ashford had insisted of not being the council guard but the manager at the stable overseeing the royal horses. He stood up with her in his arms and placed her on her feet "She was just born this morning love to your Mare Heavens Bliss and the Stallion Silvertouch" He smiled at her and led the way to the stables which was not far away, once there he walked in and led her to the stall of Mares Heaven and smiled "Hey Little girl" he spoke and the fillys head popped out from behind her mothers rear leg and snorted. Ashford laughed "is that anyway to treat me young lady?" he asked he as she walked forward on still wobbly legs as ashford held out a hand to the filly.

'' She's beautiful, the white above her nuzzle is adorable. I'll call her Starlight.'' Violet said as she smiled she loved her horses, she loved to ride. It was a big surprise because she remembered being told that Heaven's Bliss couldn't have a baby, knowing that the royal vet had been wrong she just smiled. She danced around the stable with delight as she looked at the beautiful animal, it occurred to her that her people had been wrong about various things recently. The princess was sick of hearing lies, would certainly have to have a talk with the royal council when she got back to palace but she would make sure Ashford was included in the meeting.

Ashford smiled at her "I figured you would want to name her since this is your mares foal, well first foal she did excellent Bliss did. She did not even fight when I assisted her but Starlight shes got a kick ill tell you that" he said chuckling "she was coming out and I grabbed her forelegs and she kicked, got me in the bicep but its no worries it just means she is a determined little spitfire" he said to her as Starlight touched Ashfords hand with her nose and let out a whinny and kicked up her back legs slightly. "easy young one don't want to over do it now" he said to the foal which seemed to calm down by his voice. Ashford looked over at Violet and smiled then he saw the look on her face, his smile wiped clean off his quickly "whats wrong ?" he asked the look of concern on his face now.

'' I've been hearing lots of things from the council.. Things that don't sound right, the vet told me Bliss couldn't get pregnant.. Something about she was to old but obviously Silver managed to do what he needed to do, a miracle was born. But the council has well one member in particular who I plan on firing has told me quite a few things that just seem off, well it just doesn't sit right. I've asked several times how my parents died, no one will tell me the truth they all lie or beat around the bush. I'm not a child anymore, I really wanna know what happened to them.'' Violet said as she leaned against one of the gates, sighed she was sick of being told stories. Ever since she could remember the council treated her like she was a fragile porcelain doll, she was tired of it. It was time she knew the truth, she was hoping someone like Ashford could give it to her because she didn't wanna hear it from anyone else. She never slept because she missed her parents, she didn't know what happened to them because nobody would tell her all she remembered was being told to stay in her chambers.

He looked at her and nodded "I understand your frustration Violet I do but remember I am only 4 years older then you so I honestly its a bit blurry" He said to her "and you take a couple knockings to the head you lose memories" he said to her. He went to stand in front of her and kissed her forehead "honestly if a council member is not as you see fit then you have right to fire them, the others may argue but it is your land, your say so. If you wish I will be right there with you if you need me to be" he told her "I don't only love you but I pledged my life to you princessa and I will do anything to keep you safe and out of harms way even if it means myself being harmed" he said to her his hands were at her waist as he spoke "but lets hope it does not come to that because honestly Violet I see me and you growing old together, raising a family" he said to her smiling "but if you wish I will talk to my superior about what happened and let you know"

'' Right, I'm glad I have you by my side. I would appreciate that, well I should get back up to the castle. Talk to your superior, meet me in my chambers.'' Violet said as she kissed him, admired her ring. She smiled, left the stables dancing her way back toward the castle taking a deep breath as she walked up the cobble stone path that lead to the main gate. Of course the door was opened for her, she was ushered inside by her guards then she walked down the hall to her thrown room. Once there she called all the council to the throne room, sat on her throne with her hands folded neatly in her lap. She was going to fire the one that had been lying to her, she didn't care what everyone else thought because Ashford was right it was her kingdom there for she could do as she pleased with it.

Ashford nodded and smiled as he saw her walk off "have fun my princessa" he mumbled and walked off as well and to his superiors home. He made it here quickly and went to the front door and knocked hoping to get a response. He waited for a couple minutes then shook his head when no one came to the door "probably at the bar again" he said to himself and turned on heel and began walking back up the path to the castle and went inside, nodding to the guard all ready there. He walked inside and to the door of the throne room and went inside and stood in the corner like he always did when she called a meeting with the council, his hands folded behind his back as he stood straight. His eyes ever vigilant for anything out of the ordinary.

'' One member has been lying to me about various things, I would like that member of the council to step forward. I do not tolerate insubordination of any kind, lying is far worse then stealing or cheating in my book. The one that has been lying to me will be thrown into the dungeon, he or she will stay there until death takes their life. Now will someone Please tell me what happened the night my parents died?'' Violet asked as she held onto the arms of her throne, she didn't waste anytime she was going to get an answer even though she knew Ashford would try to talk to his superior she wanted someone who had been there that night to tell her what happened. '' I remember being told to stay in my chambers but that's all, I haven't been able to sleep ever.'' The red headed princess told her council, she hoped a guard or someone would step up to tell her what had happened that night because she was only a child.

Ashford looked until he saw one of the guard break formation and take of his helmet 'son of a bitch' he thought to himself. His superior walked forward and kneeled to her "your majesty I believe you are correct you need to know the truth and I will speak it" "The bloody hell you wont!!" a councilman stood and pushed down the hooded cloak he wore "to speak of it guardsmen will be upon death to you" Ashford growled and stepped forward from the shadows a hand immediately at the hilt of his sword. The superior stood up and looked at the guardsmen "then death it shall be but she is no longer a child and she should no long be ruled by a bunch over aged hot air windbags" the superior guard looked at her "Your mother and father fell in battle your majesty, we had a traitor among are guard ship from a rival kingdom"

'' Thank you. Now the one who threatened this man to death I do hear by Fire you! I want you out of the castle by morning, if you do not leave on your own the guard will escort you out. Also guards please take the liar to the dungeon, I believe I have a date with someone. '' Violet said as she stood up, winked at Ashford as she walked out of the throne room she didn't care if the remaining members of the council saw it or not. She reached her room, was undressed by her ladies in waiting then the pins were taken out of her hair. '' That will be all Thank you.'' The princess said as she ushered them away once they had slid a fancy night gown over her head then put her robe on her, they gladly left leaving her alone in her room as she climbed onto the bed waiting for Ashford. She would not be marrying the prince of the kingdom that she had her suspicions about, she looked down at her ring with a smile as she laid against one of the fluffy pillows on her queen size bed covered in the finest velvet.

Ashford grabbed several councilmen by there cloaks hauling them off. He placed them both in a chamber and was heading upstairs when he was stopped by a fellow guard "so what the deal ashford? you laying with the princess now?" Ashford rolled his eyes "cousin we have had this discussion before" the other guard laughed "I'm giving you trouble man" Ashford grinned "as always you big lug, just remember im the lover and your the fighter of us two" his cousin laughed "yeah yeah but if your the lover then why do you hold scars on your skin" Ashford smiled and started heading up the stairs "someone's got to cover your ass" he said to hi mas he disappeared from sight. He nodded to the ladies in waiting when he passed by them on the way to her chambers. Soon he arrived at her door and knocked before entering.

Violet smiled as she slid off her bed, walked across the floor in her bare feet. She didn't see the reasoning behind slippers, she opened the door with the same smile placed on her face. '' I'm glad you came.'' The princess said as she stepped aside, looked straight at him she was so happy he had joined her in her chambers. She would make sure he had purpose for joining her because this was going to be the night she gave herself to him, she believed she was really ready. No one could tell her how wrong it was, she loved him with every fiber of her body. Her heart belonged to him, he had belonged to him for quite sometime even if he was four years older then her she didn't care he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

Ashford smiled at her as he closed the door behind him "I came as you requested my princessa" he said to her and grabbed her wrapping his arms around her. He lowered his head and kissed her lips. After wards he looked at her smiling "My cousin is at watch at the end off the hallway so no one can enter" he told her. He smiled and saw that she was barefooted and smiled as he lifted her up from standing and into his arms and he walked over and sat down on the edge of her bed as he held her.

'' That's good to know. '' Violet said as she kissed him, she slid her hand up under his shirt rubbing his chest she started to tug at his shirt. '' You've done so much for me over the years, the ring made things official but I want to give you something in return.'' She said as she managed to remove his shirt, she broke the kiss so she could kiss all over his chest. This would be her 1st time, she was a little nervous but she was mature enough besides despite the fact she was still young she couldn't rule alone plus she couldn't rule for ever either someday she would have to step down but until then she knew this was what she wanted. She'd already had a special dress made, she planned on wearing it when she said her Do's but she didn't expect those to be right away, well those kinds of things took time.

Ashford raised a eyebrow at her when she told him she had something to give him in return. He blinked at her brazen action of her removing his shirt, exposing the pale skin with very little hair. His muscles beneath the skin twitched where she laid her lips on. His arms wrapped around her more as he moved and layed on the bed on his back with her sitting on his abdomen. He smiled at her, he reached up and ran his fingers through her red hair as he looked at her.
