The city of Bay Harbor was like many other cities. A metropolitan little hub of business with a lovely view of the eponymous bay, presently sparkling under the late afternoon sun. With the late afternoon came the ringing of the bells, which let out the pent-up students of the Sacred Heart School for Girls into the streets of the city. Among them was Lilia, a pale, fiery-haired young lady of few words. At 5'9" she towered over many of the other girls, and those she couldn't physically stare down, she certainly had the personality to manage it, the sort of burning look that seeped right into eyes that bordered on the golden. She had just finished the ever-horrible biology class when the bell had rang, and before long, she started off into the streets of the city on her way home.
In other ways, the city of Bay Harbor was very much unlike other cities in the world. It was home to a nexus of mystic energy that very rarely naturally occurred in this world. For every breach of that magic into this world, there had to be someone to plug it up; those that were tasked with such a thing just happened to be a team of five young women who resided in the city. Of them, Lilia was touched by fire; an irony that the naturally red Lilia was loath to admit to. She was unquestionably the strongest of the team of five, larger than the others, older by a year, and something of a lone wolf for it.
The other girls had managed to get her to soften up a bit since they had been touched by the crystal ornaments that had become their artifacts of power. Presently, the fiery little stone (that was even warm to the touch), glowed ever so softly in a little pouch she'd had tied to a necklace, keeping her stone close at hand at her neck at every moment. But for all that they had managed to cause her outer layer to crack, even a little bit, she was still a year ahead of them all, and was the only one at her particular school, leading her to make the trip across town to their usual meeting spot; a pleasant gazebo in the park where Karen (their tomboyish friend) would have undoubtedly brought smoothies for them to enjoy.
Lilia smiled softly to herself as she turned down an alleyway. The city was full of 'em, and there were quite a few little shortcuts between here and the park. Considering the other four some of her dearest (heck, only) friends, Lilia was always excited to see them, and generally flitted from alleyway to sidestreet to driveway that just happened to have an easily-hoppable fence. Besides, a quick little shortcut through an alleyway wouldn't hurt. Especially not to the Knight of Fire.
