It was a rather chilly evening when Lyra had left the safety of her lavishly decorated estate after being yelled at by her possessive aunt who’d been scolding the silver haired girl for skipping violin practice. Her deceased parents had raised her like the princess she was, and doted on her every action, loving their child more than their own lives, Lyra had become a somewhat bossy if not arrogant girl who seemed to think the world revolved around her. Unfortunately her aunt despised such attitudes and forced her into a more lady-like lifestyle, throwing out some of her more casual clothes and filling her wardrobe with dresses that were long out of fashion, seriously, she didn’t need half a dozen ballroom gowns. What was truly unbearable though was the woman’s incessant naggings, everything from violin practice, to table manners, she’d even been told off a few nights ago for sleeping with her shirt pushed up, exposing her smooth flat tummy. Lyra had no idea why her aunt was coming into her room while she slept, but even without the incident she was sick of the woman, and after today’s argument, Lyra had run off, completely unprepared, she had only enough time to grab her handbag, a few cosmetics and a purse inside. She had no change of clothes, and had come this far wearing sandals she’d slipped on.

She’d come to the poorer side of town since she doubted her aunt would look for her there, while she’d been too sheltered to have ever seen a real furry, she’d heard rumors of them living in this district of town, and figured she might as well go sight seeing. She hadn’t expected that she’d be chased by strange angry men the moment she walked into an alley, and for the past quarter of an hour she’d been running frantically from the men, the string of her sandals snapped and useless, she would have discarded it completely had it not been for the streets being filthy and occasionally littered with glass shards of what she could only assume were beer bottles. Her main priority at the moment was to find somewhere to stay, somewhere her aunt would look, which meant the flashy hotels she’d been considering were out of the question. Letting out a sigh, she turned into another street, strolling down it cautiously, surprised to suddenly come face to face with a creature she’d never seen before.

Gray had been walking all day, getting tired and needing a rest. He's just arrived in the city after a long travel, finally arriving in his home town. He'd been gone for a few years, and the city had expanded massively. It took him a while to get his bearings, but he had finally found the way to his own part of town.
It had seemingly degraded from what he could remember, as crime seemed to flourish around here.

He had turned into the main street he had been looking for, his robe moving in the wind. His robe had been blown open a bit, revealing he wore nothing on the top of his body, and only a pair of short, loose pants on his lower body.
He let his eyes wonder the street, seeing that at least this part of town was the same as he knew. Well... mostly.
Walking passed an alley he suddenly came face to face with a human girl, about two head smaller than him. "Whoa, watch where you're going girl."

Startled at first, it took her a few moments realize that the creature before her was actually talking to her. A surprise to her seeing as her father had always told her that furry’s were nothing more than animals that had learned to walk on their hind legs. Her family had never been very supportive of furs in general, a good portion of the human population wasn’t, and the rich and wealthy people that Lyra had grown up around had often expressed how furs were nothing more than cheap labor. Blinking at large wolf, she frowned, not liking the fact that she was being treated like a child, “You can speak?” she asked rudely, trying to act as tough as she could as the man frankly scared her, he was two whole heads taller than her and his large powerful arms looked as if they could snap her in half at a moment’s notice.

“I was watching where I was going just fine, you’re the one that nearly walked into me” she snapped, placing her hands on her hips and looking up at him defiantly, her attitude came with her pampered lifestyle, and the inbuilt belief that furs existed to serve what she’d often been told was the ‘superior race.’

The girl had nearly walked in to him and she dare talk back like that? She must be one of those snobs from up the city, but what could she be doing down here? "yes, I can speak. Far more civilized than you if I hear correctly. Do you always talk down to people who tower over you? I might let it side, but most people around here would kill you for it."
He had wasted enough time here, he needed to find his old home, so he could get to bed.
"just watch yourself around here if you value your life." Not that he actually cared. But it would be interesting if she lived trough the experience here.

From what Lyra had learned, the word civilized wasn’t something her ‘class’ used to describe what they saw as the equivalent of primitive apes, and being talked down to didn’t sit well with her at all. Her mood only made worse by the way he seemed to assert that he was taller than her, standing at 5’5” she was very conscious of her height, and didn’t like people making fun of it.

She would have argued with him, perhaps even snapped at him rudely, but his comment about being killed prodded the bubbling fear inside her that she’d been trying to suppress. She was very much aware of how she could be beaten, raped and even killed around here. She hadn’t had the luxury of talking to the men that had chased her earlier, but their angry shouts had been more than enough for her to determine their intentions hadn’t been friendly. It didn’t help either that Gray had said ‘he might let it slide’ which inferred there was a chance that he might not. Strangely enough though, she didn’t feel threatened by the creature before her, it might have been her belief of superiority, or maybe it was the way he looked. She’d never really found any of the ‘boys’ she knew to be attractive, and at one stage even questioned if she was more into women, but her eyes getting wandering into the small gap inbetween his robes that exposed his chest. Not overly muscular, but neither fat or slender, if they’d met under different circumstances in a different place she might have asked if she could touch it. Wondering to herself if it felt as nice and furry as her scarf back home.

She panicked a bit as Gray made a move to leave, her hand shooting out and grabbing the hem of his robe, the final comment about watching herself seemed friendly enough, and he didn’t seem too hostile. He wasn’t the best person to be following for sure, but she was intrigued by the wolf’s appearance. Lowering her head and trying to hide the slight embarrassment on her face, “W-where are you going?” she asked, her voice wavering a bit, the fear of being alone and assaulted suddenly seeming very real. He looked sturdy enough, maybe she could convince him to escort her somewhere safer? Perhaps even show her his room? She was rather interested to learn more about furry’s after all, and something told her that the knowledge she’d been given was inaccurate to an extent as she couldn’t imagine the wolf before her digging a hole in the ground and calling it home.

As he walked away he felt someone tugging at his robe. Looking back he still saw the girl standing there looking at him. "You want to know where I'm going? I didn't think anyone like you cared about where I came from or were I went."
Gray turned and crossed his arms beneath his dark robe, silently thinking what she could be up to. "Well, what do you want from me? I have places to be. I had a long journey before I finally got back here."
His tail swayed a bit beneath his robe, making the back move a bit. He really needed to get back to his bed, luckily he was good at hiding fatigue and hurt.

She scowled at his remark which seemed to be accusing her of being a nuisance. Sure she might have been a little, just a little bit rude at first, but surely he could spare a few seconds to listen to her? To at least answer her question? To take her somewhere safe?. She didn’t know how to tell him that though, and when he bluntly asked what she wanted, she flinched, not entirely sure what she wanted herself, the wolf’s agitation was starting to seep out of him, and Lyra wasn’t entirely sure if she’d made a good choice by holding him back. Though she’d always believed it was better to try and regret, than simply regret after having done nothing.

“I want you” she blurted out, staring into his eyes with her bright blue ones. A second of awkwardness past before Lyra’s face went bright red, realizing just how bad that had come out. “I mean I want to employ your servi…. No not that type of service, I-I” she trailed off, lost for words, she instead decide to reach into her bag and pull out her purse, producing a few hundred dollar bills she’d taken out of her parents savings at an ATM. “If it’s so dangerous around here, I’d rather not be left alone, I’ll pay you nicely so…. So…. Can I stay with you for a bit?” she asked, looking at him hopefully. She’d drawn on every little bit of courage she had, and being refused would not only be embarrassing, but it’d also hurt.

He was a bit surprised at the first sentence that left her mouth, but when he saw how she couldn't quiet word what she wanted from him a faint smile appeared on his face. This one really had no experience at all in dealing with his kind, and even less with being around here.
She pulled out some money and made her offer. He quickly put his hand over the money, covering it but not taking it. "Easy there, you don't want to be taking out that kind of money here on the streets. People have been killed for less around here."
Gray pushed her hand back into her purse, stood up right again and turned around, walking towards his home.
He then turned his head over his shoulder to call at her "Well, come on then. I haven't got all day.

Lyra wasn’t sure how to interpret the smile on his face. At first she thought it was reflective of his greed at seeing such a large sum of money, but she couldn’t see the manipulative cold look she was so used to seeing. On one hand the smile could mean he was interested in her offer, but on the other it could mean he wasn’t taking her seriously. Lyra herself didn’t really know the value of money seeing as she’d always had enough to swim in. She was about to reach in and double the sum when she felt him place his hand over hers. Her body tensing immediately at the feel of his large warm hands over hers. She wouldn’t have even protested if he’d snatched the cash out of her hand, but Gray pushed her hand gently back into her bag. His words vague and unclear regarding her offer. She certainly didn’t want to be killed, but she didn’t have anything else to offer him.

As he started walking away, she could feel tears threatening to spill out of her eyes. Hating herself for making such a rash offer, she’d seldom been refused in her entire life, and having the wolf walk off was almost unbearable. Hanging her head, she was about to walk off in the opposite direction when he heard words she hadn’t expected. Her expression immediately lighting up as she jogged upto Gray’s side, grabbing his arm and hugging it to herself, feeling somewhat safer. She had to keep telling herself though that she was just hugging a dog, and that it didn’t mean anything. She wasn’t even the same species as the wolf so she doubted he’d think anything of it either. But even then it felt a bit awkward. Wanting to ease the silence she peered up at him curiously, “Do you live far from here?” she asked innocently, more curious now than afraid of what could be hiding behind the next corner.

The girl ran over to him, seemingly happy. She almost looked like a little kid, the way she ran up to him and grabbed his arm.
This he didn't expect, as he kept on walking, wondering for how she'd follow him. What had he gotten himself into this time.
"How far you say, a mile or so in that direction" he vaguely pointed slightly east of where they where walking. "So where do you need to go. I don't think there are many of people here, human or fur, that would be on your friend list. What are you actually doing here?"

Moving herself closer to him as they walked, she was relieved to be allowed her safety blanket, having been home tutored, she’d seldom had the chance to interact with other males, nevermind a full blown furry, and the only male interaction she could say she had was with her father who she’d often walked with like this when they were going somewhere. She dully noted the direction in which Gray had pointed, Lyra didn’t know the area, and hence her question had been pretty obsolete, but she was glad to find that the wolf she’d found was more talkative than she’d initially thought.

His question though made her feel uneasy. Her eyes wavering a bit as she tried to think of a valid story to tell him, she couldn’t really tell him she’d run away from home or he’d keep treating her like a little kid. Worse case scenario he might even turn on her and drag her home, demanding a reward for finding her and returning her to her aunt.

“Nowhere in particular, just sight seeing” she lied, a poor lie at that seeing as how this part of town wasn’t really a tourist attraction. “Though if I had to choose a place, I’d have to say I’m looking for a safe place to stay the night.”

He noticed she calmed down a bit as she held his arm close to her, so he let her. She was less of a problem when she was quiet.
"Sight seeing.... right. Well you might've picked the wrong part of town to have gone sight seeing. " Not that he believed her, but then again, she might have some reason why she is not telling him the real reason. Or at least he hoped, because otherwise she really was an idiot.
"A place to stay? You came to the worst part of town, to do sight seeing, and now you want a place to stay in that same part of town." he was quiet for a little bit. "You haven't hit your head have you?"

She stayed quiet for a bit, listening to the wolf as he told her about how she’d picked the wrong part of town, his tone of voice and way of phrasing things was sort of rude and got on her nerves, but she tried to stay calm, not wanting to upset the only thing keeping her safe right now. She had her reasons for picking this part of town, for starters she knew her aunt would never look here for her, the woman detested furs more than anything else in the world, and seeing Lyra walking with one, never mind hugging one’s arm was enough to make the woman go purple with anger.

“I haven’t hit my head, I… just had nowhere else to go” she admitted, a half truth since it was here, or hitch hiking out of town completely, “Plus it’s not so bad, It might not be a tourist attraction but I got to see something I’ve always wanted to see” she mumbled the last part, shyly glancing at Gray for a moment, the furred arm feeling awfully warm against her own skin. She had to refrain from rubbing her face against it. “If it’s so bad here can I stay with you? You don’t seem to bad, and I sort of feel safe around you…. She asked, reaching into her bag, but stopping halfway, “I’ll pay you whatever you want if you do” she offered, pulling her hand back out, remembering what she’d been told earlier.

"Something you've always wanted to see..." he repeated after her. He had no idea what in god's name could be of any interest to anyone around here, but then again, nothing in this town seemed that particularly interesting. At least to him, that is why he tried to travel so often. Wandering around the world, training his body. He might not look it on the outside, but he was pretty strong, stronger than most of those buffed up baboons he saw straddling about here all day. But in the end he'd always come back here, for... some reason. Gray actually didn't even know why he did it himself.

"Staying... with me?" Now this was a request he hadn't seen soming in a million years. The girls was actually asking to stay with a fur, who she'd just met not half an hour ago. "You are asking me to let you stay at MY home..? I don't even know your name yet!"

“Lyra!” she exclaimed, stating her name loudly as if doing so would rectify the problem Gray had just pointed out. She wasn’t used to meeting new people, and the rare occasions she did, she was usually introduced by someone else, whether it be her parents or a common acquaintance, now that she thought about it, this was probably the first time she’d chosen out of her own free will who to talk to. Having always been more of the lonesome type, even at private functions she’d usually stand by herself, watching the others with a distant look as if they existed in a completely different world to herself.
“I promise I won’t be a burden, and.. and I’ll leave first thing tomorrow morning” she pleaded, noting how the sun would be setting soon, she had no idea where she’d stay for the night, and walking around alone after dark seemed like a foolish idea. “Please?” she begged hugging Gray’s arm to herself as tightly as she could as if to say she wouldn’t let him deny her, she was so desperate that she didn’t realize she’d squeezed his arm in between her pert mounds. Her hug pushing her soft breasts together around his arm and rubbing against them as they walked.

She almost gave him as scare as she wildly said, near shouted, her name. He really didn't know how to make heads nor tails with this girl. however, seeing as he'd already take her this far in the district, it probably wasn't a good idea to let her wander off on her own trying to find an inn or a tavern around here. Seeing how she did so far, she'd probably end up at a brothel, thinking she'd be able to get a room there. He smirked at the image but quickly shook it off as she started kind of hugging his arm while pleading. Normally this would be annoying, but somehow she seemed to have nearly wrapped her rather sizable breasts around his arm, rubbing it, and from the looks of it she did not even know she was doing it.
This girl really had no idea how to act in public. "Alright, you can stay, for one night." He pulled his arm free to try to spare her from any unnecessary embarrassment. He held up his finger in front of her face making sure she understood him. "One night, got it?"
Gray didn't wait for an answer, but walked further, gesturing her to follow.
A minute later they arrived at his house, nothing special, but home to him. He opened the door and let Lyra in first, closing the door behind him..
"Welcome to my humble abode"

A big smile spread across her lips upon hearing Gray give into her pleas. Holding back a delighted giggle, as she needed to thank him first. “Thank you so much, I knew you weren’t a bad guy.” She frowned at him pulling his hand away, slightly hurt by the gesture, but tried to ignore it, her smile weakening as the wolf emphasized it’d just be for one night. She didn’t like the idea of repeating the process she’d undergone today, but she supposed she couldn’t infringe on his personal space forever. Grabbing the hem of his robes again, she went awfully quiet as she followed the wolf down the street, surprised when they arrived at the place Gray called home not long after. She stared at the shabby building, a slight frown on her face as she looked around to see if she was looking at the wrong room. She couldn’t escape reality as Gray led her inside, her eyes glancing around the unkept room, it seemed Gray hadn’t been lying about being out of town for awhile as there was a thin blanket of dust within the room. “Humble abode more like a dog hou-“ she stopped herself, shaking her head fiercely, “I mean, it looks pretty compact and cozy” she corrected herself, the room itself was tiny, by her standards anyway, Having never entered a ‘commoner’s’ abode before, it was a new experience for her to be in Gray’s room.

“Anyway!” she stated, changing the subject as she feared her earlier slipup would get her kicked out. “We’re not on the streets anymore so we can discuss your payment right?” she asked reaching into her bag and pulling out her purse again. Pulling out the bills once more. “Hundred for the room, Two fifty for you, and an extra hundred for dinner” glancing around the room, she noted how there was only one bed, and she quickly pulled out an extra fifty, “And fifty for the bed?” she asked cutely, the bed didn’t look as comfy as hers, but it was the best the room had to offer. “So that’s five hundred for the night? Is that enough?” she asked tipping her head to the side, not entirely sure if it was as she’d never actually handed out cash in person before.

He heard her remark about the house and burst into laughter as she tried to correct herself. "Haha, no, no.. you're spot on, it's not one of the most luxurious places to be. But like I said, I'm out a lot, so it suffices for my needs." he wiped a tear from his eye as he was still laughing softly. He put down the bag he had on his shoulder, hidden from sight by his robe, pulled of the robe which he the put away in a closet. There he stood, with just his 3/5 pants on, he stretched himself, loving the feeling of finally coming home.

Lyra grabbed her purse again, trying to get a right amount for her night to stay here. "No, keep your money. It's not like I've got much use for it anyway. You can take the bed, just as long as you help me clean the place up for a bit. Think you can do that?"

She was relieved to hear the wolf laughing at her remark, a bit bashful but it was certainly better than being yelled at. And he did seem a bit more friendly after it. She would have said something more if he hadn’t started stripping infront of her, the sudden act catching her off guard, she quickly turned away, fiddling with her purse and pulling out the cash, trying to focus more on negotiating a fair price as she couldn’t quite look at him right now. To her dismay, he wasn’t changing, but getting more comfortable, and Lyra’s curiosity got the better of her, her eyes gliding over his broad chest, and firm abs. He was built much better than she’d imagined, and she actually felt a strange heated sensation filling her body.

“Wow…” she mumbled, her eyes glued to him for a moment before she shook her head, clearing her mind of the lewd thoughts. “I mean, umm, I don’t need it either, and if you travel around a lot it can’t hurt to have a bit of loose change right?” she asked, pushing the money towards him, before changing her mind and placing the money on a table nearby. Going a bit pale at the mentioning of cleaning. Having led a pampered life, she’d never even picked up a mop before, and she had no idea as how to even start cleaning the place up. “I-I’ll try,” she offered nervously, “But that’s a different transaction to you letting me stay here, I’ll help with the cleaning, but can I ask for a favor afterwards?” she asked, hoping her request wouldn’t be denied.

Seeing as she wouldn't take the money back he just let her give it away, I certainly didn't look like she'd run out soon, judging from the quality of her clothes. Only those sandal seemed pretty tattered.
"Sure, as long as it is nothing too weird of course Wouldn't want any of that now would we?" He took the money she left on the table, quite a large sum actually, and took a purse from his bag, putting the money in it. After putting the purse away, he walked over to the kitchen. "Do you want anything to drink or eat?" He shouted back "I don't have anything special, but my neighbors keep my kitchen stocked with fresh stuff. Some apples maybe?"

It was a relief to see Gray finally take the money as it indicated that their ‘business’ had been complete, he wouldn’t be able to kick her out without going back on his word now, and that meant that at the very least, she’d secured a place for the night unless she did something really bad to piss the wolf off.
“I-it’s not too weird” she responded, averting his gaze as she didn’t feel comfortable looking at him for too long, her request was a peculiar one, but it wasn’t that crazy or anything. Looking around the room, she noted how the place actually wasn’t as dirty as she’d initially thought, dust had collected in a few spots, but the house had a whole had been cleaned by someone in a rush. Most likely the neighbors Gray had just mentioned. To be honest, she couldn’t see the point of keeping an abandoned house stocked with food, and there was no telling how old the apple she’d been offered was, so she shook her head politely. “No thank you, I’m not that hungry at the moment” she lied, she hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast and was actually pretty hungry, but she was more interested in sating her curiosity than her stomach, and to do that she’d need to hurry up and get the house cleaned up. Gray seemed pretty relaxed, but Lyra’s time here was limited, and once she’d factored in her need to sleep, the sooner she got started on the cleaning the better. “Walking over to a particularly dusty window sill, she placed her hand on one side, and dragged it across, collecting the dust on her fingers, there had to be an easier way of doing this, Lyra just had no idea how.

Gray shrugged as she refused any food or drink, she'd notice if she got too hungry he guessed. He grabbed an apple himself, looking at it. It looked pretty fresh, not even a wrinkle on it. The neighbors must have stocked up recently.
He walked in the living room, taking a bit from the apple when he saw Lyra trying to 'clean'.
"What in the gods names are you doing girl?"

She hadn’t expected Gray to come looking for her so soon, and flinched visibly as his voice sounded from behind her. A nervous look on her face as she quickly turned around and hid her dirty hand behind her back like a child who’d just been caught sticking her hand in a cookie jar. “N-nothing…. I mean, I was cleaning…. Checking to see how much cleaning needed to be done!” she exclaimed, trying to seem as convincing as she could but failing. The apple in his hand looked awfully good though, and contrary to her earlier words, her stomach let out a low wanting growl. Causing the young girl to go red in the face. “Y-you shouldn’t walk around while eating you know” she stated, her eyes constantly flicking towards the apple with want. Her pride however wouldn’t let her ask for it, and despite her earlier thoughts, it did look awfully fresh and juicy.

He punched himself mentally as he realized she probably never cleaned anything in her entire life. But he had made a deal with her, so he better try to learn her how it works, preferably without letting her know that he was actually learning her.
Gray felt her stare on the apple as he was chewing on the piece he bit off, and then heard her stomach growl. "I think your stomach disagrees with what you just said." he said smiling, throwing her his apple so she could at least get something in that growling belly of hers.
"Now you stay here for a minute while i get a cleaning cloth or two, so we can get this done as soon as possible.

Lyra blushed a deep red at being caught, and having her earlier comment questioned so obviously didn’t help to reduce her embarrassment in the slightest, she’d even opened her mouth to argue that her stomach hadn’t actually just growled out of hunger, but before she could Gray had tossed her his apple. The projectile flying straight into her clean hand, a look of amazement on her face before he told her to wait up and disappeared in search of a cleaning cloth. Leaving Lyra alone in the room with the apple.

For the first few seconds she just stared at the apple blankly, did he really expect her to eat an apple he’d already taken a bite out of? Everything Lyra had eaten up until now had been fresh and served at the best time possible. The act of eating someon’s leftover was completely new to her, but beggars couldn’t be choosers, and she was sort of curious as to what the apple would taste like. The bite mark in the apple clearly not being one made by a human, she glanced over towards the direction Gray had disappeared before shyly brushing her hair behind her ear and licking the bite mark. A precaution just in case, though it certainly didn’t look that way to a certain wolf who’d just returned. Either Lyra had no idea how to eat an apple or she was licking something with more than just an apple in mind.
