Personality: As the second-in-command of De Lu-Ait, it is the job of Captain Sanger to be the most openly mean, and cruel SOB to the recruits that he can be so they can hope to maybe survive the fires of warfare and destruction. If he takes a bit of personal enjoyment out of it -- well -- who's going to stop him? Certainly not Major Sharova. They've bled together in combat. Besides, it's not like many (read, any) of the recruits likely have what it takes to stop him.
