It is a clear night in the countryside. Other than the stars in the sky, the only other lights that could be seen were from the city. It was the view that Walter was used to seeing from the roof of his home every night. It was really the only thing he could do to keep him occupied since he lived on a farm. The only friends he had, other than the few at his school, were the farm animals and since they couldn't really talk, he was pretty much alone most of the time. With his lack of companions and the stars above his only means of entertainment, he quickly became curious about the possibility of life outside this world. What was out there? Who was out there? Were they friendly? Were they curious as he way? Day after day, these questions bothered the young man to no end. As long as he had this life of his, however, he would probably never know the answers to these questions.
It was starting to get late now, and Walter was starting to get a bit tired. His eyes began to drift and close, blurring his vision. It would take something extraordinary to keep him awake at this point.
Unfortunatley for him, however there was something that was about to keep him awake for a very long time. There was a glint in the sky, something he had never seen before. His eyes shot open, thinking it was some kind of meteorite or shooting star. He was right...almost. Up in the outer atmosphere, something had appeared in a ball of fire. Sure, it looked like a rock, but beneath its stony surface lay something wicked and terrifying. Walter, of course, was blisfully unaware of what was coming. He watched in awe as the object broke through the atmosphere and head straight for the deep woods. Immidetley, the young man got up and climbed down the roof, eager to see what it was that landed amidst the trees and brush.
