Mylo drummed his fingers irritably against the scarred wood of the table where they sat, looking even more pissed off than usual under the lurid light of the dimly lit tavern. "You're sure about this?" he asked for the thousandth time, and it was more apparent now than ever that he was likely trying to convince himself rather than Argo. He had brains, sure, but smarts weren't what you needed to take down monsters. It would take sheer physical strength and a hell of a lot of elbow grease, and Mylo's lithe frame just wasn't going to cut it. And he knew it. Argo, the minotaur he'd come across a week ago at this very pub, was built like a tank. To say he was finely muscled would be an understatement; the dude was a slab of pure muscle.
Mylo leaned back in his seat, pushing away the blonde locks that had fallen across his forehead. "Okay," he said after a long moment, as if he had come to a decision at last. "Partners. We take this one down without a hitch, and we can take down any of 'em."
Sure, going after a nest of goo creatures was ambitious at best, and at worst, stupid, but Mylo and Argo were newbies at this game. Go big or go home - so went the mantra of the Gorgon's Head tavern. Postings went fast, and the only reason this particular hunt hadn't yet been claimed was because of how dangerous it would be. They would need to prove themselves if they ever wanted to get out of the kiddie pool. Mylo was strategic, though, and paired with Argo, he really felt they had the potential to succeed, even if he had his own reservations about the minotaur.
