Cain, Dark Magnate of Horrors and Shadows
Cain in the shadows
Cain in the light
Description
A demon of average human height, the Dark Magnate does not strike fear into those with his appearance. In fact, one would become filled with a sense of confidence that a single strike would befall this particular demon, whose physique could aptly be described as tone. His chin length strands, the color of crimson, draped upon his face, framing his cocky smirk. And while from a simple silhouette one would presume this person to be a man, upon closer inspection he is anything but.
Black tattoos ran up and down his exposed chest and waist, his arms and legs covered by tight black leather. In the darkness of night his markings took on the appearance of a void in his flesh. His golden irises beaming down at you, piercing the darkness.
At his choosing, the monster would extend his bat-like wings, the leathery membrane stretched between thin, black, bonelike fingers, deadly and sharp to the touch. And while simply twice the size of his arm span, it allowed the Demon to fly over his kingdom with great ease.
Background
Cain was not always in power. Once a servant to the now deceased Lord Zitor of the dark world Xylindis, Cain would find a way to take the power he felt was his to wield. Enticing his Lord into battle, the Dark Magnate pressed his Lord to take risks, proclaiming that his strategy against the Heavens was sound and their God would break. But then the Lord’s heart was ripped lose, the cunning demon would look down on his master with disdain as he watched the Lord expire, grasping at Cain’s leathery boots.
Cain had struck a deal with the Heavens, in secret. Knowing defeat was at their door, the Heavens pleaded with Cain to betray his master, giving him the throne of Xylandis. An enticing offer to be sure, Cain reveled in manipulating his Lord and now plots to expand his empire of darkness. The Heavens through they were buying their freedom, but in allowing Cain to rule Xylandis, they began a countdown to their permanent enslavement.
World
Xylandis is a world of death and shadows, where flowing lava runs freely from most of the highest peaks and a barren wasteland rests between the ranges of fire where the lesser demons and phantoms roam aimlessly, waiting to torment the helpless and weak. The obsidian rocks and the dry, dusty fields are home to the nightmares of all creatures. In their warped minds, they see Xylandis and watch helplessly as their darkest fears and insecurities are played out before them in a slow and agonizing fashion. Dreams so powerful that those that wake up swear they are not dreams but memories…if they even wake up at all.
High in the mountains is Castle Yanin, where lakes of fire and molten rock run through the castle built into the obsidian. The walls are dark and those that look into it would see their own reflection in the darkness. The castle consisted of large rooms, connected by thin pathways between them, with each room hosting horrors of unsuspecting victims. The throne room is decorated with black chains, in patterns similar to a spider’s web. And in the middle, rests a onyx throne, polished for the Dark Magnate to sit and plot his next moves
Minions
Xylandis is where nightmare breed and fester, and the terrors are brought in the guise of demons, phantoms, and liches.
The Demons were human in appearance, with bat like wings sprouting from their backs. Considered to be the front line, they brought horror, fear, and terror to creatures good and bad. Their skin is a pale gray, and their bodies are always lean and toned. They are highly intelligent and manipulative, often seeking amusement in the chaos they can bring with their words, rather than their actions. Both males and females come off as slightly feminine in appearance due to their builds and can wield basic magic, but are no match for Liches. The
women are overly aggressive, often killing their mates in the heat of sexual passion, smothering their faces with their hot cunts or choking their victims mid coitus. The males, equally aggressive, are more likely to drive their partners insane, and find great glee in leaving their victims alive…but in horrible, twisted, states. It is because of this that Demons are not allowed to make with one another, and find their opposite sexes unattractive.
Phantoms come in many shades and vapors, and rarely in solids. In their normal appearance, they resemble skulls and a disfigured skeleton upper body. Able to change shapes, they easily blend into the environment and make for excellent spies. However when needed, they are able to materialize part of their forms at great expense to their energy. This has made Phantoms silent killers, able to sneak in and strike with precision against all foes of the Dark Magnate. Often considered the most serious of all Xylandis’ creatures. When not in their ghostly visage, they tend to socialize in a more humanlike (
male|
female) appearance.
Liches are skeletons, draped with small bits of rotting flesh, and covered by torn black robes lined with silver. They command the physical manifestations of the dead, as well as the memories of the fallen. And while their magic is powerful, their physical forms are so frail that a single strike will fall them. However, getting close to a Lich is easier said than done, as their spells deflect arrows and those that come within a handful of meters pass through their sphere of power, ripping flesh from their bones before ripping their muscles asunder. They also tell the best jokes and are quite fond of cats.
Nypmhs are creatures of pure lust. They like to have sex with anything and everything.
Ghouls are considered the lowliest of Xylandis' creatures. Often resembling decaying perverted semblances of their former races, shambling about with sunken onyx eyes and thin, unkempt hair. Virtually useless in battle, the Ghouls were used as slaves to the Demons, Phantoms, and Liches. They roam the desolate valleys of Xylandis often with small bits of their former lives, eating dirt and bugs. Sometimes they are useful to make a fleshwall with in battle, but mostly they are best at lugging large objects around for their masters.
Blessings
Mind Reader. Around Cain, your thoughts are not your own. He is able to see into your mind, flicking through your secrets. Given enough time, Cain will know you better than you know yourself.
Dance of the Incubus. Cain was once in a relationship with a succubus from another realm. She taught him things...or so she thought. Afterall, how else would he have learned how to make a succubus cum like a wanton whore, right? ...Right?
Unearthly Beauty. Cain was a vain one, and his lust for power led him to trade off his love, a succubus, for the deceptive powers that would disarm those around him, making them fall for his physical appearance with great ease.
