After months of talking over the internet and hiding behind the screen name 'DuckieLee', Jessica was getting a chance to cross the country and visit one of her better friends. They had never met face to face, only over hours of webcam conversations and even longer chats and texts. It's been almost a year since they first met in that random meet-up chat room. Fate was a stupid way to think of it, as that had nothing to do with it, but Jessica had been holding her breath for a good while that the two would be able to meet. And between the gift of a ticket from her grandmother and a bit of funds from her friend, Jessica finally made her way across the country to see the man she had hoped to see for so long.

Between the webcam and a good barrage of pictures, the pair knew each other better than others who lived around Jess. It was a long trip, over 5 hours of sitting on a plane, but Jess had slept through most of it, ignoring the time zone change and the annoying child sitting behind her. Thanks to the pounding beats in her ears and the slight recline of her hair, the entire trip went far better than she had planned it to. And with no problems going through security, she began her massive rain of text messages.

'Hey'
'Hey'
'Guess who landed'
'This guy. Yeaaah'

The twenty year old woman wasn't exactly dressed to show off, wearing a pair of jeggings, loose fitting black and white striped sweater and a pair of traditional black, high top sneakers, straight from the Converse shelves. Nothing fancy, but the five-foot-six Jessica wasn't one to look to impress people on a plane ride. No wearing heels for her. She heard a rant once about women who wear heels who had popped the safety rafts for others on the crashed plane. She really didn't want to have that weight on her shoulders if that sort of thing were to happen. Obviously it hadn't though, so that must have been a 'sign'.

Bad side to traveling like a hobo? Well Jess always looked amazing on webcam, typically because she had just come home from work or school, so of course she looked better. And with a little refreshing before hand, she looked great. But now, she had only bothered to put on minimal make up, just for an extra flair for her friend but hadn't thought to put a lot of effort into her looks. That wouldn't be a problem, as she looked just as good without make up, but she still wasn't at her best.

And so, there she was, pulling her suit case behind her with a backpack hanging loosely off her shoulders and her purse-like sidepack sitting at her hip. Through security... through the food court-style city... and out into the pick up area where she began to scan for her friend before tapping at her phone.

'I'm the one who looks like a jet lagged mess. Seriously, your time zone will fuck me up'

Today was the day, the tension in him was rising up more and more as the time to pick her up came closer and closer. This was going to be his first time he would be able to see her in person. Although even though the web chats through the internet exposed both of their faces. Today was different, there would be no barrier between them. Quickly his legs made his way down each and every set of stairs inside his tiny house. As he Reached the bottom of the stairs, his feet made contact with the soft brown carpet. Taking a glance at the clock inside his living room. Jake knew that he had to get ready and quick. The first thing on his list of things to do before Jessica were to come was to eat breakfast. Doing this did not take him long to finish. As he took the cereal box off of the counter to pour himself a bowl of cereal. Jake started to slowly eat, cause of the fact that he was watching television in his living room. Finishing his meal, He made his way back up the stairs to get washed up and changed.

Around this time was when he got the first text message from his friend. He had made a mistake, Jake had calculated the time wrong. Since he had lived only 10 minutes away from the airport. He had thought that he did not need to leave that early. However, he was wrong. He had completely forgotten that she would land at 2pm. It being way past 2pm, Jake quickly went to get changed without even replying to her messages. Swiftly, he put on a plain grey t-shirt and a navy blue jean. Next, he went into the restroom to brush his teeth and fix his hair. Moving as fast as he could. Before leaving thr house, he sprayed Old Spice body spray all over him, just in case he would smell later on. Then finally putting on a pair of black socks and vans before exiting the house.

Inside the car, he begun to think about Jessica. How they hung out together online and how he was able to help pay for the ticket cause of his part time job. Suddenly, he started to question himself. Why did he care so much about her? The way he was feeling right now was different than how he had usually felt when meeting up with her. It's not cause he was excited ti see her in person for the first time was it? This anew feeling was different. It similar to something he had felt before. It was the feeling of falling in love with someone. A part of him did not believe this was true. While the other hoped that this was real. Could this mean he was in love with her? Sure, he still liked her as a friend. However, he came to a conclusion that he wanted to be more than friends.

Like he had predicted, it did not take that long for him to arrive at the airport. Reading the last text she had sent him. With all of the times he had seen her face on skype. Jake was able to notice right away who she was from the crowd. Getting out of his silver camry after parking right in front of her. Jake made his way around it to help her with her bags. "Sorry I was late. Wasn't paying attention to the time. You don't look as bad as you said you looked." he said as he gave Jessica another look. "In fact, is it me or do you look a lot better than you do online?" he added as he reached out his hand to her for her suitcase. He did not really know how they have met or became really close friends. Although now that they were finally face to face. He was able to see how beautiful she really was. To start, she was the ideal girl for him. He had liked hee tomboyish attitude when they talked. Jake was not really into the girly girls that was in his school. "So, how about we do something while you are here....it's my treat."
