Seth Vena was walking the shores of California early in the morning near a less popular shore when he saw a fish net with something a little big trapped in it. His first feeling was anger. Anger at the fishermen who left this to float about in the ocean. But he sighed as he approached the net to with sadness, knowing the thing was mostly likely dead. But as he approached it, he noticed to things. The first was that the creature was still alive. The second thing that he noticed was that it was a mermaid. That's right, a mermaid. He pinched himself several times before realizing that she was real. But after a whole minute at staring at the unconscious beautiful creature, he untangled her from the mess that she was in and held her in his arms and he gently tried to stir her from her slumber. When she did, he wondered if she spoke the same language he did or if she would even understand what he said. Perhaps she could understand him but not talk to him?

Ella was just swimming around talking to her fish buddies when she was trapped in a net. He did all that she could to get out but it was all for nothing. She ended up passing out from all of her efforts. As she woke, she didn't feel the thin rope like material around her anymore but instead in the arms of human. She looked up at him, she was afraid to say anything at first because she was afraid this was the man who caught her. She softly asked "are you the one who trapped me in that net?"

"N-no, but I found you here on the shore." he said with a gasp as she could talk and he could understand her. He wondered if she could understand him, but that was a silly question. After all, how she not understand him if he understood her?
