If there was one thing she was doing the best, it had to be studying. However, it wasn't just simple hard work. Sure, ninety percent consisted of her will to have only the best grades, but behind those emerald green eyes was a brilliant mind, a calculating person who strove for the best results. On the other hand, it was only expected for a girl like Alessia to look out for the perfect grades, given her big dreams and the strong wish to have a better life than what she was going through right now. Her parents were always the type of people who would rather work hard for something even if it wasn't paid enough for them to keep up with the bills and their own child's needs. Thus, the only chance she could change this was to have a better job in the future unlike her mother and her father, to have enough money to spoil herself and finally have everything she wished. She could probably call herself a materialistic person, but she knew she would never do something like marrying a rich man only to have what she wanted. She was going to work by herself and get there, to the top, to get that job fair and square.
However, going back to the present, these were still just dreams. The present situation consisted of a tiring and dull high school life. While the other classmates would enjoy their pretty and fun years of high school, she was doomed to studying continuously, working part-time for a shitty payment and attending all the classes accordingly. Needless to say her parents were proud of her, but even the brunette had her times when she felt like screwing up everything because she couldn't cope with this lifestyle anymore. Yet, no one could see this. What everybody saw was a diligent, exceptionally smart student who probably didn't know what was a party, what was like to get drunk, and surely had to be a virgin because no one would actually date a nerdy girl. Of course she was pissed off with their mentality. These people didn't have an ounce of brain to actually see behind the appearances, because behind the image she had, lied a girl who probably had a mind just as dirty as anyone else. Not only because she was a materialistic smart person, but also because at times even her mind drifted to lustful scenarios. But, she would always blame it on the lack of romance and love in her life and simply conclude that it was normal for an eighteen years old to have some wet dreams now and then. After all, there was no way someone could be this perfect and innocent.
Today as well, for example, the brunette's mind was somewhere else, far away from the lesson going on. Not that it would affect her grades. Looking over her notes would be enough to understand the lesson and get an A in the next test. Thus, it was inevitable for the eyeglasses girl to simply pay attention to the teacher as she mindlessly scribbled down what seemed like important things regarding the lesson, while she actually imagined what it would be like to actually have a different life. To have no worry in the world, to have a boyfriend, friends, to have fun and yet have the same grades. How lovely it would be. Also, to have all those pretty clothes the other girls had, to have all those things they had. A light sigh escaped her lips. Who was she kidding? She was the girl nobody talked to, the girl who always wore eyeglasses, her long hair in a pony tail and her clothes usually consisted of a white shirt, a black cardigan and a beige skirt along with the usual flat black pumps, alternating between three or four outfits every single day. She had no friends, and the only people who actually treated her nicely were the teachers, who seemed to pity her because of her situation back at home.
