Derek Cross got off the bus that was taking him to the town his brother lived in for the summer and stretched before gathering up his bags and moving into the terminal to wait for his brother to show up and take him to his place. He was kind of excited to be honest. The 16 year old hadn't seen his brother for about 8 years now and couldn't wait to spend some time with his world wise sibling. There were definitely some things he wanted to discuss and ask about. Derek began nervously running his hand through his messy red hair. He pulled out his phone to text his brother.

"Hey bro. At term. Where r u?"

Text sent, Derek pulled out his Nintendo 3DS and began playing Kid Icarus: Uprising. Maybe he would be able to beat the level he was stuck on before his brother showed up.

Lee was racing around his apartment looking for his keys, he was running very late. He should be on his way by now but a late drinking session caused him to oversleep. Finding his keys he hears his phone go off. Reading Derek's txt he then runs to his car, quickly sending back a reply

"Sorry mate, running a bit behind. will be there in 10 minutes"

Getting in his car and heading to the bus terminal. As he gets to the junction leading in Lee scans the people standing around, unsure if he'd recognise his brother as it's been so long. He pulls up in the car park looking around. He see's Derek and instantly recognises him.

"Hey bro, over here."

Waving as he walks towards Derek, picking up his bags after giving him a big hug.

Derek smiled as he checked his phone when the text alert went off. Just like Lee to be running late. He closed down his game and go his stuff ready to go. He then moved to somewhere a bit more visible and waited for Lee to show up. It didn't take long before a very familiar figure was calling out to him and giving him a firm hug. Derek returned the hug with a chuckle before grabbing his backpack and following to the car.

"Long time no see. How have you been doing bro?" Derek asked as he helped load his things into Lee's car.

As Lee closed the boot he turned to his brother and smiled.

"have been doing well thanks, a bit hung over but can't complain. Had a late night with a few friends and didn't get to bed till about four in the morning."

Opening the car door for Derek he moved round and got in the car, starting the engine and pulling out of the terminal car park. Stopping sharply as he is cut up by someone in a BMW, casing the car to stall. Lee Leaned out of the window and shouted out a load of abuse, forgetting his brother was in the car with him. Restarting the car and heading off again he turned to Derek.

"Sorry about that, forgot I'm not the only one in the car. So what's been going on with you then little brother?"

"So it sounds like life has been good so far for you," Derek said as he got in the car. He was still getting himself settled in when the car stalled out and Lee begin swearing like a sailor out the window. All he could do was stare in slight shock at his brother during the entire incident. He shook his head at the apology directed his way.

"It's alright, that guy nearly took us out instead of cutting you off. I just don't remember you having such a mouth before," Derek explained. "I've been doing good. Been keeping at the top of pretty much all of my classes in school. Really impresses my teachers. They can't believe someone my age actually still pays attention in class," he said with a laugh.

"that's what happens when you drive, you find your patience for idiots is very limited. That's good about your schooling though. I never really cared much for school but I knew you would always do well and it looks like I was right."

The drive goes without further incident and they arrive at Lee's place. It's a nice sized 2 bedroom apartment, perfect for what Lee needs. Pulling up outside Lee gets out and grabs Derek's bags leading him inside and dumping his bags in the front room. Showing Derek around his place and here he can sleep and put his things.

"so this is my place, make yourself at home bro. You had any thoughts on what you want to do this evening?"

Derek was impressed by Lee's apartment and got to putting his stuff away while still answering Lee's question.

"Well, I wouldn't mind just chilling with you all day. We could catch up and do whatever for the day. I'd understand if you have plans already though. I can keep myself entertained for the night so you can go ahead," he rambled on slightly nervously. He really didn't know what to expect from his brother and his life so he was falling back on his old habit of being completely passive and submissive in new situations.

"hanging out sounds good to me bro, I've not made any plans while your down so we can have a good chill out and catch up. We haven't seen each other in so long I thought it would be nice for us to spend the time together. I've stocked up on snack food, drinks and films. We're going to have a great time."

Lee stands at the doorway as Derek unpacks watching him back and forth. Lee can't help notice his brother looking a little feminine. Not mentioning it he just decides to let it go for now. Thinking about what to do this evening.

"So what kind of film's, series do you like. I have a massive collection to choose from."

"Awesome, how about we watch the X-Men series if you have it? I haven't seen them in awhile and they are one of my favorites. Then you can pick one of your favorites and we'll watch that. What do you think?" Derek asked as he stood up and tucked a stray strand of hair behind his ear. He was ecstatic that he would be able to catch up with Lee uninterrupted today.

Lee smiled as Derek made his suggestion, the X-men films being a favourite of his as well.

"sounds like a good idea bro, I love the X-Men films, I'll get it all set up and get some drinks and snacks ready for us"

Walking over to the shelf with his box sets on and grabbing the DVD's and setting the first one up ready to watch. As Lee waits for Derek to come into the front room Lee goes into the kitchen and starts getting things sorted in there. Grabbing a couple bowls of chips and a couple beers, thinking to himself it'll be ok if it's just a couple.

"Hey bro, you can handle a couple beers right? it's cool if you'd rather have a soft drink, I was just thinking while your away from mum and dad you may have some fun."

"Awesome, I'll just finish unpacking and meet you out there," Derek said with a smile. He finished unpacking his things but left one bag all packed up and just put it in the closet before heading out to the living room.

"Yeah, I'm fine with a couple beers. You're right about having some fun while I'm here and away from mom and dad," he replied as he sat on the couch and waited for Lee to finish up in the kitchen.

Lee grabbed everything he needed and walked over to the couch putting the chip bowls on the coffee table and handed Derek a beer before sitting down. "here you go mate, get this down ya" Lee turned to look at Derek thinking it would be good to have some company for a change. He picked up the remote and went to press play, instead stopping to talk.

"let's have a little catch up before we start, it's been so long and we have a lot to cover. So tell me what's been going on with you, a bit more detail this time" laughing as he spoke.

Derek smiled as he took a drink from his beer.

"Not much more to tell you. I'm doing great in my classes, especially my short story class. Everybody loves the things I write. My teacher keeps telling me that I should look into getting published because I have a gift for creating worlds and characters that draw the reader in and make them experience everything the character goes through like it was happening to them. Outside of class I am the captain of my school's Knowledge Bowl team and I'm on the bowling team. It's pretty much the only sport I'm good at so I thought I should give it a try. Turns out I am better than I thought according to our coach. He says with a bit more practice I could end up with a 200+ average. Can't really think of anything else that's really worth talking about," he said with a smile before taking another drink. "How about you Lee? What have you been up to?"

Lee looked impressed as his brother spoke about his schooling and other activities. Listening carefully as he spoke. After Derek finished he took a big swig from his beer and leaned back into the chair getting comfy. His eyes moved around like he was trying ti think of something interesting to say.

"well first of all that all sounds great, i'd love to read some of your stuff if you've got any of it with you. as for the bowling, i have to say i am an awesome bowler and very competative so i think a few games would be fun. In regards to current events, i'm afraid it's mostly work at the moment. It getting very busy and am doing a lot of overtime at the moment which is why I'm glad i got this time off and you could come round. I've been looking forward to this for months now.

Lee finished off his beer and cracked open a fresh one, taking another large swig from the can.

"I have a few things with me you could read but I'll have to find them. We should totally play a game or two of bowling soon, so that I can wipe the floor with you," Derek said with a cheeky grin as he took a healthy drink of his own beer. "I'm glad I finally came out too. I've been counting down the days since Mom and Dad told me I could come here for the summer. I've really missed you lately bro," he said as he put his now empty can down and grabbed another one, not quite opening it yet though.

Lee smiled as Derek spoke, noticing he didn't open his beer. Leaning forward he placed one hand around the can, holding onto the can and part of his brothers hand. Lee couldn't help notice how soft his brothers skin was, not like a guy's skin it was more feminine. He paused for a bit looking up into his brothers eyes before realising what he was doing. "uh... i... i can't let you sit with an unopened can" speaking with a little nervous tone. Clearing his throat he raised his other hand and opened the can for him.

Lee sat back in the sofa unsure if his brother would react or if he did what would he do or think. He was slightly confused and unsure how he thought himself but couldn't help feel something he couldn't quite figure out. He was straight and this was his brother but still, something was questioning in the back of his mind.

Derek stared at Lee's hand as it rested against his. The rough warmth of his brother's palm against his skin was something he hadn't ever really experienced and he didn't really know what to think of it. It made him feel...good. He looked up and made eye contact with his brother before giving him a nervous smile as his beer was opened.

"Y-yeah, I can understand that," he said with a slight stutter.

Why was he acting this way? He new he wasn't straight or anything but this was his brother after all. Yet still there was a bit of an attraction there.

Lee saw the nervous smile and smiled as Derek spoke. Lee could see that he had made Derek a little uncomfortable but couldn't help feel something he didn't think he would about his brother. Seeing Derek in a different light now he couldn't help feel more for Derek than he knew he should about his brother. It confused his a little but also felt right in some way.

After a couple more beers Lee could tell they were affecting Derek more than him and decided to have an intimate conversation. Lee wanted to try and get Derek talking about more personal things. Lee cleared his throat and turned to Derek "i know what we can do bro, we should talk about guy stuff. You know what i mean? Things we have done and got up to, girls and.....alone" He smiled a little, now thinking he really wants to know. "don't worry bro you can tell me anything, i'll answer any questions you have aswell."

Lee downs the last of his beer and puts the empty can on the table, waiting for Derek to respond

Derek drank in the silence, as it allowed him time to get a handle on what was going on in his head. He was having some non-familial feelings for his older brother. It didn’t feel wrong, which made him feel unsure about them. He drank a few more beers when they were given to him as he thought it over more. He looked up when Lee brought up the new topic of conversation. He blushed when it became obvious he had to go first.

“Umm, well, I dunno. I haven’t ever done anything with a girl and as for alone, I never really tried too much because I haven’t had all that much alone time. How about you bro? What have you done?” Derek asked trying to take the focus off of himself, trying to avoid some revelations about himself and what he was really into as long as possible.

Lee sat there and listened to his brother while he started another beer, smiling as he watched Derek blush. Lee was quite good at reading people and could tell there was more but decided to let it go for now. He sit's back in the sofa and crosses one leg over the other with his arm over the back of the sofa and the other on his own knee. Taking a swig of his beer and thinking what to tell him and what to leave out. Lee clears his throat and begins to talk.

"Well there have been a couple of girls while I've been living here. I was with Jane for about 2 years before that turned sour, seemed she had a problem keeping her legs closed with other. Sarah was more of a fling, she lived here for a while and went on her way. As for alone time...." Lee starts giggling "I usually make time for myself, if you know what I mean.... a little wrist exercising."

Lee looked over to Derek in the hope he may be a little more open now that he has. Looking into his brother eyes as he waits for a response.
