Huge, Intricate Story, Multiple Characters, Word-Building

Hey there!

This post is about the Plot. The next post is about the Characters.

This thread is for you if:

It should be noted that I won't get angry over a few mistakes here and there. I make mistakes all the time. In fact, there are probably a few mistakes in this post all ready.

At any rate, on to my plot!

There is a single person known as the Oracle. The Oracle for all intents and purposes grows up as a normal person, except for strange colored hair and eyes. They are born with pink hair that slowly matures into red, and for their whole life their eyes remain orange. After a number of years unknown to even the Oracle, they experience an event know as the Burning. They literally burn, turning to ash, being reborn as a young infant. While this happens, they spout out a prophecy, one that to this day has never been wrong.

Magic used to be prevalent in the world. Three hundred years ago, a comet called the Chatterer flew close to the planet and absorbed most of the magic from the world in an event called the Chattering. Magic is now spread unevenly by those who practice it, divided almost like a pie chart. Kill one mage, and more magic becomes available to others. However, magic is not divided evenly. Bertram Fey, the most powerful White Wizard in the world, has no equal, all by chance.

Sixteen years ago there was a Burning, where the prophecy given was "There will be twelve that will lead to the death of the most powerful devil known to man, disguised as the strongest white wizard". Bertram Fey was there to hear this prophecy, and he did not like it. He had spent years securing his position within the government, becoming one of the most influential men in the kingdom. From the shadows, he ran the magic academies, culling mages who took more from the proverbial magic pie than he felt was appropriate. Now he was supposedly be prophesied to die as a devil. He immediately took action.

As per custom, the infant Oracle was placed in foster care. Bertram paid to have the young child placed in the care of his sister. He then had anyone who had heard the prophecy killed before it could be spread, and spread around a false prophecy. Blaming the murders on the second-rate citizens of the kingdom, Bertram strengthened his position, and strengthened it further by revealing his sister was the foster mother to the Oracle now. However, he presented his sisters biological newborn child as the Oracle, and hid the actual Oracle from sight. Using his magical powers, he created the illusion that his nephew was the Oracle and hid the actual Oracle from sight.

This right here is the basis for the plot, the sort of background I would like to use. I am certainly willing to work with you on it, add things or take away things as you wish.

These characters as just the ones I initially thought up. I am willing to work with you to add or subtract characters, and even change how some of them are. This is more just to get the ball rolling and give you more of an idea of what I am looking for.

Jack Palmer is the son of a gay prostitute named Barry Palmer, living among the whore-house for most of his life. Jack is ideallic, and practices martial arts to pass the time. He works as the whore-houses errand boy, and is quite popular among the ladies. He will always do the right thing, no matter what, and will do what he can to make the life of those around him better. Impassioned, and a bit rash.

Victor Grey is an ex-pit fighter of some fame, that has taken to teaching Jack the ways of combat. He is Jack's father figure, where as Jack's actual father is more motherly. He is wizened, older, and very down to earth. He carries emotional wounds and burdens that he shares with no one, and hopes that by teaching everything he knows to Jack that Jack can avoid the same fate.

Cecile de Champignon is a eccentric alchemist that lives in the woods. She is the daughter of rather well known doctors, but she couldn't take the pressure her parents placed on her to succeed. She now lives alone in the woods with her pet mushroom Myca, focusing on her alchemical practices more than anything else. She's got almost no social graces, but makes up for it in physical beauty.

Siegfried Gerholdt is a bounty hunter. He spends all of the money he earns from his bounties on booze, and is drunk more often than not. He's a free spirit, and relies on his brother more than he cares to admit just to get through life. He's a failed monster hunter, and a crack-shot with a bow.

Egon Gerholdt is a monster hunter, called a Slayer. He joined the Slayers alongside his brother, but was the only one of the two to actually join their ranks. He is cool, collected, and logical; he prefers to have a plan before he commits to any action. He loves his brother more than anything in the world.

Sain Rower is an assassin, but a strange one. He became an assassin to follow in the footsteps of his childhood hero, a fictional character in the story books. Sain dresses like his character, talks like this character, and while the character's actions were largely unrealistic and impractical, tries to copy them as best as he can.

Lana is a Companion, or a whore that specializes in finding and distributing information. She runs her own whore-house, and is famous for supposedly knowing every secret the kingdom has to offer. She's wise, but keeps her thoughts to herself. She always knows how to engineer a situation to benefit her.

Cathryn Shields is a down on her luck Guardwoman. After an oversight of her's caused the death of a noble, she was demoted to being a guard in the shittiest district in town. She spends most of her nights drunk and seeking out women (and men) to warm her bed, all in a hope to maybe wake up the next day feeling better than when she went to bed.

Izabel Fey is the Oracle in truth. She is only 16, and believes that her sister is actually the Oracle. She has been mistreated her whole life, but retains her cheery and bright outlook on life, hoping one day to actually see her mother's love. She truly wishes to see her sister succeed, and is truly unaware of the fact that she is the Oracle herself, despite all the weird things that happen around her.

Nneke Himbra is the mother of Roho and a leader of a tribe outside of the kingdom, in the Uncivilized Lands. She hides of dark secret of being one with the beast, able to take a more wolf-like as she wills. She comes to the kingdom seeking her son, hearing rumors he may be working with forces that don't have the world's best interests in mind...

Roho Himbra is a Headhunter, that works with Bertram in finding artifacts from which Roho can draw the essence of previous Oracles from. Using these essences, Bertram can create the illusion his nephew is the Oracle, despite that not being so. Roho despises his mother, feeling she stole his dad from him.

Nilsine Rayner is a thief first and everything else later. She likes the shiny things and knows how to take them. She's a fan of activities in the bedroom, and if she can take your shiny things at the same time, all the better.

Bertram Fey is the White Wizard prophecied to be killed due to being a dick, plain and simple.

These characters are subject to change. They were just my initial ideas! I am willing to work with you to create a cast that you are happy with and willing to play.
