Setting: Based in a feudal Japan era, there will be no cars, no guns, and no magic.... Optical illusions are very welcome.... Now the land is generally warm, it doesn't snow other than up in the mountains during the right seasons. The only time it gets cold is during spring when it rains a lot. Dirt roads horse drawn buggies. The times are hard as the current emperor is a war lord who's depraving the land to fight his battle for control and power over all of Japan. People struggle to live food is scarce... Peasants are always mostly polite, some have jobs others own businesses... Traveling merchants often travel in groups armed or not at all. In fear that the warlords or the bandits might rob them.
Plot: A young swordsman who was sold into slavery as a child to feed the rest of his family. Has his entire carriage killed and robbed by a group of bandits. Saved by a wandering swordsman who trained the young boy... The young boy turning into a man wants to help the people. Swordsman warns the boy he will pay dearly with his own humanity... The boy strong headed doesn't listen and becomes an assassin for those in need rebelling against the emperor. He meets a girl who is to be the wife of the emperor's son... Not willingly as she is being traded for a profitable agreement between two states of Japan. She is as rebellious as him... Also as strong willed. They are instantly intertwined in a love affair as they are destined to be soul mates... But the world they know won't allow it. They run off together... He's forced to protect her. Then she's left with a dilema, betray the man she loves for her father and lead him into his death... Or she can be chased with him hunted like animals..

As a boy he was sent into slavery the times where hard. He was traveling the land, when his caravan was attacked by bandits. They killed everyone, a lone swordsman walks onto the scene. Saves Kona, trains him, when Kona runs away the swordsman has let his pupil run to the wolves... Now Kona is an assassin for the house of the singing blades... A young assassin with plenty experience and plenty potential. How long will it last though?
