Where rivers flow upside
It's been five years, five torturous years, since a young man in his teens was forced to take a new concept of reality. Back then, he had the typical teenage stresses and goals, saving up for a car, getting that summer job, and finally asking out that cute redhead in biology class. But that all got replaced by the dark emotion of revenge. It was a spring night, school was almost out for the summer and he took his younger sister out to the movies for her birthday. But on the way home they ran into what they simply thought to be hoodlums at first. That thought quickly left him when he found himself making an imprint in the hood of a car from a one armed toss. He was left with no choice but to watch them take his sister away while he laid on the car unable to move.

Now at the age of twenty four that lanky teenager with a crew cut was long gone. He was instead replaced with an athletic adult, whose sandy blond hair grew into a shaggy mane. Once kind green eyes intense with anger. The assialants he quickly learned, were vampires, not the ones you'd see in some sappy romance either. They were blood thirsty, they were strong, they were fast. But he studied as much as he could in defeating them.

That had been his job for the last four years, only awake during the night hours so he could hunt his prey. Tonight wasn't any exception as he busted into the remains of an old gothic night club. It had been closed for years due to a mass murder that went unsolved. But Harry knew, it was now serving as a headquarters for the fang faces he despised. He took out the two at the door with a pair of silver knives. And came with his gun blazing, a nice little hand cannon that pumped molten hot silver into the hearts into the hearts of his foes. He gave up questioning them long ago when he was presented with a photo of her corpse with a nice pair of neck wounds. Now it was just extermination, but a sight in the back of the bulding suddenly stayed his hand

Nancy had been 'adopted,' if you will into this clan of beings. She was never able to return home, after what happened those 5 years ago. A mere teenager just turned 17, her brother taking her to see a movie that evening. She had hopes and dreams like any other teenager, having a crush on a handsome boy, with auburn hair, he was in her English class. Nancy wanted to be a baker when she got out of school, her dreams had been spoiled. On her 17th birthday going out as her brother treated her to a movie, they were attacked. A gang of sorts had attacked them throwing her brother on a hood of a car, not seeing him move as she called and fought against the group, thinking he was dead. They dragged her away and decided to turn her, she was one of them a creature of the night. Unable to step foot in the sun light, or go back to school, she was a missing persons case, until the search was called off, they kept her well hidden as they taught her the ways of there world. Nancy couldn't eat normal food anymore, unable to digest it having to feed off of the blood of others.

Nancy was now 22 years old, but still looked 17. Her warm lightly tan skin, now porcelain white and cold her blue eyes became as blue as a sapphire and changed to a deep violet when thirsty. She gained the speed, strength, and hunger of them, but she remained beautiful. Nancy's sandy blonde hair that was once straight formed into gentle curls, hanging lightly in her face. She had been shown photos of her brothers lifeless body on the car, being told that he was dead. Nancy fell into a deep depression he was dead because of her, it was her birthday, they wouldn't have been out so late if they hadn't gone. She sat in a chair toward the back of the room, Suddenly hearing screams and a loud bang she hopped up looking to see what it was. A hunter, a hunter had found them, normally she would run, but for some reason she stayed still looking at the man before them killing a few. He looked familliar...she couldn't get too good of a look for she was being pushed out by other members, though fighting against them to see.

Harry only had a moment to pause and try to get a look at the oddly familiar looking vampire, before the other fang faces came charging in at him. Once more relying on one of his trusty knives to stave off the attacking vampires. This was bad, there were too many for a solo raid. And here he was in the thick of things. He could try to retreat, but he was human, and they were vampires turning his back on them with their speed would be foolish. But there was something compelling him to advance further into the room, to get a closer look at the woman who wasn't attacking with the others.

The force seemed to be guiding his reflexes, telling him when to duck, when to shoot, when to thrust with his knife, every move required to further carve himself a path. By some miracle he fought through a score of vampires and survived. And now he got what he wanted a closer look at this woman. Things were different, but the resemblance was uncanny, have the fang faces lied about killing her the whole time?
"Nan-"

That pause in motion he took to speak her name cost him, for Harry soon found himself in a very familiar position. A vampire grasping him by the throat and tossing him a considerable distance with minimal effort. A column broke his flight, casing him to make a nice imprint into the marble beam.

A tall vampire that looked to be some teenage urchin looked down at Harry then flicked his gaze over to Nancy.

"Were you day dreaming? That man would have killed you and you just stood there"

Nancy just stood and watched the hunter fight against the vampires. Most of the coven was in this gothic place, he was out numbered. She didn't know what to do, her instinct told her to fight or to run, but all she did was stand there. Nancy had a feeling telling her to stay there was something different about this one. He looked so familiar yet so changed, continuing to stand there to get a better look.  Nancy was the black sheep of the coven, she hated this 'gift' wanting to go home but knowing she couldn't, she'd hardly feed unless driven or forced to do so, if she did willingly she'd try not to kill. Whether it was human or animal, wanting to hold onto her humanity, since she was kidnapped and all.

Standing as still as a statue she watched the hunter make his way toward her, why her? He seemed so determined to fight his way toward her. If this was her end so be it, with her bother dead and unable to go home and live a normal life what was the point?  Nancy looked the man over, was it him? 'No it couldn't be they killed him.' she thought then her eyes widened slightly, it sounded like he was about to say her name.

He knew her, unless they lied to her that man couldn't be her brother, her brother was always well kept remembering him at 19 no way he could change so much in five years? The next thing she knew a taller vampire came and grabbed him by the throat like so many years ago.  She was about to scream but thought better of it, she didn't need a whole coven against her.

"So what? Maybe I long for death? It'd be better than this, hiding from the day and from others." Nancy hissed at the man glaring back at him.

The taller vampire shakes his head at Nancy's reply maybe he should have just killed her and her brother. He would have had a nice meal and not have to deal with her lack of gratitude she was always so quick to show. From what looked to be a single side step he closed the distance between him and Nancy.

"If you so wish it I could end you in an instant. With a mere snap of my fingers. But, we don't do that to family. And that's what we are, family."

He produces a small knife, he gently let the cool metal of the blade glide against her arm. Simply a tease against the flesh,he draws the blade away flipping it over in his hand to where the handle pointed toward Nancy

"Now sister...how about you do the honors? This man has plagued our coven for the past four years. But I am generous enough to let you be the one to crack him open. I know you have been starving yourself again. The hunger must be eating you alive. And now this buffet lays before you, go ahead, feast"

Unlike five years ago Harry didn't lay there immobile. But it still hurt him, the impact having him disoriented, his balance failing him. All he could really do was sit up.

"Something something...darkside. You lost your touch, ran out of car's to throw me into?"

Well, it seemed Harry's mouth still worked. So there's that.

Nancy normally kept to herself and kept quiet as to not cause conflict. The two never seemed to get along, he being the one who turned her those years ago. She looked at the taller vampire as he closed the distance.

"Oh I know you could, and for some reason you don't...end my suffering end yours having to put up with me." She stated softly.

Feeling the cold blade on her arm. Watching as it grazed her skin before he held it out to her.  She looked at it, then to him.

Shaking her head slightly "I'm not hungry.." She stated obviously a lie since her eyes had turned violet and continues to brighten.  "...and I'm not your sister..." she stated just as soft still heart broken over her brother. Sure she was in pain from not feeding, it was driving her mad, her temper toward him also changed when she was hungry normally quiet but she'd get mouthy when she hadn't fed for long periods. "I told you...I'm not hungry..." she stated.

"You keep starving yourself, you will become something worse than us. You remember Alaster don't you? He was uppity just like you. But no matter how much you try, you will give in to the hunger. And you'll wind up some mindless ravenous beast."

The vampire turnned to Harry who began pulling himself to his feet. This man was talking too much, he knew exactly who he was. And him being around was certainly not going to help. So he decided if Nancy wasn't going to seal the deal, then he must.

"A pity, he comes from rich blood"

Harry managed to raise his gun and fire. It missed it's mark clipping the vampire in the shoulder. It wasn't lethal, but oh how it burned. He hissed outwardly at the pain rocking through him. He couldn't think straight it burned so. In a black vapour he vanished

"I have it under control.." she stated she didn't want to become worse than them, but the idea of feeding, about taking another's life, bothered her.  "Yes I remember him..." She stated
He was like her one they 'adopted' and he fed less than she did he became a compete monster feeding from the living and recently feed vampires tearing anything apart. She had like Alaster before that.

As the Vampire turned his attention the the human she did as well watching him pull himself up.

"I don't care about what blood type he is." She spat at him.

Nancy jumped as the gun fired and the vampire hiss in pain.  watching him vanish after seeing that the other vampires in the room besides her scattered. Nancy watched him carefully slowly approaching him, trying to show she meant no harm instead of her normal fast movements. But the tall one seemed to want to keep her away from him besides her killing him to feed and she didn't know why. Nancy wanted a better look her curiosity was sparked plus he knew her name.

Harry laid down his fire arm, he was spent on ammo, and it seemed this woman he thinks is Nancy had no interest in harming him. Which was good, getting tossed though that column really ruined his chances of fighting his way out of here. He watched the woman, letting himself plop down to a seated position once more. If this was Nancy, he hoped she remembered him and that there was some humanity left in her. But he knew that was a high hope, a foolish one to follow. But he thought she was dead for so long, why not cling to this hope

"Nancy?" He said once more now that he was able to complete his sentence.

Nancy watched the man closely as he put the gun down. Still carefully walking over to him, just to be sure she didn't know if it was empty or not. She got close but kept her distance, knowing he had other weapons.

Nancy tilted her head to the side, "You know my name? How?" she asked curiously. His bone structure looked similar and his eyes but she wasn't 100% sure about it. Looking Into his eyes "Harry?" she whispered

His hopes seemed to shatter when she asked her first question. Either the woman wasn't his sister, or she had forgotten who he was. It was a pain that rocked through him, it was like that night allover again. But much much worse.

But then she said his name, causing him to perk his head up. He slowly raises his hand to stroke her cheek.

"Yeah, I'm harry"

Nancy's eyes widened, she was in shock, could this really be her Harry? He was grown up now, but it couldn't be him.
She smiled softly as his hand caressed her cheek. Taking her hand gently running her fingers through his hair. "So changed, it's been so long." she cooed softly still shocked. Taking her hand away and placing her other hand on his that was stroking her cheek. If it wasn't actually Harry, this man had the perfect opportunity to kill her where she knelt.

"But how? Your dead...they told me so, they showed me pictures of you, I saw you, dead on the car you didn't move, it didn't look like you were breathing...." she asked curiously red tears of blood began to run down her eyes, remembering what happened.

"I was dead, for about three minutes. Luckily there was an elderly woman there that called 911 when she saw what was going on. The paramedics came in time to revive. It's been so painful without you around, everyone at the college thought I went crazy, they eventually kicked me out because they thought I would harm others. I thought you were dead too, when I first started hunting they showed me photos. Then they spoke on and on about how they drained you until there was nothing left. "

His green eyes softened with sadness when he began to replay the events and the aftermath in his mind. That moment was life changing, as it would be for anyone. But seeing her infront of him made her being a vampire the last thing on his mind. Though he did find his sister crying tears of blood just a little unsettling, he still brought up his hand to wipe away thos crimson streaks.

"I missed you"

Nancy listened to him as he explained what happened. "I'm sorry, Harry...I didn't mean to go away, they took me away....Do people think I'm...That I'm dead?" she asked curiously.  "I heard talk of someone wanting to drain me...but the one who threw you was the one who changed me...he decided to keep me for some reason."

Nancy continued to cry it had been so long since she saw her brother who she thought was dead. Nancy was lost and scared being a vampire was still fairly new to her.  She was so happy to see him to see a familiar face.  Nancy smiled softly as he wiped  her tears. "I've missed you too"

Harry nodded in response to her question. "Yeah there is a little memorial on the street where it all happened. Mom and dad are still holding hope. I never showed or told them about the photos I seen. I was going to keep that to the grave, because I know it would be too much...it was too much for me."

He sighed, looking about the area and cringed a moment "How about we get out of here? I know this wasn't the entire coven, and I'm sure they'll come back"

Nancy fround at knowing they thought she was dead. "Thanks for not showing them...let them hope, I miss them. I'm sorry..."

Seeing him cringe, "No there are more much more. Come on let me help you. Yes they'll come back." She stated as she went to help him up.

Harry used his sister's assistance to help get himself back to his feet. The strength of his sister startled him, even though it shouldn't. She could have lifted him easily on her own. Now that he was back to his feet he found himself regaining his balance

"My car is a bit aways...well you know about the hearing you guys have"

Nancy helped him To his feet. Granted she could feel the blood pulsing through his veins. Her eyes grew a brighter and deeper violet color, having not have fed. Letting go of him, as he regained his balanced.

Nancy tilted her head as he mentioned her hearing. "What about our hearing?" she asked curiously.
Walking with him to his car.

Harry caught notice of her eyes, he had see them that color before, it was quite pretty, yet unsettling at the same time.He tried to ignore it for the moment, she probably didn't want him asking a bunch of questions about the changes she went through. The car was about a mile away from the site, appearently he was play it safe on his sneak attack of the coven.

"It's very hard to sneak up on you guys,I've had many failed attempts to learn about that very quickly"

Nancy was fighting her hunger, she had the urge to wanna drink from him, but she was fighting against it. For the first time in 5 years she was with her brother, who she thought dead, and didn't want to harm him or have him harm her. Nor did she want to fight or spoil them reuniting. She wondered where the car was, he parked far off granted they would've heard a car pull up if it was closer.

"Oh..I see..yeah I assume it's challenging." She stated. Nancy went to her own thoughts, If he was a hunter and she was a vampire, she wondered how that would work, would he try to hunt her like the others or let her be because they were family? Her mind was cluttered at the moment.
