Century after century, millennia after millennia, she sat there waiting. Waiting for that portal to open again. Long ago when light first touched the gates of hell there was a portal that opened. It was a portal to the surface world, the world that so few knew of her kind visited but all knew about; the world that Winry wanted to explore. There were many stories, many stories about her kind rising to the surface and going beyond the portal, some would say there were rumors that mortals and demons alike would be summoned through that gate to go to the other side. But alas, those were just rumors and stories to be shared with children and told around a campfire. But every time there was something, something in her that told her to stay by that place, to keep looking for that portal.

Every morrow in the same spot Winry sat looking at the Moon Well, the well that is said to have brought on the portal to freedom, freedom from this god forsaken place. The young succubus looked around her; demons and empty space. Same shit, different day. But not beyond the portal, no beyond the gate is a whole new world. Yes a world where she can wreak havoc and destruction, where chaos would rein supreme. A place where she could be free, to actually live. As a child she would hear tales of the surface world, how humans would draw up blood contracts with them and commanded demons to do their bidding and in turn they could stay on the surface world just as long as they did as they were told. However, Winry was a different breed of demon. She refused to be controlled; she refused to be chained by some meager command word or bound by a contract. No, she wanted her own means of getting to the surface world, to have no leash and collar. What kind of demon takes orders from a human? A more primitive species than she who would die in a matter of a century. She was a proud Succubus one who knew almost everything and had blended in with the mortal world for almost a decade now.

Humans knew nothing of death, of necromancy, nothing of how to really kill something and watch it slowly die. No they were too busy fighting amongst themselves about who has more money or who holds more power. Confused creatures that were afraid of death, afraid of what they did not know and more susceptible to think that the next man wants them dead. They didn’t trust each other, so how were they able to trust a demon long enough to draw up a contract?

Now with the world in turmoil humans have no choice but to rely on demons since the conventional methods weren’t working they’d figure what better way to get rid of a demon than another demon? Using fire to fight with fire however, everyone knows that playing with fire gets you burned…

Had the stars always been this bright? Dante couldn't remember the last time he just sat and looked at the stars. He was laying on the hood of his car, waiting for a text. He wanted to be ready to leave at a moments notice. But time stretched on, and he was falling asleep as the cool breeze washed over his face. He bolted upright when he heard his phone go off, almost falling off his car. He hastily regained his balance and answered his phone with a quick "Find anything yet?" It took a moment before the other voice answered. "Umm...not what we were expecting." Dante's heart plummeted. "Its not the ritual site?" The voice was frustrated and tired. "I didn't say that. Its just...I'm not sure how it works..." Dante's hopes rose again. "What did you find? A door? An archway? Some mystic symbols drawn in a circle?" Another pause followed by an audible sigh. "Its a fucking....pool."

Dante's car skidded to a stop. He parked his car next to another car he recognized by the side of the road. His lights went out and he slammed his door shut, rushing over to the entrance of the cave. Just before he got there, a figure walked out of the darkness of the cave and into the moonlight. Dante stopped to talk to the man, but he kept walking. "Bernard! Where are you going?!" Bernard stopped and turned his head to the side. "Its another dead end Dante...I'll do some more research to make sure, but..." Bernard shook his head and started walking off again. "I don't know how some stupid pool of water is going to help us summon the demon we need." He opened the door to his car and stopped to give Dante a final exhausted look. "You can take a look at it if you want, but I suggest we call it a night." And then he was gone.

Dante watched the other car shrink into the distance, his heart sinking with it. But he was too stubborn to turn away now. He turned around and walked into the cave. He knew where he was going by heart now. He and Bernard had been digging their way into this cave for quite some time. Dante finally got to the part of the cave where he had left Bernard to dig by himself. Dante had been working relentlessly to dig to the ritual site he knew must be in the cave, but Bernard insisted that he take a break. Dante grudgingly agreed to let Bernard dig by himself for a while, but he knew they were close. Dante could feel it. And Dante had been right.

There was an opening into another room where a wall had been hours ago. Dante carefully went through and found himself in a huge dome shaped room with a large lake in the center. A small waterfall as well as a large beam of moonlight penetrated the ceiling of the room. The rushing water echoed around the room and watery reflections gave the walls an odd sort of motion. Despite this discovery it was, overall, a disappointment. Dante walked over to the edge of the seemingly glowing water and bent to his knees to gaze beyond the surface. There was nothing out of the ordinary...nothing to keep Dante's hopes from crashing down around him again. He nodded to himself, accepting defeat, a tear rolling down his cheek and falling into the water.

The Moonwell… the source of all the powers of the Elves. Centuries and Millennia, this well provided her kind with everything they needed. The dome shaped structure was built to hone the skills of training Elves who wanted to practice and so that the source of magi didn’t break. A circle is endless, and therefore magi is endless if it travels that circle. The well was a bright blue color but it was clouded in mist and it got its name from Elune the goddess of the moon her powers were the strongest at night and on a full moon but only to those who had wishes, who had desires. The reason Bernard didn’t see anything but a pool was because he looked with his eyes and not his heart.

“Eyes can see what lies in front of you yes… but the heart can see what lies within…”

A voice echoed from the bottom of the well. Peering straight down into the darkness was nothing until you moved the light in front of the moon well. It was then that the tear dropped inside the well… she smiled evilly. This was her chance. Opportunity was knocking and she was ready to open the door.

“Prove that thou art worthy of my power…” she said. Now if he was looking he would see a figure about to form but for now she decided to only show her red eyes. Those fiery orbs of lust that peered back at him. If he was staring at her he would be able to see her true form only for a brief moment. Her skin purple as amethyst, her ears long and pointy, and her hair was the color of jade. Her face bore the markings of a highborn elf and it was these markings that she was ashamed of, so she changed to something more suitable for his viewing pleasure.

“What answers do you seek here Mortal?”

She asked again.

Wanting to know why such a young and so full of youth boy was out here in the middle of nowhere inside a cave staring down into a seemingly empty pool looking for answers to the questions that he desired. The way he looked, so innocent yet held so much passion in him. She almost wanted to reach out and cradle him in her arms, the weight of the world looked like it was on his shoulders.

She came to her senses, what was it that he was here for? He didn't look like a Priest, he wasn't an elf and he wasn't here for a healing, she couldn't do anything with a Priest anyway… the Moonwell's healing ability died long ago, or so it was thought. She was trapped here with no place to go, that is until this boy showed up. Something about him, something about his desires made her hunger, it made those red eyes glow bright with life, and for her this could mean freedom from her cage.

"Heed well your reply Mortal, when the weak court death... they find it."
