It was a rather chilly evening when Lyra had left the safety of her lavishly decorated estate after being yelled at by her possessive aunt who’d been scolding the silver haired girl for skipping violin practice. Her deceased parents had raised her like the princess she was, and doted on her every action, loving their child more than their own lives, Lyra had become a somewhat bossy if not arrogant girl who seemed to think the world revolved around her. Unfortunately her aunt despised such attitudes and forced her into a more lady-like lifestyle, throwing out some of her more casual clothes and filling her wardrobe with dresses that were long out of fashion, seriously, she didn’t need half a dozen ballroom gowns. What was truly unbearable though was the woman’s incessant naggings, everything from violin practice, to table manners, she’d even been told off a few nights ago for sleeping with her shirt pushed up, exposing her smooth flat tummy. Lyra had no idea why her aunt was coming into her room while she slept, but even without the incident she was sick of the woman, and after today’s argument, Lyra had run off, completely unprepared, she had only enough time to grab her handbag, a few cosmetics and a purse inside. She had no change of clothes, and had come this far wearing sandals she’d slipped on.
She’d come to the poorer side of town since she doubted her aunt would look for her there, while she’d been too sheltered to have ever seen a real furry, she’d heard rumors of them living in this district of town, and figured she might as well go sight seeing. She hadn’t expected that she’d be chased by strange angry men the moment she walked into an alley, and for the past quarter of an hour she’d been running frantically from the men, the string of her sandals snapped and useless, she would have discarded it completely had it not been for the streets being filthy and occasionally littered with glass shards of what she could only assume were beer bottles. Her main priority at the moment was to find somewhere to stay, somewhere her aunt would look, which meant the flashy hotels she’d been considering were out of the question. Letting out a sigh, she turned into another street, strolling down it cautiously, surprised to suddenly come face to face with a creature she’d never seen before.
