Heath was sitting with his long time friend Fey, they had known each other since High School and now at the ages of 28 they were still very good friends. Heath had always had a crush on Fey but it seemed he was not her type, he was rather thin and dorky and she was exceptionally beautiful and always had the football players and other jocks chasing her.
Not much changed during college, he was always there for her though, the perfect guy friend, he would be there to hold her and pick up the pieces when her relationships fell apart, quite often when the jock cheated on her or treated her like crap in some way. He never understood it, she seemed to have so much going for her.
Not that Heath's relationships fared much better, it seemed he almost always picked some woman who unattainable maybe because he kept holding out for Fey to see him the way she wanted to see him, he knew it was futile but it was what his heart wanted.
He had so many insecurities though especially about his thin body, she had been with so many jocks! Deep down as well he didn't want to ruin their friendship by hitting on her, he loved her and valued their friendship.
They hadn't seen each other for a few months, work had taken him out of the state and now they were just sitting around flicking channels watching whatever was on and then changing again before it got too boring.
A show came on about female magicians, magic was something Fey dabbled in at one point, she tried being professional even, she was quite good at it too.
"Do you still think of doing magic?" he asked her.
