It was a nice summer evening, the sun high in the sky and the birds of the sky singing loudly. The wind picked up around the empty road as it ran through the forest, one end having come from the city not far off and the other going to who knows where up into the woods. If one was to follow this road they would quickly find that it started to break off into several different dirt roads at what seemed to be regular intervals. Most would be ignore because they had been over grown by trees and weeds while others were simply blocked off by large gates and no trespassing signs. There was a single road that was left unguarded yet still looked rather neat and clean of any weeds or annoying trees. A moderately sized house could easily be seen from the start of this dirt road, a steel grey ford truck sitting in the driveway beside of the house. It was obvious that someone was home. Sitting on the porch was a creature of monstrous size, its scales a bright yellow and a dark blue that twirled down the neck and under its shirt. The wyvern was called Vincent Firth, and he worked as a private security guard. He was known to guard high profile people, not always the nicer folk either. As of the last few years, however, Vincent had been payed rather handsomely to guard a powerful business man as well as anything else he was told to protect. Vincent sat on his porch, a cigar held between two dangerous but dull looking claws and a wine scent wafting off the burning end. The thick wooden chair under him groaned with his wait, as at the moment he was probably putting a little more weight on it more then usual.
The large wyvern was in a poor mood, not happy with what his boss Mr.Darwen had in store for him. He was only told a day or so before that he'd be watching a very special item for his employer. His only daughter. Vincent lifted his cigar to his lips and inhaled deeply, letting the smoke filter through his nostrils. In all honesty, he knew very little about Mr.Darwen's life, only having interest in what he needed to know to keep him safe as well as his money safe. In his mind he would be stuck with some ten year old brat that would boss him around as much as her father. Sure, Vincent could put up with his boss most of the time but he didn't think his mind would last long with some random kid. That last thing he wanted to do was snap and end up in prison or worse, killed. Sighing he shook his head and turned the side of his head to the entrance of the dirt road. His webbed ears twitched, his ear rings shaking a little as he was sure he could hear the rumble of cars from somewhere in the forest. He slid out of the thick wooden chair and held the cigar in his mouth with his lips. He walked out to the end of his driveway and stood there, his large hands on his hips.
"I don't even know this girl's name..." Vincent grumbled to himself, his voice low and rough.
