As Far as Shapeshifters go, there are werewolves, some mermaids and magick users. There are also Noble shifters.
These are the few people who posses the ability to completely into another species of animal without having any part look human, and without needing any magick to change.

ShadowFlight is a rare breed of shifter. Her 'other being' is a mythical creature.
She's a Dragon.

Shadowflight serveyed the forest below her from the comfort of her cave. Her day had been fairly boring and the prey had been all too easy to catch. With a yawn, she transformed from her massive silver reptilian form, and stood.
Her hair was silver with black streaks, and two ice-blue eyes peaked out from under her bangs. Shadow didn't have an overly impressive human height; she was only about five and a half inches tall.
"I better find something to do or I'll die of boredom." She said, giggling at the thought. Dragons were well known for their incredibly long lifespans of about 700 years.
