It was dark that night. The night air had an eerie chill to it. Nathan didn't want to be out here, but he had no other choice. His usual route home from school had been...blocked off after a large car accident. He sighed...wishing that he didn't have to stay so late for detention. It was pitch black at night and walking through the park was very...nerving. The next thing he'd know would be the feeling of a knife in his back, and something biting at his neck suddenly. His eyes went wide as the assailant was twisting the knife, causing Nathan to cry out in pain as the assailant feasted on Nathan's blood like the vampire that it was.

Lain had finally settled the school's drama club down for their dismissal, Unable to actually get through the day was one thing but to have to calm the chaos that went throughout the room was worse than talking to crying infants. "I understand that this smell of human blood is more than festive to your senses but do not ruin our lives based on your savage tendencies." She demanded as the group headed out into the cold night air. As Lain walked out into the night she seen something most unsettling, A rogue vampire feeding on a helpless human. Without warning, she scared the monster away and went to try and aide the poor human. Due to her quick thinking, Lain bit onto the spot the first one had taken and replaced his poison for her life force and pureblood. "I rather he live as a creature of the night rather then die here." She thought as she slowly began to bring the boy into her world under her care and rule.

It all happened so fast. The attacker stabbed and drank Nathan's blood. Then the appearance of a woman, very familiar to him yet unknown. She was wearing his school's uniform though...maybe he saw her around every now and then? He saw her approach after she scared off his attacker, and he leaned against a nearby park bench, holding his shoulder lightly to try and stop the blood, somehow more worried about his shoulder than the knife wound. He had little to no strength as she moved and bit into him as well...but he felt blood going INSIDE of him rather than being taken out. The next thing he knew...he passed out and felt himself being slowly brought somewhere by this girl, Lain.

Lain couldn't think f a better place rather than her estate to bring the boy. "Mother, I have a new pet." She said shakily, laying the young man down on the floor. After looking him over and washing him clan, Lain then cleaned the wound from wear he had been stabbed. The knife sat beside her on the floor where it will stay. As he laid unconscious Lain went through his back pack and found his school i.d. "I know you." She said softly. "Nathan, we are in the same class. Although I do not say much to nothing. You are the notorious playboy." She scoffed, it was just her luck to have saved the one type of guy she hated. "Welcome to my world kid." After an hour Lain decided to sit and wait for him to finally come back into consciousness, instead of leaving him alone in a giant mansion.

Nathan drifted in and out of consciousness as he was brought to her estate. He remembered her calling him her 'new pet'. He also remembered her cleaning his wounds somewhat where his knife wound was. He remembered her going through his pockets to find his ID, though he was unconscious during the bit of her explaining how she knew him. When he would finally come to, he would find that his bod would be....different, thanks to her. He looked around, confused...not sure where he was entirely. "Where...where am I?"

Lain was deep in thought as she read through her diary to pass time, when she heard the young man speak. Keeping her eyes on her writing and updating she answered him dryly. "Your new home, my estate. You almost died so you're welcome." As she finished her writing she closed the thick black leather diary and turned to look at him. "How do you feel Nathan?" She asked, her long black hair framing around her face.

"I...I almost died...?" He repeated as he felt his shoulder and chest, feeling for wounds that he remembered sustaining. Of course he couldn't reach the one on his back and he knew he'd look stupid for trying to. "I feel...like it never happened..." He murmured as he looked to her, obviously puzzled by this whole ordeal. "Who are you...? You look familiar but...Hm...I remember seeing you with my school's uniform on..."

"I sit in the back of the class with the four other outcasts of our class. My name is Lain. "President of the drama club. "You are a vampire now Nathan. You cannot go back home, you cannot see your family anymore." She said bluntly, looking around the lightly lit living area, before laughing. "I never turned anyone before, it felt good."

"A vampire...?" He murmured and looked at her curiously. "Oh...I get it...This is just some act...You're part of the drama club...you almost got me...I have to admit, you're pretty good with acting." He replied as he got out of the bed and looked around. "Well...I best be getting home...Really...Thank you for saving me. I thought I was going to die." He smiled and turned to head for the door, feeling a bit creeped out about this whole situation.

Quickly, Lain ran in front of him, blocking his hand access from the knob. "This is no joke, nor is it an act. I am a vampire and so are you. Now, you cannot go back home, you have no home anymore as a human" She demanded, looking him in his eyes. "You are my servant, in debt to me for saving your life."

"The hell are you talking about...?" He questioned as he stepped back and glared at the girl. "I want to go home...Who the hell are you to say if I can't go home, whether I'm human or not? Won't my parents be questioning my whereabouts if I'm still in school yet not at home?! Get out of the way Lain...this game has gone on long enough..."

She sighed, looking at the angered young man. "I gave you a new life. Tomorrow your parents will find you dead in the woods due to your attack. "You are to stay here in my estate and live by my way of life and the way of the vampire." She explained, gently looking at him. "I am sorry for this news, it is very unsettling but this is your reality now." Slowly she took his bags and led him to a spare room to the far left. "Come."

He felt like he couldn't...reject the offer. He had no choice...Something about her made him feel like he would die once more if he was insistent on disobeying her. 'It can't be THAT bad...I got this beautiful piece of ass to take care of me at least...' He thought in his head as he was shown to his room. "What about school...? Am I still to go there? Or am I going to be locked in your household all day...and night...as if some sort of common animal that you keep as a pet?"

"Ah, school." She chuckled, looking at him. "You can still associate with your human friends but you are to report to the drama club every afternoon." She announced, walking into a door on his back wall. "This is my room. Do Not enter without knocking, midnight I drink and eat, so I expect it to be ready every night promptly, You are to not bring human girls into my mother's estate, I find her I kill her, Any female vampire that is so bold as to come here as well will be reprimanded and killed on spot. Any questions you have will be answered once you feel comfortable. As for right now I must change and so should you, there are clothes in the back closet, wear what you se fit." Lain insisted before ducking into her room.

"How am I supposed to get some poon if I can't bring any women home?" He murmured in refusal, but eventually gave in, knowing he had no choice. "Fine...Fine..." He said with a sigh and went to the closet. He opened it and saw a small array of clothes and sighed, hoping they'd fit. And to his surprise, they did. He wore a black jacket with a scarlet red t-shirt. His pants were blue. He did not feel tired at all...maybe he was truly a vampire. He had so many questions though...He was so new to this. He didn't know the first thing about being a vampire, and what lore was true and what lore was not. "Maybe Lain could fill me in..." He left his room, and went to hers. Though, he knew that she was changing. A grin came to his face, and he began to try to peep through the keyhole to see if he could glimpse her body in the nude or in some underwear.

Finally satisfied to be out of her mediocre school clothing Lain stripped down to only her light blue G-string and began looking for her favorite White sheer night dress. "Ah, my lovely chemise can be worn as well." She mused to herself, switching to the white, silk mini dress folded in her wardrobe. As she slipped it on she chuckled then swiftly turned on her heels and kicked at the dividing door. "NO PEEPING YOU LOWLIFE!" She shouted hearing a low groan from the other side.

He was so into what he was seeing that he had his face pressed into the door so he could get a better look, his eye right next to the keyhole. The next thing he knew, she kicked the door! And he was sent back holding his nose as he cried out in pain slightly as his nose was now bleeding! "Ow ow ow ow! You overdid that!" He cried out as he leaned forward and rubbed the blood from his face. "I wanted to talk to you...I have so many questions...Like you expect me to serve you food? Do you want me to give you human blood or actual food...? And what about me going out during the day? Will I die in a burst of smoke or am I just weakened? What lore is real...? What isn't?"

Slowly she opened the door to look at him. "There are no limits to justice you perverted scum and I would like both human blood and a cooked meal, You can go in daylight but only for a maximum of 6 hours after that you must find either shade or go home, then drink blood." She replied dryly. "Anything else Nathan?"

"What else kills us? Sunlight is what I know that hurts us at least. But what about holy water? A wooden stake? Garlic? Silver? What about going near holy ground? I need to know as much as I can about what can kill me so I can stay alive longer..." He stood up finally. "And how do you expect me to get human blood? I can't just drag a human in here for you to drink off of and let them go. They'll know what we are...!"

Lain was more than agitated with the questions. "The only things that can kill us from the list you named off is a wooden stake and silver. No I have a freezer full of human blood I get from a friend that works in a hospital downtown. "Drinking off humans are forbidden and punished by death." She sighed heavily taking her robe from off the chair and putting it on her. "Anything else Nathan?"

"No...I guess not." He replied. "I am just going to guess I leave the blood out of the fridge for some moments so it becomes room temperature?" He crossed his arms and nodded. "So I guess I'll be seeing this drama club tomorrow after school...Are any of them vampire as well? Or should I keep my whole new identity to myself, even to them, be they human or vampire? I know we can't exactly go about saying what we are...If Vampires are real...then I can only assume vampire HUNTERs are real as well..."

Lain laughed. She couldn't take how innocent e was being about something so scary. "Every member of the drama club is a vampire. It is all a cover up to give us time to meet up and hold vampire meetings. Hunters do exist but never will they bother school students who keep to them selves." She said lastly before looking him over. "You look good in that, do not ruin it" The she proceeded back to her room to wind down. "Room temperature is fine and bring a little wine as well with it."

"Blood and wine...why does that sound familiar..." He said to himself and went to his room to retire for the night. When morning would come, Nathan slept in his bed soundly, having fell asleep about an hour ago as dawn as beginning to come out. He had made certain to close the curtains so his room would remain dark when the sun would come out...taking precaution and not wanting to die due to stupid mistakes and forgotten tasks.

Lain sat by her vanity toying with her black strands as the sun rose and lit up her room. Quietly she walked out of her room and went to grab a morning drink and bagel to start her day. "Nathan! Nathan! it is time to wake up!" She shouted in a song as she made her way into his bed chamber. "Time for school mister lowlife!" Lain laughed, kicking the end of his bed. "And open a damn curtain, it is depressing."

He sat up and groaned a bit and looked to her as she mentioned the curtain. "I'd rather not let sunlight slowly burn me while I sleep..." He replied as he got out of the bed, still dressed in what he had been wearing before. He felt like a guest in her house still, and didn't want to seem improper by sleeping in nothing but underwear. He stood up and yawned and headed down to the kitchen. "Hey Lain...Whats for breakfast before we go to school...?" He hadn't eaten since he died.
