Had any of the passengers of the cruise ship the Fair Weather known what was lurking beneath the waves they would never have even considered sailing across the ocean. Many would have moved as inland as possible if they had discovered what horror lurked beneath those waters. But no one had even the slightest idea that there were things wandering the ocean floor that rivaled humanity for domination, creatures that didnâ??t carry the human weaknesses of sympathy or compassion. And after years of humans polluting their waters and destroying their food sources, the creatures that lived beneath the waves were forced to seek out food elsewhereâ?¦
â??Theyâ??re coming over the side!â? one of the sailors shouted to the crew amongst the crowd of passengers fleeing for their lives. The deck was packed with people trying to escape from the attack all trying for different directions. The initial wave of people had tried to make for the lifeboats, thinking they could make a break for it themselves. Those had been the first to die.
â??Get the guns! Get the gu-â? The sailorâ??s breath died in his throat as one of the attackers lurched at him from amidst the crowd. It was huge, at least seven feet tall with humanoid form. The thing was something that appeared half-man and half-fish, but its large red eyes betrayed any notion that it carried any humanity. The creatures slashed the manâ??s neck open in a spray of blood with its clawed, webbed hands letting him fall dead to the ground as it continued pushing through the crowd.
Such creatures were all over the ship, grabbing food and slaughtering the men. It was only the men who were killed though. Any woman in their path the beasts dragged down, keeping them trapped underneath their large bodies for some sinister purpose. So far any attempt to stop the beasts had been met with disaster, the ship soon becoming overrun as the passengers tried to barricade themselves in the lower decks.
