This place was seedy, if seedy had a poster child, this place was IT. Everything about it was seedy, the cover operation was nearly as damned seedy as the actual purpose of the dirty old building. Oh sure, during the day it was a dive at the edge of town, so bad that Law Enforcement tended to walk right on past it; after the clock struck midnight though, the rift raft were cleared out and the real business started. Auctions, not for some old ladies Kitchen Dinette Set, this place dealt in Slaves of all shapes, sizes, types and ages. The Stage were the Slavers paraded their 'wares' for potential buyers at the back of the room, cast in good ol' torch light. A podium dead center for the loud mouthed auctioneer to ramble off bids at the speed of...well, annoying.
Now though, it had been active for about an hour...collared and chained slaves were being sold off like bottles of beer. Nathaniel Lucifer had been here the whole time, watching them go down one by one, he was an unassuming man, and amongst the loud and unruly crowd around him...an oddity. He'd yet to bid even once, naturally because he hadn't seen anything worth his time, or money yet. Straightening his tie, a sigh passed his lips, this was starting to look like a wasted night, there wasn't much left to be shown, and if he'd be very disappointed if he left again, empty handed.
Simply put, these men had to have something rare, that's what he wanted. As if on cue, the chubby man on stage announced just that. Their final item, and most rare, and of course... most expensive, coming to the stage. Nathaniel's eyes instantly went to the stage to find out what it could be.
