Outnumbered – Alex cursed his luck. This part of the city was abandoned, he had no idea that so many beasts could be lurking with in. The revolver in his left hand first off a few shots, the bullets piercing an arm of one of the shambling corpses, the zombie giving out a low groan as his arm hung limply. Vampires sometimes delved into necromantic arts, the shuffling corpses of their victims making good bodyguards and ways to deal with stray hunters. Alexander knew that he was talking into the den of the thing, but he had still timed everything right... Or so he thought. He aimed another shot as he blew a hole in the same zombies chest, sending the thing to the floor with a wet thud. Even then, it was ten against one, and he knew that the vampire was watching from the shadows, laughing as the hunter became increasingly cornered.

Clad in light armor, Alexander had his hair tied behind his back, his chain armor hidden under his shirt – which was somewhat in tatters as he ducked away from the raking claws of one of the walking corpses. He was already bleeding from a few bruises, and he retaliated against the walker with a quick slice of his blade, shearing into its skin and cutting through muscle. Even then, he was outnumbered and he knew it.

Timber was out flying when the mumbling and groaning of the undead caught her attention. Looking down she watched as a horde of zombies surrounded what looked to her to be a plain human but upon further decent and a better glance the human seemed to be putting up a hell of a fight but with no avail. Finding who was responsible was easy, she could smell the blood dripping from his recently used fangs, hiding away in the darkened trees where they were invisible to the human eye. She landed close by before changing transforming back into walking form. She was sitting next to the vampire, watching on while her legs dangled over the trees branch. It was a warmish night, warm enough to wear shorter clothing(Something very rare considering most nights become cold). Timber was wearing a light cloak, hood up while the rest of it draped over her body while the front stayed open enough to reveal a short, tight fitting tank and shorts that could easily be mistaken for underwear where as her 'companion' wore what looked to be several cloaks and a mask.

"You make me feel naked you know that? Its warm! Geez." She began, turning to the red eyed vampire who continued to chuckle at what was unfolding before them.

"Father called you Severus. Il take care of this." She began again, her voice changing from the slightly annoyed playful tone to something more serious. With a small complain filled grunt the vampire was off, flying towards the large castle that they stayed at. Once he was out of sight she jumped down from the tree and began walking toward the hungry horde and helpless human. She was chuckling, something rather psychotic before reaching them. Clicking her fingers the horde instantly began to sink back into the ground with their lasting groans. Standing their, in the open with a sinister look on her face while her eyes slowly returned to their vibrant green.

He was a bit weak from the fight, blood dripping from his wounds but he fought on with tenacity nd vigor unlike normal mortals. His blade kept some of the undead at bay, and he was carefully counting his shots... Three left before he’d be out of ammo and had to reload. But as he backed into a wall, he realized that his options would be woefully few. With his back pressed against it, Alexander focused and aimed at the closest zombie. Firing a barrage of shots, only one missed as a gory hole was blown into its head, and its shoulder clipped by a bullet. It stumbled, still good enough to fight as he cursed. Lashing out, he reversed the hold he had on the pistol, slamming the butt of the pistol into the wounded zombie, and carving his blade deep into its chest as he kicked the blade off. ‘One down... Can say I died fighting.’ He muttered darkly to himself.

As he faced the crowd however, he was ready to break out or go down tenaciously... But then he heard something. A chuckle or laugh? And then... The zombies fell, the earth swallowing them whole. That meant someone had commanded them, or had killed the vampire controlling them. Pausing for just a moment, Alex was soon reloading his pistol, making sure to be ready for another fight just in case. “Who’s there?” he asked curtly, pistol trained on any shadows that moved. He was hurting but wasn’t going to go down passively, and until he saw who it was, he was wary. It could easily be the vampire moving in, wanting the ‘honor’ of killing a hunter himself.

"Please, please. Put down that shiny object your race call weapons. I have no reason to harm you for im the one who saved you human." She wondered closer, her steps crossing over each other as she came in meters of the man. There was a single light above the wall that he was backed up againsts, its luminicty now enough to show her appearance and dark features. Unlike other vampires she was extremely pretty, some mistake her for being the demon of lust instead of a normal vampire with the occasional added advantage.

Crossing her arms over her breasts she contined. "Now move along, my brother will return soon." Timber told him, using her hand to motion a 'bugger off' movement. Timber then began to walk off, heading away from where she had come from. She wasn't planning on returning to their castle, or the area that surrounded the castle. "You can thank me later. " She added with a devilish chuckle, her back facing the man that she had just saved.

“If its no problem to you, i’ll keep it trained where it is. On a potential threat.” Alex spoke calmly as he began to take a few steps back once she began to advance. He had a guess as to what she was, and he wasn’t going to put his guard down if she wanted to advance and get close. “This weapon can still wound you, and I can still kill you.” His voice was firm and cool, he wasn’t one to mince words or make himself look to be weaker. “As for your brother, you’re luck its him I want and not you. If he comes back, i’ll simply kill him. I’m wounded, not bleeding out.” He’s been in... Well, Alex would not say he’s been in more complicated situations, but he’s been in worse situations. He still kept his gun trained on her as she turned her back to him, eyes briefly scanning to see if her so called ‘brother’ had returned. She was different than other vampires, but he wasn’t taking that for granted.

She stopped where she was, turning her head to look back at the injured man. "Kill me then, i'd be better off." She chuckled again, winking once before fully turning around to face the man once more. "Find him you will not, he's a dick that prefers to hide and watch instead of getting his hands dirty." Timber told him, her voice suddenly turning cold and blunt leaving room for obvious speculations that she disliked him. "What are you doing out where anyway human? These parts are rich with the undead, anyone will tell you that." She contined on to question the man who was still on edge. She wasn't exactly threatening, her appearance matching a young women with just darker, colder features and smoldering eyes. She had nothing in her hands, no bag or pockets to hide her own weapon in but then again, she was a vampire.

Hearing that she’d be better off h almost took that as a challenge on her part. However he kept his cool rather than take her up on her offer, his revolver lowering just a bit and kept trained off of her. “What am I doing here?” His voice as cold. “I’m all too aware that there are undead and vampires out here. I’m a hunter. Your ‘brother’ has a habit of raping and claiming the lives of virgins, and i’m here to put a stop to that.” his free hand sheathed his blade, holding his side for a few moments as he felt the wound there ache in slight pain. She was a vampire and a threat, but even unarmed he could fight a vampire, a gun with special bullets and a sword or at least a dagger would put him on good footing to fight her.

"So that where he keeps disapearing off to?" she asked in a questioning tone before shrugging. "Go ahead, he'll be at that massive castle right up there. You can see the roof just above the tree lines." She pointed to the dark looming figure in the distance. "There will be more of us there though so best of luck. If you kill him be sure to give me a heads up and il come and thank you instead." She finished with a nod, returning her hand to cross over her breasts. She disliked her family, she disliked her race as an all and wished for herself to be a normal human like the on standing infront of her but instead she was sworn to never see the world while the sun was still around.

"If there are others there, obviously it would be suicide for me to enter." Pausing, he looked over his wounds and gave a slight sigh. "Is that what you want instead of slitting my throat yourself?" The Hunter asked. "And if not, what is your purpose here? Do you have nothing better to do, vampire?" Alex was angry of course, this vampire mocked him, insulted him and took away his rightful kill. And he felt he had every right to hate and distrust her for what she was.

"Ah, smart and no. I have no interest in killing you, like I told you I saved you." She said bluntly before growling a mumble. "Were not all the same geez." She began again turning back around and heading towards the populated city. "I have no purpose except escaping that hell hole." Timber told him, looking back once before walking off towards the city.

She was soon to reach its gates, entering it with her hood up, covering her face and dark complexion. Entering the city and finally being inside its walls she found a hotel and stayed there, watching on as the sun began to rise from the safety of the room.

Alex was silent to her words. He had nothing else to say, trailing off as he entered the city through a different gate, keeping his guard up all the while. Night was soon fading, he was hurt, and the chance to rest and recovery was too great. Of course, fate had a different set of plans as he drifted through the city and arrived at an inn that had just given a room to a certain black haired woman. He decided hunger beat his want to bandage his cuts or even sleep. He was down stairs, eating a plate of meat and pancakes, a mug of bitter brew next to him, the coffee strong.

Timber had made herself at home in the inn, her room giving her a clear view over the forest while keeping unwanted sunlight out. She had now buttened up her cloak, letting it cover her slim body and covering her head. She needed to eat but.. in the area she was feeding would leave her with men banging at her door. Leaving the room she locked the door behind her, venturing down to the taven that took up most of the bottom level. The whole room smelt of booze and sweat as the day became a swealtering hot. She sat at the bar, ordering a glass of whiskey and a raw steak, cook only on the outside. It soon arrived and she began to dig in, sucking on each piece of meat before devouring it. All while being completely unaware of the hunter that ate his breakfeast a couple of meters away. Her cloak left her with a suspicious ereeyness about her, it covering mose of her body now that the sun had risin.

His wounds still hurt, but he otherwise ignored them as he ate and recovered some of his strength and also relaxed – better than starving and trying to focus on his wounds while distracted. Despite looking banged up he ate with politeness, though did look at other as they ate... Eventually his eyes turned to a woman at the bar, eating a rather undercooked looking steak. The entire place smelled of liquor, cooked meat, and the slight scent of sweat from others – so he began to look for higher ground, moving to sit not too far from Timber as she ate, kipping onto a nearby bar stool.

Timber's green gaze looked over to the man that had sat at the bar as well. There wasn't anyone else there as the bartender assisted the man with his order. Something about him looked off before realising who it was by the scent of blood on his clothing. Sniffing the air she sighed deeply as if enjoying the smell of blood. She licked her lips, the steak obviously not satisfying enough. This would be a problem for her, lack of energy was almost certain death for a vampire wanted dead by every living thing. Pushing the plate away as if finished she skulled the rest of her re-filled drink before returning the glass on the wooden bar heavily. She soon stood, wiping away the excess liquid from her rosy red lips. Reaching into her pocket she placed the required amount and turned to leave. Flicking up her hood to hide her face while turning to get a proper glance at the human who decided to sit near by. If he was to turn and look at the girl he would notice her smile and the sharp fang that pieced over her lip. It would be a quick and devilish smirk, one that could mean almost anything as she turned around and made her way up stairs.

He finished his meal with a hint of ravenous delight at it all, enjoying the fresh food and feeling his mood increase as he ate – a good meal did have a way of making him just a bit more approachable. He missed having a good cooked meal, and as he finished of his coffee he heard the heavy clink of Timber’s drink against the bar, looking in her direction. Was that... He cursed under his breath, eyes focused on her as he began to follow. Or at least he assumed it was her, his mind still fixated on the vampire who saved him. Should she not have been back home? He’d follow her, and if that was her, perhaps that was her game for him, to chase her like cat and mouse... Except she wanted the mouse to do the chasing.

She retreated to her dark room, all the lights were off and the cutrains closed shut allowing little to know light into the room. It was perfect for her and she thrived in it. Shutting the door behind her with a heavy thud she took off her cloak and placed it on a chair that faced the bed. SHe was now dressed in her tight fitting, cropped tank and those shorts that hugged her legs. Everything was dark, there was a rule against were white as it was seen as some kind of holy colour and so vampires worn only the darkest shades. The human was an interesting character, she didn't think that he would be so quick to follow her up the stairs and into an concealed and unknown area where they would be alone. She could kill him, ambush him and suck his blood for a proper meal like most vampires would but instead she returned to her bed, sitting on the end with her hands in her lap.

Once he was up the stairs, he knew that was her. Who else could it be? He was a bit more alert from the food, and as she retreated into a room he began to approach it, one hand pulling out a silvered knife, the other holding his revolver as he began to approach her door. He pressed an ear to it briefly, noting the silence and other lack of sounds. Giving a short breath, his hand with the knife moved to the door, opening it slowly before he rushed in, gun trained on anything that moved, and dagger held ready to stab and tear into her should she advance on him. His eyes were cold, focused only on making sure she wouldn’t get the drop on him. He would figure out her mystery.

With the door open light from the hall way spilled into the dark room, luminating her dark figure as she sat at the edge of the bed. Using her powers she waited untill he was inside and slammed the door behind him, returning the room to its darkness. Her eyes became a bright red as she did so before returning to a green with a sigh.

"Much better." She commented, turing to look at the alert and somewhat skittish man that a knife and a gun. This made her chuckle as she stayed seated. "Can i help you?" She asked, she knew that his curiosity would lead him here but he did infact just barge into someone elses room. What if it was someone else who occupied it? She was very still, her movement fluent as she moved the hood from her head and brushed her hair behind her ears while waiting for a response.

Quite well aware that it could have been anothers room he crashed into, that was a risk he seemed prepared to take as he laid eyes on the briefly red eyed woman. “I want yo know what you’re doing here, and why you helped me.” He spoke with a calm voice, his gun lowering as he trained it off her. Of course he was still prepared to open fore and slit her throat if she attacked him... But he still felt wary that she allowed him into her room so nonchalantly, so he didn’t trust her intentions yet. He began to advance, carefully stepping forward as he trained eyes on her.

"What I'm doing here? I could ask you the same question human. But being the kind soul I am I shall tell you. I plan to reside here for some time until I figure out what I'm doing." She said, standing slowly with her arms crossing over her breasts. With a tilt of her head she continued on "Unlike every other vampire in this god damned city I choose not to kill those who don't deserve it. Although thinking about it know, I have plenty of reason to let you die. Be thankful." She chuckled, blinking slowly with her laminating green eyes staring into his.

“What i’m doing here should be obvious, apparently the same as you except I know what i’m doing. Home is simply too far to travel to tonight, better to get some slepe here.” As she looked at him and spoke, he found her words hard to believe. “You do now, do you? I did intrude on your room, but I have reasonable suspicion to do that.” he said with a hint of disdain. Her eyes were actually beautiful though, and he couldn’t help but return her gaze.

"Suspicion on what? Me being a vampire? Oh i hate our reputation." She rolled her eyes turned around to walk towards the covered window. The room was still almost completely pitch black although his eyes would have adjusted to seeing the outline of her body if not more and her eyes. Once there she stepped away and slowly peered out and the busy streets of the city. So many unsuspecting people unaware of her presence. If they knew she would be hunted down and killed within an instance, she knew this but took the risk anyway.

"Do i really look at bad? I saved you didn't i? Cant you just be thankful for once?" She questioned turned back and walking to the bed, once at the end she took a seat again, running her hands through her hair in a obviously annoyed movement.

“Few would cry if a vampire was slain. Hell, if they knew the truth I could probably sleep, eat, and have all the harlots here I wanted for free and non would bat an eyelash.” he spoke a bit glibly, but it was the gods honest truth, creatures of the night like her kind were looked upon with disgust at best. As he adjusted to the dark, he followed her as she moved even as he lowered his weapon. She was not attacking, and that was enough to intrigue him right now. “Not many of your kind ‘look’ bad, isn’t that a benefit for you though? To lure people and make them unsuspecting. I want to know why you saved me however. Is that not an unusual thing?”

"Very few indeed, our own kind would laugh at the death of another." This was also true, they had no funerals or tomb stones to mark ones death but instead the occasional party to remember good times but even those were hadly a 'family function'. She sat herself up, turning to look at the man who seemed to be so interested in knowing infomation rather then killing her, it was a first to say the least. "For some, although not all look as 'normal' as i do. I guess its genetics just like for humans." She shrugged, she looked like her dearest mother, but held her fathers fierce and famous gaze. "Yes and you should be THANKFUL. I would be killed, my bat wings hung up for show if they found out. I simply have no interest in what my kind does, i dont want to be apart of it and would much prefer to stop it."

“Some would say its a shame that your kind hardly cares for itself. Makes it easier for me to hunt your kind down though when you’re all infighting and couldn’t care less about outsides.” Though of course, he realized that even then he was usually picking at the fringe less powerful vampires for the most part. “Genetics and how you look for humans aren’t determined by being changed into a monster. As for you being gutted and shamed in death, that wouldn’t be such a horrible shame, but...” Some of his anger felt forced, and he slowly began to put his weapon away completely. “Why do you wish to stop it? She was making no sense to him – what was her reason for this? He had a guess that she wasn’t lying, but that would mean actually believing her. “What do you gain from stopping it?”
