Richard was sat in his luxuriously decorated living room. Staring at the void displayed on his widescreen TV. He was anxious, unnerved, worried. The friend he'd made over the past few months was supposed to have arrived at the apartment by now, being half an hour late judging by observations of his Omega De Ville. Restless hands took turns in rubbing each other over as Richard ran through the list of possible causes to his guests tardiness.
"Maybe the trains were delayed?" he asked himself, failing to nail a tone powerful enough to convince himself. So he tried again. "Maybe... He decided to stop for lunch?" Again, the reassurance failed and instead he found himself rising to his feet to start pacing the room. The journey taking him through most of the tastefully done apartment. For all the work he'd done in turning his house into a place of comfort and warmth, it was a waste of money for situations like these. He thought to himself that he may as well be in a leaking shed during a storm. He'd still be looking for untapped terrain to wear down with his hurried steps.
Then just as he was making his second lap of the office space he suddenly heard a knocking at the door. It was subtle and meek, nothing more than a gentle rap but in the silence of the apartment it rang true like the bells of clock tower. He recoiled in surprise to the sudden beating against mahogany. Another glance at his watch confirming the delay to be forty five minutes overdue. He cared little of how late they were though, just that they arrived in time.
"Shit, shit..." he quietly cursed to himself. Racing towards the nearest mirror he could find on the wall to primp and prepare himself for the first meeting. A quick run of his fingers through his hair was needed to clear his vision and reveal his deep sapphire hues. A stroke of his smooth cheeks was all he needed to give himself the courage to hide away his worried expression, donning a mask of confidence accentuated with a handsome smile. "You're up Richie... I'm coming!" he called out when he heard a second more insistent knock, briskly jogging to the front door of the apartment and swinging it open to go and greet Jerry.
