The light shower had been going on for the past hour, the rain beginning to soak everything regardless of how light it was. It was a dark day, the clouds high in the sky blocking out the sun and casting a huge city over the city. Not many cars were out today, most people either already home from work or still working, leaving the street empty except for one mound of fur. Sitting on the side walk sat a large dog, a wolf hound from the look of its grey fur and large size. On his neck was a black collar with a single golden disk hanging from it, a name engraved into it. On the tiny disk the name 'Beast' was clearly pressed and painted on it, though no other marks could be seen on it. The dog was still as a statue, his pelt already waterlogged and hanging off of him.
Beast had a look of forlorn on his face, his old owner having just left him here for no reason. She had said to stay right there and that she would be right back. That was several hours ago. When the rain started Beast had remained where he was, sure that it was all a mistake, that his master would be back any time now in the large metal monster that she had put him in. It was only now that he was starting to realize something was wrong. He laid down on the side walk, his large body stretching all over it and his head just barely hanging off the curb. The rain continued to fall, beginning to get harder, and slowly Beast's wining started. Why had his master left him?
He waited for another half hour before he slowly got up and began to start walking. His head hung low as he walked, water droplets hitting him hard all over his body. He passed an alley, turning his head just in time to see an old cardboard box just sitting against the wall. Beast stopped and looked at it for a moment, his eyes perking up a bit. IT would take long for water to soak through but he was glad he found something. He walked over to it, using a paw to flip it over to he could slip inside. Only half of him fit in, his front half still outside and getting rained on. His ears flattened on his head again, having known that this was to good to be true. He began to wine again, thinking about his old owner again. Why were humans so cruel?
