History- Quincy Vale was once your normal High School Nerd, with glasses, book knowledge, and even played D&D with his few friends. Then one day in his Sophomore Year, he awoke with magical powers. At first, life was golden, for his eyes were fixed, he was stronger and faster than before, and he was able to be popular by doing a magic act in the talent show with real magic. This bubble of time was spent abusing his new power for self gain.
It ended in tragedy, for his casual abuse of magic let a demon track him. Attacking him at home, Quincy desperately tried to hold it off, protecting his mother and sister. But the demon was slowly overpowering him, and death (or worse) seemed certain. Then his father came home, and with instincts from years in the FBI, and the desperation to save his family, Quincy's father jumped upon the demon, shooting it in the back several times. The demon, aggravated by the 'petty mortal weapon', grabbed Quincy's father and shoved him into the floor. Before Quincy could do anything, the demon disemboweled his father. Enraged and despairing over his father's eminent death, Quincy shoved every bit of magic he could grasp at the demon. A cacophony of fire, lightning, ice, and wind surged out of Quincy, making mincemeat of the demon. Ignoring the obliterated demon, Quincy rushed to his father's side, desperately apologizing for every argument he could remember. Ignorant of the tears streaming down his face, Quincy plead that his father live, to hang on so that the medics could save him. Quincy's father died in his arms before the ambulance could arrive, his last words becoming Quincy's motto.
Desperate to make sure that what happened to his father wouldn't happen to anyone else, especially his mother and sister, Quincy began training with his magic as best he could, far from home, usually while hanging out with his father's partner, in whom he confided everything. Fixated on tackling such criminals, Quincy eventually created his disguise as the Dragon Mage. Dragons were magically powerful, territorial, and notorious for destroying those who attacked their treasures. Quincy felt a kinship for these assumedly make-believe animals. But with the reality of his magic, he's unsure of what is and isn't fiction anymore.
Nowadays, Quincy spends his quiet time creating or running websites as a freelancer for hire 'at-home', while actively looking for criminals to take down in costume. He has connections through FBI agents his father worked and was friends with, particularly his father's partner Victor Serge. He also has mild connections to corporations through the websites he runs.
