Slashed007 said:The day seemed perilously long as the rain poured for hours, the sky a continual grey. Each second seemed to pass as if it were an hour as Aubrey hacked away at her homework. This week had been non-stop bombardment with work, her honors classes were killing her. She often quelled her stress and aggravation with reminding herself that she would be graduating this year. Her last year in a high school, she could hardly believe it. Just yesterday Aubrey remembered being an awkward freshmen, aimlessly searching for a group of friends that she never attained. That first year had been tough for her, especially since she desperately wanted some friends. After a while being friendless became easy, and Aubrey got use to eating lunch alone, staying quiet, and doing everything that she needed to do. By senior year she was a professional at being invisible.
Aubrey, although invisible at school really loved her family, but of course she was the quiet one. Her mother and father spent their days wrapped up in the business world, but at the same time had kids they cherished. Her mom could articulate her speech so well and say exactly what she was thinking without fear. Aubrey wished that trait had been passed to her, and maybe then she would have made friends. Her father could possibly be the most stubborn and intelligent man on earth. Aubrey often thinks that she received his intelligence, but sadly his confidence and stubborn nature did not get passed to her. Her siblings seemed to get all the useful traits.
Aubrey usually spent her time with her siblings since her mother and father would request them to come home and stay with her when they went away. Business trips often meant weeks without a parental figure, and therefore her parents wanted to make sure she had someone at home with her. Aubrey truly appreciated that her siblings came home, even though Aubrey could take of herself she liked the company. When her sister remained home she often picked on Aubrey, but this never bothered her too much. Aubrey knew her sister didn’t have to come home for her, and yet she always did, so complaining about it never really seemed fitting. Her brother on the other hand never picked on her, and instead always attempts to start a conversation. Aubrey often not knowing what to say can never make the conversation last.
A deep sigh escaped Aubrey’s pinks lips as her mind continuously strays from her homework. Once again looking up from her desk and peering out the window she watched the rain fall and decided she would give her homework a rest. A short break didn’t seem too dangerous.
James spyed on Aubrey from behind the ajar door to her room. He was hesitant to go in and interupt her with idle conversation. She was so intent on her work, she hardly noticed him. It was fascinating. When James had been that age, he'd been more focused on girls - especially the college girls his Big Sister, introduced him to - to really care about his schoolwork - which was just the standard curriculum, not that advanced stuff Aubrey constantly brought home. That was the one thing he couldn't get about his little sister. Once she started working, she was oblivious to all else.
Another thing he couldn't get out of his head was how good she looked. She wasn't as busty or toned as Big Sister, but she certainly had a body. James wasn't sure why she didn't have a boyfriend. She was the type of girl he'd have loved to jump all over - if he didn't have an overbearing older sister breathing down his neck. He just couldn't get enough of his little sister's hot young body.
It hadn't always been that way, of course. At first, he hated Aubrey. She was an interloper in his little world that consisted of himself, Big Sister, and thier parents. Suddenly, he was no longer Baby Brother. Now, he was Big Brother to a Baby Sister. Oh how he'd hated that squalling infant and that meddlesome little girl. He'd especially been afraid she would turn Big Sister against him. At least he could hold his own against 1 girl, and find his way onto her good side. Against 2 girls, he was outnumbered. He made it known he did not like nor want Aubrey around. But then - she grew up...
Suddenly, a pair of strong arms whipped around his chest, and something soft mashed against his back.
"High, Baby Brother," whispered Jessica, in his ear. She gave him a kiss on the cheek as she pulled him back into the hallway. Jessica had always loved her little brother. She'd been very excited and eager to help when she heard her mother was pregnant. When James was just an infant, Jessica would sit down next to him and play with him, teasing him with his toys, trying to pick him up, or just pretending to talk to him about "big kid" things. As he got older, the 2 became inseperable friends. Jessica had always been the princess of hte family, and in James, she had a loyal disciple. Then Aubrey was born. All the care and attention that was once hers suddenly went to the new baby. Because she was much older, Jessica had more responsibilities than just playing with the new baby - she had to sometimes change the diapers, fetch the bottle, and keep Aubrey out of danger. It had all been fun and games with James. But through it all, James was her unyielding sidekick. Jessica had carried and nurtured their companionship through high school and college, and into her adult life. Now she stood behind James, clutching him in a revere embrace, cuddling up against him. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to watch the Worm," he replied. "What's your excuse?"
"Someone had to make sure Aubrey wasn't planning a party and inviting all the boys. If I'd known you'd be here, I'd have gone out on the town tonight. Perhaps I still can." She kissed James again, this time close to his mouth.
"Jess! Not hear! What if Aubrey sees us?"
"We can go into your old room. Aubrey won't bother us in there." With a mischievious grin, Jessica lead her brother to his old childhood bedroom, and shut the door behind them. James barely had time to lock the door when Jessica threw her arms around him and kissed him in the lips.
