Truth be told, she wasn't really the type for going up into the woods to do anything like what they were doing. She wasn't the type, but she couldn't resist the two week vacation of being out in the woods with her set of five friends, their set of cars having pulled up to the cabin last night. The hike would take off in a little while, all of them having woken up to get ready to go out and explore the woods in sets of two. Unfortunately, one of the male's had taken the opportunity to be her partner was exactly the one who had been hitting on her since they graduated high school. And sure, it was fine to occasionally be flirted with and to know that if something wild jumped out of the forest to get her that she would be alright, but still, there were other things she would rather be doing. Legs clad in cut off denim shorts, she looked over to her side when she heard the crunch of her male companion's boots stop, looking up at the cloudless sky before back down to her, he announced, "You know what I heard about these woods?"
He paused as though to build up suspense, although the honey blonde only raised a brow slightly and awaited the rest, "That there was an animal out here, feeding off human flesh and just devouring any one he could find." She had heard about that on the news, crossing her arms over her full chest, Catalina rolled her dark brown eyes at him, the Hispanic female setting her hands at her hips. "You have got to be joking. You really believe that?" She couldn't help but be concerned for his mental health, adjusting her backpack and laughing once they both came to terms that it probably wasn't true. That was just some rumor started to keep young adults like themselves out of the woods, specifically when the majority of them that went out into the woods were doing something that definitely didn't consist of hiking. Partying and having sex out in the wild was an entertaining thing, to say the least, so it was totally understandable how such a thing could occur.
But of course, their local government had decided to pump out stupid lies about some beast living in the forest and eating animals. "I'm gonna go over behind that tree and take a piss, alright?" Spoke her companion after another fifteen minutes of walking, pointing toward a large tree, Catalina nodded her head and watched him walk off, herself moving in another direction just out of simple curiosity; Well, she was only nineteen, she could still be curious if she wanted to be. From a distance the sounds of an animal whimpering could be heard. A young fox anthro was trapped in the air by a hunters net. Even though the government said their is to be no hunting the chances of catching the creature would be a market like no other. Rustling in the net with a bunch of leaves cracking.
The Fox moved around as he tried to chew at the straps of the net but nothing worked these were meant to hold whatever it caught. He let out another whimper as he tried calling for help. It was all he could do as he laid against the net. Sure he was a fox anthro and if seen by a human they'd might run instead of trying to save him. He didn't even know that he was being hunted.

The whimpering sound was made clear to her as she continued to wander off through the forest, knowing where her cabin was so at least the chances of her getting lost out here were slim to none. Biting onto her bottom lip because she wasn't exactly sure what she was getting into, only until her eyes looked up did she nearly jump out of her skin to see something hanging in a trap. What in the world was that thing?! Picking up a large stick, Catalina raised it carefully and poked at the male lightly in his leg, realizing that this could easily be the human eating creature they were talking about.
For a 'flesh eating, human destroyer' he didn't really look too intimidating as far as those news reports went. Perhaps it was simply some rumor, but evidently it had gotten out enough for people to set traps in these woods when they weren't supposed to. Fortunately, if she let him down and he acted up, she had a flare gun she knew how to use. "Wh- How in the. . How did you get up there!?" Of course to most people that was a stupid question, but Catalina couldn't help it, looking up at him with her dark brown eyes.
He felt the stick against his leg and he struggled against the bond's till he came face to face with the girl. His ear's were back in fear as she asked her question. "Fo..od." He said scared that he would be attacked. that's all he was looking for and then he was caught in the net. "Please get me down." He spoke really softly trying to make it not seem strange. He didn't know what to do as he remained in a balled up position in the net.
His orangish red fur was dirty and mangled from struggling and not being able to get clean from staying up here all night long. He whimpered as he looked down at her. Hoping she would be her savior and get him out of here.
