Leovin stalked through the forest, completely alert and ready for anything. He was hot on the trail of his target. He could see the signs and knew that they had gone that way down the trail. He stayed off the trails and ran silently through the trees. He'd been assigned this target by the lead hunters. It had taken a week to learn the town and a few days to travel there. He'd been carefully searching for them for five days since arriving in town. Now he knew where she was and it was time to strike.
He came to a clearing and stopped, looking past some trees. She wasn't there. With a sigh he ran his fingers through his short brown hair. His light blue eyes gleamed in the moonlight. After making sure no one would see him his body sprang into action again. The 6'3" broad shouldered frame bolted across the clearing. Despite his speed his footsteps were soft, barely leaving a mark or making a noise.
Once again he went through the forest by the trail. He felt he was getting very close. He had a good sense of it. He'd spent years training as a hunter and his instincts were sharpened along with his agility and reflexes. Now he was on the hunt for the main prey of the order. A vampire.
As the forest came to an end he saw that the trail continued down a hill toward a cabin. He could see a figure close to the cabin. It was definitely feminine and from the way she was carrying herself he knew she was the one he was looking for. He slowly crept down the hill, staying out of sight as much as he could. His dark coat helped him blend into the night. As he neared the cabin he drew out his weapons. A long silver stake in one hand and a cross in the other. He reached the building and slowly peeked into one of the windows, looking for his prey and planning his attack.
