Christopher peeked at the wall clock dangling on the in his living room, it was 1AM. He could hear the storm rising with the chilling winds and heavy rains. It was the months of bitter winters; the storm was uncommon but couldn’t really complain as it was already broadcasted on the afternoon news, giving him more than enough time to get back home safely from work. But he was a bit worried too; his step-daughter couldn’t make it back home. He tried calling her but with the weather, the network had also grown sadistic it seemed. His wife, who was away on a business trip but still a bitch, was calling him every 10 minutes to check on her daughter. Like she really cared?

It has been about 3 years since Christopher and Angela got married after multiple failure attempts. God himself was trying to keep them away, if only he could read those sings but they say love is blind. Indeed it is blind but it didn’t took him long to realize, in reality what he thought was love was no more than merely needs of both of them. And once they didn’t need each other, the love died, sadly it happened pretty soon. Angela required a babysitter for her daughter, who was almost mature now and she found one, Christopher.

Christopher felt betrayed at first but then it started staying longer in office than home, things calmed down. He had a few affairs, trying to kill the lonesome, which was still there despite being married. Girls were never a problem for him; he was a top management boss in a reputed law firm, a mentor and a highly respected lawyer. With cash, he was good looking too; tall, 5”10 despite his claims of being 6”0. He owned a good body as he made sure to spend some time in gym regularly. Light blue eyes, Mel Gibson hairstyle, broad shoulders and a well proportionate body. Not to miss his right cheek dimple was noticeable with even a slightest smirk.

Christopher was tired, all he desired was to fall on his bed but his stepdaughter was just being a typical stepdaughter again, although he was sure that she would be safe and having fun no matter where she was. She was a smart girl, cheerful and cautious. It was sad that they never got along but he did care about her. It was her upbringing which made her a brat. Why not, her mom was out mostly away, her real father never checked on her and her stepfather, Christopher; he always tried to keep himself apart, he was aware she wouldn’t appreciate him trying to be a father.
