History;
Left on a monastery's doorstep, Leo was raised as a martial artist. He has little besides basic survival skills and those fighting skills from his childhood. A fire burned the monastery down, and the city's political system sent him from foster home to foster home. A rough teenage life left Leo disillusioned with a 'normal' life.
Leo's father and mother figures were monks who taught him his code of honor, and how to fight. However, he hasn't been able to find them after the fire. He doesn't believe they died in the fire, but the nightmares of that fire still haunt him, and in his dreams he finds them, only to die with them in flames. Leo has never wondered who his real parents are, for the monks who raised him were more than most orphans could hope for.
Leo's training was based in Karate, but with bits and pieces of other martial arts to widen the possibilities of attacks. He was taught the basics of manipulating his ki, but the fire stopped his progression rate to self teaching.
Leo currently has a job as an assistant in a Karate Dojo. He has held jobs such as cashier, stocker, and once security. But his experiences with jobs are lackluster so far.
Leo is from the average social class, with the average wealth. Despite being an orphan with an unusual education, he has managed to handle himself decently in the world so far.
Leo has no particular friends at the moment. After the fire burned down the monastery, and being bounced from home to home, he hasn't been able to connect very well with others. He hopes to change that with a new job. Leo has no particular enemies, but he hopes to find out who burned down the monastery, and why. That mystery continues to fester in his mind. At the moment, Leo is new to the area, and thus isn't close or knowledgeable of anyone around. He plans to change that soon.
The important moments in Leo's life were the first time he tapped into his ki, the fire that destroyed his monastery, and the first rift to another world he found.
At the age of 7, Leo tapped into his ki for the first time while trying to get a yo-yo that had been trapped in a tree. This had the monks raising him excited, for it was rare for someone so young to tap into it.
At the age of 12, Leo survived his monastery burning down. He broke out of a window, and helped rescue the other children. However, the monastery didn't have the funds to rebuild, so the children were put into government custody, and the adults went separate ways.
At the age of 17, Leo accidently walked through a rift to a time of demons and dragons, and ended up sharing dinner and conversation with a dragon. He was back in his home world the next day.
Leo likes apples, carrots, chicken, and noodles. He dislikes pears, broccoli, and fish. Leo likes to play card games for fun, and train in unusual places. He has an interest, some have said obsession, with martial arts, studying and memorizing every move and martial artist he comes across, real or imagined. Leo was taught and holds to a code of honor that is almost identical to the Code of Chivalry. He has never broken it, and hopes to never have to do so.
Leo hopes to learn as much martial arts as he can, and to one day open his own monastery, in honor of the one he grew up in. He also wants to have a life beyond the mundane, and having a use and purpose for his skills.
Code of Honor
Never break his word,
Never ignore insult to self, a lady, or home,
Insults are dealt with in proper apology or duel,
Never take advantage of an opponent (except in defense of another's life),
Protect and defend those who can't do so themselves,
Accept any challenge to battle from another martial artist,
Must fight equally and fairly against an honorable martial artist.
Leo prefers to wear grey outfits (tank top, blue jeans, socks, underwear, long coat to ankle-length). He drives a used motorcycle, prefers dark clothing, and lives/lived in a single person apartment.
