Prologue

The demons and other creatures, also known as Lost souls of the demon realm. Those were a reclusive and mystical races born during the waking of the world. They were among the oldest known races in Mareth (the biggest dark demon realm ). Theirs was a most ancient heritage, which had shaped them into a very self-sufficient and self-conscious people that often display strong streaks of isolationism. They had a long and fascinating history.

Prepared for what was to come. Most of the last year had been spent honing her body and mind to prepare for the challenges ahead. She was the Champion of Hallow. The one who would journey to the demon realm and guarantee the safety of her friends and family, even though she'd never see them again. The entrance of the cave gapes open, sharp stalactites hanging over the entrance, giving it the appearance of a monstrous mouth. She proceed alone.. she looked around, surveying the hellish landscape as she plot her next move. The portal was a few yards away, nestled between a formation of rocks. It did not seem to exude the arousing influence it had on the other side. The ground and sky were both tinted different shades of red, though the earth beneath her feet feels as normal as any other lifeless patch of dirt. She settled on the idea of making a camp there and fortifying this side of the portal. No demons would ravage her beloved hometown on her watch. She'd need to explore and gather more supplies to fortify it any further. Perhaps she would even manage to track down the demons who had been abducting the other champions or even meet at least one of he other champions.

Amy steps were really slow as she started to explore few feet away from the camp. She wasn't tall; around 4’9 and not heavy 90 pounds. She wore a body hugging dress in classic black, strapless and barely extending down to her mid-thigh stretch tightly over a nice, shapely butt. Plus, her tents outwards where a nice set of ‘beginner’s boobs’ .. Her skin was pale and practically glowed under the red lights of the sky; her shoulder-length hair was a dark golden brown with few darker brown high lights and her eyes were like melted dark chocolate. Her face was human in shape and structure, with light skin. It had a nice set of cheekbones and lips that have the barest hint of pout. She had flared thighs that sway to and fro, emphasized by her trim body, and her tight derriere looks great under her gear. Two normal human legs grow down from her waist, ending in normal human feet.

She set off in search of new horizons, setting off from camp in a completely new direction than she has ever tried before. Away from the parts of Mareth she has thus far discovered, much of the world seems to be a barren wasteland, making even the desert seem healthy and full of life. Her trip soon begins to seem unproductive, having found no new areas of Mareth or any contact with its inhabitants. She sigh and turn back towards camp. She was hopping to find at least on of the old champions. Her being in that forsaken realm mate her scared more than ever.

As the Champion would turn back towards camp she would find that a slowly began to seep in around her that covered even the ground as it started to thicken. Any sounds that had been in air and around grew silent, while the very eerie silence it created grew oppressive. By this point the fog would have grown so thick that the Champion would only be able see out about 10 feet around herself. It was a moment that seemed to scream ambush, but as the moments passed nothing would ever come... even if she advanced forward... the ambush that seemed lurking in the shadows never came. What the fog did produce was simply a soft humming sound that echoed across the desert, and softly advanced on the party with an ever increasing volume. The tune was a strangely hummed version of a marching anthem used by the Champions during it training, but it seemed to come down from the dunes in sound that was a very airy and soft almost childlike voice. Eventually out of the fog and down from the top of the dune in front of the warrior three small shadowy forms began to take shape as they drew closer and closer... and their features even more visible to the group. It was that of a young girl flanked on either side by two Siamese cats, humming softly to herself and walking down towards Amy with the animals like she didn't even notice the Champion was there. She seemed a bit out of place at first... and even more so once one got a good look at her.

The girl was wearing a black kimono that was decorated in pictures of soft white flowers, and crescent moons. While around her neck on chain was an amulet which was the symbol of the original five Champions. She had long black hair, and eyes that were black and slightly lifeless like soulless eyes of a doll, but at the same time it was a gaze that seemed like could stare right into your soul. Just her presence gave off that ominous feeling of an approaching ghost, but she herself simply walked along ignoring the world around her… until suddenly the child came to a halt a few feet in front of the Champion. Looking up the girl stared into the eyes of who she assumed was the person that she was looking for because of the symbols of her order. Her eyes lingered up and down the Champion's body before gazing back into Amy's eyes. After about five minutes of not saying anything the girl simply smiled saying, “Why hello there.” The oppressive atmosphere that surrounded her a moment ago disappeared almost instant as a pleasant smile crossed the girls face and the two cats walked over to affectionately rub themselves against the warriors legs. The sight of which caused the girl to laugh, “It seems they like you.” Giggling again she looked up at the Champion, “My name is Raef… What is yours?”

Silently a man watched the encounter, from his perch on a shadowy rock outcropping nearby. His presence was well hidden, from anyone below except for the cat that softly stalked up next to him. The Cheshire-esque creature was nothing but a grayish blue color with small green strips of fur everything now and then. The feline seemed completely emaciated as the outline of its skeleton could be seen on its skin. Speaking in a slow methodical and yet bored British accent it asked the man, “Is it really alright to let Fear play his games with these people Charles my boy. Someone could get hurt, especially your fellow Champion down there...” A much larger form stirred in the shadows behind Charles, as a very feminine snake like accent almost tried to speak, “I agree….” Though was cut off by the soft shushing noise that came from Charles unmoving figure, as he pressed a bladed finger to his lips, and continued to watch the events unfolding before him… and speaking in a playful yet a bit snake like accent, “Now don’t be sssilly everyone. He isss not going to caussse any problemsss… I made him promissse not to eat the sssilly girl, essspecially consssidering the plansss that we have made out.” Licking over his lips Charles Castex already had everything laid out in his head, and was simply waiting for the right moment to show himself in order to move forward with the negotiations.

Nothing, not a sound in all the land, save the crashing of the fog down from the cliffs, into a riverbed. Everything's rather peaceful, everything's rather silent. Like time had stopped for that second, where she stood steal. A strange emotion overcame the human girl; like someone was near. A Dark Joy overcame her; much as one feels when loneliness is eased. A spirit overcame her, too; and with it, she knew deep down that someone or something was reaching out for her. A slight breeze blew through the grounds of this realm, putting a slight chill to the warm air, but not enough to really be of any real notice. As Amy scanned the area around her, trying to find who was there. The soft light that could escape through the sand, cast it`s almost what appeared to be magical glow upon the earth and all that filled it. Though in retrospect, it seemed to give an almost evil glow within a dense grounds that gave way to a clearing just a few yards ahead. It was a from this area that a lone figure would emerge. In all reality this was probably not wise, as she did not know her way around these parts, due to not being familiar with this particular part of the realm. No matter. If she should find herself lost or in danger, she would simply track down any aura, whether it be a creature that resided here or even just a familiar object and follow it to find her way back. Her lithe form started to move forward slowly for a few more moments before she looked up and halted in her movements, when then figure stepped out;or was it figures.

She was wrong it seemed that not only one, but more where there. She saw the girl with the black kimono and she pause to admire the way it was made off. Though her present there let a aura that seemed peaceful in some parts and darker in another. After the girl greeting her, Amy raised her hand and waved at the girl, trying to forming a smile. "Hello... Reaf. I am Amy." she said with a soft tone as she kept gazing at the girl. She had originally planned on simply wandering about, not trying to find anything in particular. She gazed upon the girl that was called 'Reaf', with those amazing unique eyes. Those were eyes that no one would easily forget. It wasn't only the color, the melted dark chocolate, neither the change under the moon, to a different color. It was the shape. Big puppy eyes, with black eye lushes, and black outline. Those were natural, and could only be found among few of her family.

"I am just walking through trying to find any champions that may have survived this forsaken realm." she said and turned herself to the right, trying to have a better look at the others figures but it wasnt possible. But not everyone was visible at that point. With her turning point now, her back was reviled. Starting from her neck, going through her spine, and ending at her butt bone; were tattooed ancient symbols. They seemed like a mix of Kanji and Elvish. The color was in shades of white, and it was almost transparent to the eye. Then she would ask what was going on. "Are there any others?" she asked in an confusing way as she had a strange filling there were more around that couldn't be seen.
