he could see it now. The bright, multicolored lights of the stage flashing and shining across the stage, the crowd going absolutely nuts, thousands of people chanting and signing along as best they could. It was a beautiful scene.
Of course, this big dreamy scene had yet to take an actual fruition and reality for Mason O'leary and his band The Gravdiggers. So far, they'd managed one modest hit, and the biggest venue they'd played at was nothing more than a free outdoor concert in the local park. This, in between lineup changes and a brief period of band drama, led to his big dreams...being a ways off. However, this did n't stop him for living the life of a rock star, at least to a degree.
In terms of looks, Mason kept his black hair short, preferring to ink himself up and pierce more than just his ears. His green eyes usualy glowed a little when he was on stage and his presence was of a tough guy, someone who could take on the world and give zero rat tails about what other people thought of him. He was above average height wise, standing 5'10 and he wieghed about 170 lbs. On his left arm, frm his shoulder to his elbow, was a tattoo of a fire breathing dragon, complete with tongues of orange fire shooting from it's mouth. The dragon had black scales and green eyes. On his right arm, in the same place a picture of a krkaen, a gigantic sea monster with many tentacles, stood out. Covering the upper portion of his back was a gigantic wolf, with grey fur and red eyes howling at a moon which was centered on his shoulder blade. The wolf had some saliva, which the artist hadn't meant to draw but left there, coming out of it's mouth, which made it all the more intimidating. he'd even managed to give himself some eels that crawled from his wrists to his hands. At the time, Mason had been trying for "creepy" but it came out less than he'd hoped. His ears were pierced, as mentioned, with two small silver earnings, he also had a nose ring and his left eyebrow pierced. Altogether? Badass.
This particular Friday, concert day, meant that tonight would be a late night. When Mason awoke in the morning, before he left to join the band and practice one final time, he gave his cat, Katherine or Kitty as he called her, some food, milk and a tummy rub for good luck. The large gray cat adored the attention, but was clearly saddened that her human was going to leave for a long time...again. She tried, futily, to prevent Mason from leaving, but got scooped up and gently set back down away from the door for her troubles and meows and sad kitty faces. Mason had finally squatted to her level and said softly,"hey there girl, you know I have to go for a while today, but I'll be back, promise okay?" he spoke as if she could understand him and though she still did not look pleased, Kitty went off to find a ball of yarn or one of her few toys to play with.
Mason had arrived at the studio, in relative good time and the band had generally played through their set of four ongs well, proving that this concert might be the one to finally solidify the lineup for the long term. The twist, for tonight at least, was the final song. It was as yet untitled and Mason had come up with the idea that they would hold a bit of a fan poll for titles. Whoever was the most creative, would get the credit for the title on the next album. This was well-received; even though most titles would be utter garbage, everyone was hopeful there would be one or two eople creative enough to come up with something original.
The band collectively decided to make it a surprise, one night, announcement. Though, they did at least mention a "surprise" at that night's show in their online posts that afternoon. once the practice had concluded, they al piled into the VW bus that served as their concert transportation and drove to the theater often called; among other things, "The Dome".
