RP: Jacobs Ladder ( 1x1 Horror Show and Dogged)

Anna was in the kitchen getting appetizers ready for the surprise party they were throwing for Jacob. It was being thrown by her mother. Jacob was kind of like family, kind of like a close uncle or cousin from as much he had been in Anna’s life. Her father had grown up with Jacob, so they were best friends, he was Anna’s best man when he got married, and he was involved in every major event of her life. When he was twenty five when Anna was a small girl, he had decided to sign up for the army. Jacob had a different life style, small family, had some girlfriends, but nothing serious, her father always said he wanted purpose and serving the country would give him that. He had been dismissed from the army over six months ago but had been in a hospital recovering. His infantry had supposedly gone under fire and things had gone out of hand. Jacob had gotten wounded, so he got an honorable discharge

They had decorated the place with balloons and banners, lots of people had brought gifts, they had ordered pizza, coolers were filled sodas and beers. Lots of family and close friends were invited. Their father was in the back grilling out hamburgers and hotdogs. Anna sat some things on one table set out. People were slowly starting to show up. Her mother was like a chicken with her head cut off trying to make sure everything was perfect. Lots of people were dressed nice, but Anna was clad in blue jeans and a gray t-shirt with a baseball logo on it, it was pulled over a black tank, she was just in socks. Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a messy pony tail. She was more of a girl next store type of girl than fancy or high class. She grew up as a tom boy. She was still very much a beautiful glowing young girl, just getting ready to start college.

Someone had put on a cd into the sound system; several speakers were built into the house. Don’t bring me down by ELO was playing. Her father and Jacob liked a lot of hippie and 70’s music from when they were younger. Her Dad winked kind of bobbing his head making Anna roll her eyes and head outside where you could still hear it. Some other people were already drinking and socializing. Anna saw a pickup truck pull up. She saw a man in it, she knew it was Jacob.
