Eve Wells walked through the dark cold alley in the middle of the night. It was late and the moon was large, almost enchanting one might say. Her wavy auburn red hair flowed gently behind her with the wind, bouncing up and down slightly with every step she took. She swiped her side bangs out of her eyes, adjusting her bag so it wouldn't fall off her shoulder any time soon. She was a tall 23 year old with model-like features. She had a strong jawline and large, sharp eyes that pierce those they gaze at. Her skin was tanned just the right color, not too dark, not too light. One might say she has the most ideal body.
The alley was one Eve was very familiar with. It is one of the many complex alleys that make up what's known as the Shire. The Shire is nothing more than the name of one small area of the city of Elsing. It's what is known as the dark spot in the city, an area where the poor thrive.
Eve had been in the Shire for a funeral. Her mother had recently passed away, leaving Eve and her sister a castle-like mansion, a very large area of land, enough money to last generations to come, and multiple companies. Eve never understood why her mother wanted to have a funeral in the Shire, but all the woman would say was that she wanted to be buried where she grew up.
Thinking back on the events of that day, Eve quickened her pace in the alley. A shiver was sent down her spine, and she felt as if she was being followed. Surely it was nothing, and if need be, she had enough self defense lessons to look after herself.
Luckily for her, the cold feeling was nothing, as she stepped out of the alley, out of the Shire, and onto the streets of the bustling Elsing metropolis. She quickly called a taxi, which then drove her to the other side of Elsing, out of the metropolis, and into the rich residential area. She paid the driver twice the amount he asked for before stepping out and unlocking the front door of her incredibly large mansion. The exterior was old, but with careful observation, it's as new as new can be. It was simply designed to look old, nothing more. On the inside, however, it's completely modern with marble floors, polished stairs, full heating and lighting, as well as multiple chandeliers hung up high.
Eve locked the door behind her and took off her black trench coat. She called for her maid, Ann, who took her coat and hurried away to do her chores. Eve walked up the polished marble stairs, down the hall, and into her room at the very end of it. Her room was just as luxurious as the rest of the house, though it could hardly be called a room. It was more of a suite, actually. Upon entering the door, one would see a large room with a red fainting couch in the center, facing a flat screen TV by the wall left of the entrance door. The couch was peculiar and caught Eve's eyes the moment she saw it. It seemed almost perfect. The floor was made of polished wood, and had a luxurious glint to it. Behind the couch on the other side of the room were two large windows, reaching from the floor to the ceiling. Unfortunately, it is not possible to open them. The sides of the room was lined with book shelves, mostly filled with books Eve never looked at. Yet the room had a dim lighting to it, making feel almost romantic.
The right side wall from the suite entrance had a door that led to the bedroom. The bedroom, unlike the room before, had beige walls instead of crimson. In the center of the wall opposite the bedroom entrance was a grand king sized canopy bed with silver white drapes. To the left of the bed are two large windows, one on each side of a glass door leading out to a balcony that looks over the mansion garden. To the right of the bed is a door leading to the closet, which has a door that leads to the bathroom. Both very large, both very fancy.
Eve took off her shoes and fell onto her bed, tired of all the standing and false weeping of the day. Sure, her mother's gone, but she was never exactly a good mother to begin with. With that, Eve closed her eyes and went to sleep.
