She woke up to the sound of her mother moving around her bedroom. Even now, things didn't change. Her mother didn't think it necessary to give her privacy as was due to a guest in her house. But she was her mother's daughter, so she didn't expect much privacy to be given - even now. Morgan turned over in the bed at the same time her mom pulled back the curtains, baring her to the sun's onslaught.

She groaned and turned over, pulling the pale blue comforter over her head and groaning out an irritated sound at her mother, who grinned. "It's time for you to get up. It's almost ten and the reunion starts at twelve...in case you forgot."
Morgan exhaled heavily beneath the comforter, hiding her distaste at having to go. She'd rather staying in, away from people she knew she wouldn't recognize. And she wasn't particularly in a sociable mood today.

But her mother didn't care about that, and Morgan doubted she'd care if she knew anyway. She pulled the comforter from her daughter and peered down at her. "Get up, come downstairs and help me finish up cooking the rest of stuff. John's going to be here in a few."

Morgan blinked up at her. "John?"

"Yes, your brother." The woman added for extra measure, giving her daughter a quizzical look.

Morgan nodded and smiled a little, her mood somewhat alleviated by that bit of news. She hadn't seen John in years. Besides phone conversations, she hadn't had much contact with him and it would be good to see him again. She had felt like an only child living with her parents - which hadn't been too bad; more attention and gifts for her. It would be great seeing him again; even though she felt somewhat unnerved by the entire prospect.

She went to shower and tidied her room then met her mom downstairs to help with the cooking and baking. Her father was outside setting up the barbecue and two of her cousins and some family friends were already there to set up outside.

John stepped out of the shower in his hotel room and in to the steam filled air of the hotel bathroom. He stared at himself in the mirror for nearly a minute, as was his routine, looking over his physique and then looking deep into his own eyes. He'd lived abroad for over a decade and in that time he had filled his live with two constants - work & exercise.

His job as a consultant had paid him well, in fact too well for a 33 year old. His apartment in Hong Kong was quintessential bachelor, a penthouse with a view of the city and only a few steps from the city's nightlife; his house in northern Rome however was a tribute to his masculine side...a seclude spot on the outskirts of a national forest that he had build with his own hands, where his outdoorsy side was free to roam.

He'd spoken in front of 100's, to CEOs and to Boards and never been nervous, however, today was a different story, he had an endless supply of butterflies in his stomach, not knowing what to expect when he reunited with his family. Would he have to answer questions about his inability to 'settle down', his reluctance to return home, or his absence from several significant events in his immediate family's lives?

His mind ran in circles as he dressed, slipped on his Breitling watch and exited the room on his way to the valet to collect his car.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Morgan pulled the apple pie out the oven and set it on a cooling rack, placing a clean dish cloth over it to keep away the house flies that persistently buzzed around the kitchen. She wanted badly to close the window but it was hot inside and the thermostat had been turned off. There were people coming in now and there was a slight buzz at the back of her head from the excitement around her. Aunts and uncles, cousins - close and distant - faces that she had to plaster on smiles for. The aunts doted on how much she had grown. Her mother boasted of her graduating school with honors in her journalism course. She fought with her inner self not to make faces. Smiling hurt.

She wondered if John would really show up. He'd missed quite a family occasions he'd been invited to. Her graduation, to name one. But he was a busy man, she was sure. If he didn't show up today, she didn't think she'd be too disappointed - even considering the fact that she missed her brother. Her mom, though, would be very disappointed. She'd been talking about him since her last conversation with him. And if Morgan remembered correctly, her mother had planned this reunion with him in mind.

She excused herself from the small group of her cousins that had gathered in the kitchen to talk about trivial details about each other and went upstairs to change into clothes for the reunion. She didn't usually wear her glasses but she'd left her contacts at her apartment in her hurry to get out the house to her mother, who'd wanted her to stay for the weekend of the reunion.

She played with her hair, a bit unsure of what to do with it. But she pulled it back and up into an unkempt bun, tendrils and stray strands falling at the sides of her face. She went back downstairs and outside on her mother's request to help her dad with the barbecue.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

The house hadn't changed one bit, John noticed as we walked up the sidewalk. The siding was still a dull blue, the flower boxes still filled with forget-me-nots (his mother's favorite flower) and the yard still meticulously landscaped (his father's lone escape from nagging). The temperature increased as the sun moved higher in the sky and John opened a second button on his clean white linen shirt to dissipate some of heat.

John swallowed hard and turned the knob to the front door, he wasn't sure what he expected but when there was not a large cheer for his arrival a bit of disappointment leaked across his face. He walked down the hall looking into every room but to his surprise no one was around. Then, like a flock of birds, he heard a loud cackle come from the kitchen and knew that the Harper women must be congregated there.

John stepped into the doorway of the kitchen, a playful smirk plastered across his face, and looked in his mother's direction.

"What does your only son need to do to get some attention around here!"

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Mary had her back turned, tossing the salad when she heard her son's voice. She turned, at the same time the other women did who were chattering with her and a grin spread across her face as she set the salad bowl down and went to her son, hugging him tight and kissing his face.
"I almost thought you weren't going to come. I didn't hear a thing! Have you seen your father? Your sister? You're so tall and handsome!" She chuckled and the other women clucked their agreement on that.

Mary didn't have to introduce him to his family, she allowed them time to talk to him while she peered over his shoulder. "Still no girlfriend?" she teased and nudged his side. The women chuckled, some glancing at each other.
"Too bad you're family. I'd set Anna up with you," Patrice said.
"Mom!" Anna blushed at that, shrieking out at her mom and stomped out the room but only laughter followed her on her way out.

"So are you guys having your own party in here, there are people--" Morgan stopped as she entered the kitchen, seeing who had been the center of all the noise and attention.
He looked awfully different - obvious, considering the years she hadn't seen him.
"He's here," Mary said with a smile, as if that was apology enough for neglecting the guests on the outside. "Come say hi to your brother Morgan and don't just stand there."

But she was a little shocked, and couldn't move.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

John politely bobbed and weaved his way out from the mass of aunts, cousins and estrogen that had surrounded him just before hearing Morgan's voice as she entered the kitchen. The familiar sound softened his smile and John turned towards Morgan, anxious to see his little sister after the years.

He expected to be engulfing a glasses wear, braces having little girl with a hug but when his eyes finally focused on Morgan he couldn't help but stare. He'd heard lots about her from his mother and father but little, if anything, about what a woman she had grown up to be.

John's eyes roamed over Morgan's frame, soaked in her figure and noticed every little detail of her - her carefully painted toes, her tanned skin, the glasses, the gold earrings - all of it put together in painstaking detail but with a hint of disdain for the occasion.

John shook his head and snapped out of his trance, feeling a hint of embarrassment for the analysis he had just conducted. Not an ordinary analysis of a long forgotten sister but one intended for a woman John had spotted at a club...one that John planned on making his.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Morgan was still staring at him; noticing her, noticing him. He was so tall. She vaguely remembered much of his features from her younger days. She hadn't doted on her brother, nor had really clung to him while he'd been living there rather than for the occasional asking for advice. Otherwise, he seemed like just a family friend rather than a brother. She still felt familiar to him but she couldn't understand why she felt to be formal and shake his hand when she walked up to him.

She still felt awfully nervous and she felt overwhelmed by myriad emotions that she didn't even recognize and felt them to be absurd. But it was too much for her to fight the lone tear that leaked from the corner of her eye. "Oh, fuck," she cursed to herself. Mary scolded her for her coarse language but Morgan laughed, swiping the tear away quickly and she hugged him tight around the neck. "I'm not crying, ok? I had to do that. My left eye is a bit dry."

She let him go and looked up at him. She guessed she'd missed him that much - even without contact - to shed a tear. It injured her pride. She never cried much - especially not in front of others. But she hadn't been outright sobbing, so she allowed herself that one. "You look good," she said with a smile.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"Seriously, crying!?!" John mocked trying to get a smile out of Morgan, squeezing her back and then holding at arms length to admire her in a brotherly fashion.

"I mean I'd expect mom to cry, but you barely know me...." John paused awkwardly, not having any idea how to make small talk with Morgan.

"So..." this time the word hung in the air before John turned to his mother and started flattering her like only an only son can.

RE: Come Away with Me (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"Seriously, crying!?! "I mean I'd expect mom to cry, but you barely know me...."
She rolled her eyes and pushed back tresses of hair that created dark streaks across his frame, from hovering over her eyes. "You're my brother, you pig. It was a tear for both mom and me. She's too excited to cry. Don't you see? And I wasn't crying either," she pressed indignantly. At least she didn't think just a tear was enough for crying. She hadn't choked on any sobs, there hadn't even been a lump at her throat.

He was right about her barely knowing him. For some reason, that statement offended her, as innocuous as it was. It wasn't her fault that she didn't know him. It seemed he'd practically estranged himself from the family. Never showing up for anything - save for this. That was in the past however, so she'd no longer think back to it.

He stared at her and she half expected him to say something else to her. Like a "How've you been? What've you been up to?" but instead, he turned back to their mother and started talking to her. Doting on her. Okay, she thought. That was normal, he had more conversations with their mother but at the same time, she felt some pang of jealousy. It was silly so she ignored it. She wasn't a child, needing his attention. But she did want to talk to him. And after this was over, she was sure he'd go back to which ever part of the world his business was and discard them again, excepting when he felt like talking to them.

She came around and hopped up on a stool at the island, looking at him. "So," she started and with cool emphasis so that she could get their attention. "How've you been John? I'm surprised you actually made it here. Mom was a bit worried you wouldn't show. Are you that busy?" She smiled disarmingly.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

The sarcastic undertone in Morgan's voice was soothing, in an odd way, clearly a trait that had been inherited from their mother, as was the need to be a focal point in whatever conversation was taking place around her.

"I'm a man of my word" John's eyes locking on Morgan's "not that I'd expect you to trust me but...I am" the familiarity of her behavior helping to alleviate some of John's nerves. "And yes...I'm busy, but there's no excuse for my lack of attention to this family as of late"

John reached out towards Morgan's hand and lifted it softly above her head, rotating her on the stool from side to side and giving her an evaluative 'once over'. "So, what does a stunning young woman like yourself do to stay busy?" John's inner charmer started to emerge as he winked nonchalantly at Morgan before turning to his mother and giving her a quick nod, as if to say 'I haven't forgotten about you but let me take care of this situation first'

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

He was a man of his word? Morgan lifted a brow, studying him. Not many words he used then, she guessed. She opened her mouth to say it but quickly thought against it. It wasn't her intent to cause the lax atmosphere to somehow turn sour because of an ignorant comment. She nodded instead an shrugged. "Oh, so you chose not to come to my graduation, even though I invited you? And even though you had no excuse to not show up?" She nodded again slowly, as if making sense of that. That much she couldn't keep in, and it wasn't that she was mad. She just wanted to understand his entire reason for detaching himself. Surely, their family wasn't all bad, or too dysfunctional.

Mary frowned, glancing between the two of them, unsure of what Morgan was trying to do. She didn't want her daughter saying anything that could cause a shift of tension. He was here now, she just wanted them all to enjoy it.

Morgan stiffened on the stool as he turned her, afraid she might slip and tumble off since the seat was a bit wobbly and she was paranoid about that. "Stunning? Pshaw, you're too much," she smiled, managing a light blush that spread over her cheeks as she fanned off his compliment.

"Oh, she does a lot. She had her first debut last week on the news as an anchor for KTEX news. Plus, she's engaged. So she keeps very busy," Mary interjected with a wink at John, grinning from ear to ear; having no remorse that she hadn't allowed Morgan the chance to announce her own news. Morgan had intended to just shrug and say "Stuff.".
"Thank you mom, for telling my news for me."
Mary smiled sheepishly, but it didn't hide the unapologetic gleam in her eyes.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

The disdain that oozed out of Morgan thickened in the summer's heat and John's attemp at small talk went south. He hadn't meant to miss family functions but life was tricky overseas. Plus he didn't want to mention the issues that he had with his father, particularly given the fact that Morgan appeared oblivious to their past.

Mary had always played peace keeper, between him and his father and now between Morgan and himself. She was gifted when it came creating distractions and the news of Morgan's engagement was just that - a major distraction.

"Engaged! To whom? And do I get a chance to meet him?" John gave off a jovial front but in reality he was hurt, a bit by not having received the news earlier and a bit because he could sense Mary's dissatisfaction with only having one child engaged. "I'd assume he's here, after all I'm sure he's not the type to miss a family function". John could resist this last comment and smirked sheepishly as he looked over the ring he was surprised he had missed during his earlier evaluation of Morgan.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Morgan waited for a response to her question, but none came. The most John gave her was a thoughtful look. So he kept his response contained in the recesses of his thoughts. She huffed, she wasn't going to press about it. If he couldn't even try to make up an excuse then that was fine. Her graduation wasn't important to him. That was that.

"Engaged! To whom? And do I get a chance to meet him?"
"Well, his name is Jared Davenport. Wealthy guy. Handsome and such a charmer. The bees' knees if I say so myself. You'd like him John. He loves Morgan so much."

Again, Morgan wasn't given the chance to say anything. By this point, she knew Mary wouldn't give her a chance to get a word in. It felt like Jared was her fiancé. Morgan caught his glance to her engagement ring and she smiled. This time, instead of interjecting - like she always did - Mary turned to Morgan for her response. Only because she didn't know where Jared was herself.

"He had to go on a business trip. But, he promised that he'd treat mom and I to a dinner soon."
She looked up at John then hopped down off the stool. "Aren't you hungry? Why don't you come outside? Let's eat and talk some more outside." She came up to him and patted his stomach, her hand sliding down, glancing just over his belt then away from his body. "Come big brother," Morgan teased and started walking out. "You too mom, it's as if you've forgotten your guests."

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

John followed Morgan throught the kitchen and out the sliding glass doors that gave way to a large deck, now buzzing with humanity, where food and refreshments were plentiful. As he walk, at his mother's side and a few steps behind Morgan, he made menial small talk, mostly with his mother...

"Oh Mom, the house looks... ...where did you get that... ...yes, I've see a few... ...No, nothing to report on that front..." In the time it took to walk 50 steps John had become robotic, answering questions without words even registering. Mary, none the wiser, continued to talked

"Johnny, you remember blah blah blah blah"

His eyes roamed the backyard and he realized just how out of place he was. He knew no one, had little in common with anyone and already was becoming bored with the conversation. When a cooler, filled with beer, suddenly revealed itself on the far side of the deck John nearly gasped with excitement for something to help him loosen up, or numb the pain...at this point John wasn't exactly sure.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Morgan went up to their father, grinning up at him as she took a plate of barbecued ribs. She'd hardly eaten that week, so she'd take advantage of the cookout. John and Mary had been talking behind her but she ignored their chatter. Her mother would want time to catch up with him and she'd already interrupted most of it inside. Some neighbors she'd gotten the chance to interact with during the weekend at her parents made small talk with her and she looked over their heads, glancing John, standing by the cooler. By himself.

She frowned and excused herself from the small group with a smile and made her way over to him. He didn't look comfortable, and it would seem a waste if he came all the way here to spend time with his family but didn't enjoy it.
"John, you okay? Why don't you mingle with the crowd, get to know people. They don't bite."

She picked up a beer from the cooler and popped the top with the bottle opener that was placed on a small table beside the cooler. "Or do you want me to keep you company instead?" Morgan grinned. "Wanna sit somewhere?" she asked, looking over his shoulder for seats. There were two unoccupied chaise lounges by the pool. "Over there?" she pointed there and looked up at him. "I don't bite either," she teased. "Unless you want me to, so come."

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"I'm not sure I have anything to mingle with these folks about" John replied as Morgan's words churned in his head "so if your up for entertaining me that I'm certainly game"

He glanced over her tiny frame holding a plate full of ribs and smirked to himself, one of the few things he remembered about his little sister was that she always was quite the eater.

"So..." John chose his words carefully "...the fiancé is on a business trip, eh?" A hint of skepticism in his voice "and you dare to give me a hard time for not being around?" He lowered himself into the chair, his feet on the ground, torso leaning forward and arms resting on his knees with a beer held between them. It was often John gave someone his full attention but information on Mogan's fiancé certainly and monopolized his interest, even if it was for a reason he couldn't quite put his finger on.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"Yes. I do dare because he hasn't been gone for years with just rare phone calls when he feels like it. He also shows up to events when I ask him to. And if he misses it, he actually has a reason. Unlike somebody I know, but I won't call any names." She tipped the bottle and took a few deep swallows from the beer before setting it down on the cobblestones. Jared hadn't missed this because he wanted to. He was just very busy, he was a business man and had invested in some charity groups, and sometimes it required him to be gone for even two months. Even so, he made the effort to make time for Morgan and she was happy about that. She appreciated him for it. Even with all his business, he still managed to make her his most important priority.

John missed things, even without an excuse and while it got under her skin just a tiny bit, she couldn't be mad about it. He wasn't obligated to her in anyway. She was just his sister, and they hadn't even really been close, so there laid a reason in itself for why he wouldn't think it important to show up for things she invited him to. "But you're right, I shouldn't give you a hard time about anything," she said coolly with a shrug.

"What have you been up to anyway, how's business? Settled down with anyone yet?" she smiled. "I overheard when mom asked you about that, and you didn't answer. So tell me."

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"How's business?" He repeated while letting his thoughts organize in his head. "Boring to an outsider, I'd imagine...but entertaining. You learn quickly overseas that the life styles are very different for 'our' norm" John though back to the all night business dinners with in Hong Kong; to this day he still hand figured out if the woman serving food those nights were prostitutes or just loose, no matter to him...he'd always separated business from pleasure.

"You know the stories, about the nightlife in China's metropolitan areas, no?" He questioned Morgan before his mind wandered from China to Germany, recalling the near fist fights he witnessed in boardrooms and the bribes he'd been offered to help close billion dollar M&A deals. "There's always something interesting going on.

He continued to babble a bit, looking off into the backyard. "And no, no settling down quite yet...Haven't been lucky enough to find the right woman yet. We can all be as lucky as you Morgan". His gaze shift, his eyes eventually locking with hers.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

She would like to think the lifestyles would be different, considering different countries would mean different cultures, norms and social constructs. She nodded at that. China and Japan were two countries on the list of countries she wanted to visit. She adored the culture and people, their mannerisms - or at least the bulk of what had been projected through media. She had wanted to write an article about pop culture in Japan but she was just starting on KTEX, she'd have to wait until she was no longer considered a novice; until she was promoted.
"I envy you a little, with all your travelling. I'm still stuck in the office for right now but I hope that'll change. And yes, or at least some of it." She didn't really keep up with news of China as she did with Japan.

"And no, no settling down quite yet...Haven't been lucky enough to find the right woman yet. We can all be as lucky as you Morgan."
She laughed and removed her foot from her shoe, poking his leg playfully with her toes. "Don't be so ridiculous. Of course you can be. If you want me to stroke your ego and tell you, you're very handsome. You're wealthy. Eligible bachelor. It's far-fetched that the right woman wouldn't drop right into your lap. I'm sure you're lovable. You just don't want to settle down huh?" The sole of her foot was still against his leg, moving in a subtle motion up and down until she stopped and grinned at him.

"You're always so full of excuses, John." She smiled and dropped her gaze from his. Usually she could hold a stare but for some reason, his felt intense and it made her feel slightly uncomfortable; like there had been a ripple of sorts that moved through her stomach. She ignored it though. It was probably that feeling she got when she ate too much and made her uneasy.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

The touch of Morgan's foot on his leg lingered for a bit and John slid forward just a bit, reducing the distance separating them just a bit. "Well, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the right woman dropping down into my lap" pausing for effect, although not 100% sure Morgan was the right person to be making such a comment to. "Plus, it's tough finding my 'type' over there. Not a whole lot of All-American women roaming the streets of Northern Italy, you know?"

John reached into his back pocket a pulled out his wallet. He smoothly flipped it open, worked through the contents and pulled out a small picture of an elegant stone house sitting on a plot of land with rolling hills and mature forests as a backdrop. "See Morgan, I even have the white picket fence" his finger pointing to a fence running the length of the home in the picture.

His tone was wishful for just a bit and then quickly changed. "But I suppose you're right to some degree, there are still some wild oats to be sewn, mistakes to be made and fantasies....to...be..." John's voice trailed off purposefully.

"What about you? Awfully young to be settled down with a man that's constantly in the road, no?"

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"Well, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the right woman dropping down into my lap. Plus, it's tough finding my 'type' over there. Not a whole lot of All-American women roaming the streets of Northern Italy, you know."
She laughed at that and crossed her legs, picking her beer up from the ground. She emptied the bottle and played with the rivulets that had formed on the bottle from the condensation. "But look at all the variety you have. You're so picky. I think Italian women are exotic. Don't you want to get your share fill of different tastes? If I were you, I think I'd be settling down with one. I love their accent. And I hear they're pretty passionate in bed." She winked at him.

He came closer and when he took the picture out his pocket, she leaned forward and looked at it. It was a beautiful place. From just the picture she could tell the ambiance was wonderful; and such a lovely place to raise children. The yard space was big. "I do see the picket fence, that's a traditional touch." She smiled up at him and licked her lips. "Well it's good that you have everything set. That much I'm sure mom would be proud of," she said and patted his knee.

"What about you? Awfully young to be settled down with a man that's constantly in the road, no?"
She shook her head, "Not too young. I can live with it. Soon, I might be always travelling as well because of the demands of my job. But we do pretty well even with the demands of his job. I'm not frustrated, yet. Hopefully I won't ever be. Plus, I'll get to fool around if I want to." She smiled at him, a mischievous glint in her eyes before she burst out laughing.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

Variety was alright and John had experienced that, though he'd never admit to it, but now he was searching for more than just variety, he wanted something that satisfied his mental as well as carnal needs.

By happenstance, John looked up just as Morgan's tongue slid over her lips and then retreated back into her mouth, the moisture glistening in the sunlight.

It was that glistening that triggered his natural instinct. John's eyes deliberately rolled over Morgan's entire frame. First, admiring Morgan's, hair resting effortlessly on the slightly sparkling skin of her shoulders, then studying the appealing curves of Morgan's torso and before breaking away drinking in her smooth tanned legs dangling out of the thin fabric of the small yellow shed been strutting around in all day.

"Living with it seems like an less than ideal situation. I mean don't you ever just..." Moments passed as he searched for the right word "...just need touched"

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

"Living with it seems like an less than ideal situation. I mean don't you ever just...just need to be touched."
She looked at him for awhile, thinking about what he said, not that it needed serious mulling over. He was looking at her differently and she sank back into the chaise lounge, to put some sort of distance between them. She didn't know what it was but there had been this slight but building atmosphere that ebbed and flowed, but with the distance she now made, it still hovered.

Well, she was human. Of course there were moments when Jared wasn't there when she needed to be satisfied sexually. But there was nothing a little popcorn and a good movie - some nice, choice wine - couldn't take care of. She wasn't really inclined to take care of her own needs; she'd never been that aroused before. And she always felt embarrassed about doing it.

"I do but..." she trailed off and shrugged nonchalantly. "I can handle myself. And I don't mean in that way, just to be clear," she said, an inflection in her voice to emphasize her point. She was blushing and didn't know why. She suddenly felt awkward and lowered her gaze to her fingers, playing with her nails just to distract herself from looking at him.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

John grabbed the plate full of ribs she had taken, but not touched, and her empty beer bottle before standing up.

"I was referring more to the companionship, rather than whatever perverted things you are referring to...but either way - suit your self"

John started to saunter away, his focus leaving Morgan as he scanned the thinning crowd. He didn't know what time it was, but he could tell from the position of the sun in the sky that a couple of hours had passed during their conversation. He hadn't planned on, nor did he desire to be alone with only his immediately family and started planning his exit.

"Well, kiddo..." The term kiddo surprising even himself as he said it " it's probably time that I start saying my goodbye's. I don't know what your schedule is like but I'm in town for 2 more nights after this one, if you want to get a cup of coffe or something let me know." John looked over his shoulder at Morgan as he sent threw the empty bottle away in a trash can several feet away.

RE: Our Reunion (ctowb30 & Charlmeister)

She smiled at him when he basically called her a pervert. She maintained her demure composure. She had her inhibitions about some things, but it contrasted too much with her other thoughts. "Everyone has a bit of perversion in them, even you I'm sure." She knew he'd been referring to companionship but it wasn't her fault that her thoughts usually strayed into the depths of the gutter.

People were starting to leave and she waved goodbye to those who waved in her direction. She watched him walk away then lowered her gaze to her sandals, slipping her feet back in them and she took off her glasses, folding it in her hands and got up to leave the pool side when John came back to her.

"A cup of coffee? Well, I have a better idea, a proposition really. It all depends on your schedule." She shrugged and folded her hands in front her as she walked up to him, removing some distance between them. She hadn't actually realized how tall he was. "I'm off on two weeks vacation, and I'm planning to go to Maui. Why don't you come with me? It'd be nice to spend some time with you. And if you come, I'll forgive you for being such an awful brother to me."
If he said no, she doubt she'd be disappointed - but she would be at the same time. Plus, she doubted she'd see him until maybe another decade from now.
