She just sat there in the old church she was christened in, shaking violently, she had never felt this out of control. Her shaking though was more from pure rage than fear. A concerned nun approached her and asked kindly if she was ok, she ignored her, not wanting to speak, not entirely sure if she could speak anyway, she did know however that she did not need anyone's company right now.

How did it all go so wrong? She kept replaying the events of the night in her head, over and over, looking at it from every possible angle she could think of, the truth of course was obvious, they weren't prepared, they lacked training for what was a military operation, it was nothing short of Urban Warfare and although her and her friends had fared well the first few months of operations, they had never encountered a fight with a large group before, they had picked their victims carefully stalking their targets until they were alone or in smaller groups, waiting for the right moment where they couldn't possibly lose.

Well, they had obviously created a name for themselves, the monsters which had been moving into the town were used to a certain level of abuse but they weren't going to allow themselves to be picked off by a bunch of amateur monster hunters, they must have set a trap, it was the only thing that made sense to her.

She thought about it again, trying as hard as she could to see it clearly. The Hunters as her gang called themselves were made up of 6 people, Alexis her girlfriend, tall with dark hair and soft lips, Mary the youngest of the group and somewhat innocent blonde, Mary was only 18, 10 years younger than the rest of The Hunters, Rachell who used to work as a manager for a security company also blonde and Lou the Amazon as they all called her, tall with a large bone structure and quite fierce, then there was Cindy the red head, they had only just accepted Cindy the week earlier into their group, not much was known about her as she was very quiet. And lastly there was herself, Caitlyn, her nickname in the group was "Runt", standing at 5ft nothing and weighing in at 95 pounds she was tiny and her weapons at times were bigger than her, but what she lacked in stature she made up for in courage.

They had planned a raid on a Vampire nest, yes you heard me, they exist didn't you know? Anyway Vamps had moved into an apartment building and had evicted all the humans, well most of them of course many they ate before hand. They did their research and it seemed there were 4 Vamps living there, not too many, well as far they were concerned anyway. So they made their plan, raid the apartment, kill or "dust" the Vamps, rescue any humans and leave. Simple? Right?

So they spent the evening feasting as they usually did before a mission and then she and Alexis went off to make love, this mission seemed different, there seemed a foreboding feeling that ran through them all. A heaviness that was never there before hand. They just saw it as nerves and brushed it off like hardened warriors would. Except they weren't hardened warriors, they were a rag tag team of women who patrolled the streets at night ensuring safety, they were hacks, pure and simple.

They tooled up with their cross bows and stakes, bottles of holy water and holy water grenades that were nothing more than balloons filled with holy water and went on their way.

Arriving at the apartment in the seedier side of town they entered through the front door and saw a Vamp, a young boy on the stairs, he smiled at them before running upwards, not thinking the group gave chase only to find that once they were on the next floor and in the lift lobby where the boy had disappeared 8 Vamps appeared from the apartments, they were boxed in, surrounded, not as ready as they should have been with their weapons, Alexis was killed first off as a Vamp pounced on her, he ripped her throat out as if it meant nothing at all, Rachel was next as another Vamp a fat middle aged female grabbed her and drained her neck of blood within in seconds, finally Caitlyn managed to get off a shot, she hit and vaporized the Vamp that killed Alexis, she didn't have time to think about the deaths of her comrades, they were down to four now, the Vamps pulled back and the Hunters re grouped, getting in close together, then a howl was heard, they looked at each other, 2 werewolves appeared from a room on the left, the Vamps were just the first wave, the 4 remaining women moved back slowly towards the stair door they came from, the wolves moving in ever closer, they each fired a shot but it was pointless, they were tooled up for a Vamp mission not WereWolves!

The Wolves pounced before they could reload and only Caitlyn could make it out the stairdoor, running down the stairs hearing her friends scream as they were eaten alive, there was nothing she could do for them.

So she ran, ran until she got to the old Church she had spent so much time in as a child. And she sat and thought and in her own way prayed that somehow everything would be ok. And she got angrier and as she realized that all of this should never have happened in the first place, that the Government and their weird experiments had started all of this, she became more and more fierce and less inclined to care about the consequences. In her 28 years of life she had never been more angry or defiant.

She stood up and looked towards the heavens.

"I hereby give a part of my soul to any entity whether it be good or evil to help me train and beat these monsters once and for all, I Caitlyn O'Dowd swear it!" she announced as the nun blessed herself and scurried away.

Caitlyn herself then blessed herself and walked home, drank half a bottle of whiskey and fell asleep fully clothed on her bed. She had, had more than enough for one night.

“I was really hoping that this place would have been just a little bit better decorated. Ah, well… what can you expect from these carbon-based, descended from apes, life forms. Knowledge of Feng shui? Out of the question,” said the woman who was standing near Caitlyn’s bed. In the darkness of the room, not much could be seen of her stature but what the moon-light allowed. But if all the lights were on, one would be able to tell that this woman had dark brown, verging on black, curly hair that fell near two inches past her shoulders. She had pale skin and dark brown eyes that matched her hair in color. Her lips were full with a perfect cupid’s bow, and at the moment they were colored in a dark red that was a strong contrast to her skin.

Presently, she was wearing a plum colored button down shirt that clung to her curves and complemented her figure. She wore this over a black pencil skirt that came to her knees. To top it all off, she had 4 inch heels on her feet to improve her normal height, which was 5’ 4”. All in all, she wasn’t a chore to look at, pretty easy on the eyes actually. But the manor she held herself signaled that there was something very unstable about her, and to keep away.

Her red lips part and an irritated sigh escapes as she looks down at the sleeping girl with a bored expression. “Alright, time to get up,” she decided, and with a quick wave of the hand this ‘Caitlyn’ was tugged out of bed and thrown against the wall right next to it by an invisible force. Just as this force seemed to pull away and the girl would most likely fall to the ground, the Woman was there to replace it with her fingers curled around the girl’s throat.

“Yes, hello, nice to meet you. Do you remember that thing that you did just a couple hours ago? In the church? Vowing a piece of your soul to anything willing to take it? Well it must be your lucky day! Because I’ve come to collect! Now to be honest, you wouldn’t have been my first choice as ‘Willing victim of the Day’, but my superiors came over to me and said ‘You know Archie, I think we’ll have you take this one. Now go down there and take one for the team!’ You have no idea how annoying that is.” The fingers around Caitlyn’s throat tightened as the irritation on the woman’s face became clear.

But she was quick to lighten her hold on the girl when she gave a slim, forced smile. “By the way, I’m Arcadia. Nice to meet you. I’m the Demon that has come here to take a part of your soul,” Arcadia held out the hand that wasn’t currently pinning the other lady against the wall.

When Arcadia didn’t get the hand shake, she frowned deeply, “Well I suppose if you aren’t going to be courteous…” Her words trailed off as she lunged with her empty hand into Caitlyn’s abdomen, grabbed something, and pulled. It was just a swift yank, but you could see the momentary strain of the task written all over the demon’s face. Soon her hand was being pulled out of the girl and a small glowing ball of light could be seen in Arcadia’s hand. It only lasted a short amount of time until this little glowing ball of light seemed to be absorbed into Archie’s skin and seeped into her veins. There was a flash of light before Arcadia let out a contented sigh and released Caitlyn.

“That makes everything better. Souls always gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling when being absorbed, what about you?” Arcadia grinned slyly as she looked down at the woman before her, feeling her connection to the little ape already. She hated doing this, she really did. Being stuck following around some ditzy bimbo who didn’t know which way was up, while Arcadia could be doing so much more… Like reading 50 Shades of Grey to the Pope.

Caitlyn was having the sweetest dream about making love to Alexis, she was exploring her body with her tongue and massaging her large breasts waiting for the moment when Alexis could no longer tolerate the waves of pleasure and would pounce on her face riding it as if her life depended on it.

Oh how she loved that part the most, Alexis grinding into her, her soft lush labia spread over her lips, as Caitlyn would suck and lick happily feeling her lover tense and spasm.

It all felt so right and so good she could swear she felt herself leave the ground, she was floating in space, mmmm yes, floating and now, now it seemed Alexis was grinding so hard that she had difficulty breathing, oh you go girl, she thought, Caitlyn didn't mind a little bit of pain mixed with her pleasure, it just seemed to excite her even more.

But wait, she felt something hard against her back, she really couldn't breathe now, "Alexis" she tried to call out, "You're hurting me now, stop" she tried to yell but it wasn't really coming out.

Finally she woke up, in a mix of depression for realizing her lover really was dead and in shock, she was pinned against the wall by this woman, well she thought it was a woman, she, it, was telling her that she came because of what she did in the church, because of her decree, her offer, she never thought that would work, but if this thing was here to help why was it nearly killing her?

It's name was Arcadia, it was offended that she didn't say hello, well excuse me Caitlyn thought, this is not how I am used to meeting people!

Then this Arcadia put a hand inside her and she felt a fiery stabbing sensation as it entered her and then she felt somewhat emptier when she pulled her hand out, it seemed that a piece of her soul really had been removed. What had she done, was she still dreaming.

She managed to answer the demon at last "I'm Caitlyn, I never expected my offer to work, what kind of demon are you then?" she asked.

Arcadia had started walking around the room after letting go of the girl's throat, she looked over everything with the glazed expression of someone who didn't want to be where they were. "What 'kind' of Demon am I? Well lets just say... I'm an Angel that did not so much as fall but 'saunter vaguely downwards'." Quoted Arcadia from one of her favorite books; Good Omens written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Man, did those two hit the nail right on the head, must of had some insiders information about our lot. She was soon pulled out of her musings quickly as she remembered that Caitlyn was still in the room. "So why exactly did you call for Our help? Couldn't handle the world outside this apartment, is that it? There is a lot worse things then Vampires and Werewolves out there, I can tell you that. Demons, for example!" Arcadia turned with a flourish while holding up her arms as if she had just finished a stage performance, but then her arms fell back down to her sides.

"Anyway, I am at your service... For the moment. And don't you start thinking that little piece of soul of yours will keep my contract liable for long. Sooner of later you will have to pay a little more for my services. Either that, or I kill you. Because, frankly, I don't take kindly to having to follow around Humans and do whatever they say. But we'll get to that later," said Arcadia, stepping close enough to be able to reach out and grab a lock of Caitlyn's hair from behind her ear and play with it between her fingers. The Demon gave a grin that seemed to stretch across her face while something in her eyes implied that no matter what, someone was going to get hurt.

"What is it you want me to do? I'm all yours." The words came out sweetly, and it was hard to tell if the sincerity was real or fake. In her mind, it would be easy enough to eradicate those vampires and werewolves that had so conveniently popped up in the city only a few hours prior. She had been hoping for some other challenges and this seemed like grunt work, yet it might be nice to take a little mid-night stroll. This all depended on Caitlyn though, Arcadia recalled how much they favored their sleep. Also, would it be required that she stay around this girl at all times? Or could she possibly pop in and out at the girls behest? Neither seemed particularly appealing to the demon, but, such was life.

Caitlyn caught her breath, she was kneeling now and facing the floor, she was listening to this Arcadia creature stalk around the room and quote verses from Gaiman, great she summoned a Goth Demon, what else was going to happen today that would be just totally fucked up she wondered.

Arcadia as she called herself asked what sort of help she was seeking when she bequeathed a piece of her soul, to be honest she didn't even know, one of those things you do when you have just lost your lover and friends and was lost in a world gone to shit all by yourself, did she have a plan? Fuck no!

"I didn't have a fucking plan, I didn't even think about consequences or even thought for a moment that it would work and I would end up with some fucking discount demon who drew the short straw in whatever demon world it came from, I didn't think about what I was getting myself into or how long it would last or anything, Ok?" she was pissed again, yes this demon could kill her, rape her, ride her into hell, so fucking what, if she had nothing to lose than she would say it like it was.

"So, since you are fucking here and you are fucking mine you can tell me how to fight these monsters, you can train me in tactics and strategy and you can help me kill these ghouls all night long. And if that bores you then bad fucking luck cankles" she snarled looking down at Arcadia's rather thick ankles.

It was only now that she started to see the Demon properly.
