The sound of dogs barking and baying reached Jacob "Jake" Johnson's ears as he stood at the kitchen counter, sipping at his coffee cup as he looked out the window, his eyes gazing out across the wide expanse of lawn and down the dirt road, watching for the car to come into sight. He was eager to see the first dust cloud that would announce her arrival and the start of his long awaited plan. Finishing his coffee, Jake put the cup down in sink and ran his hand through his dark hair before turning away from the window. "Better get the chores done before she gets here," he sighed to himself, shrugging his broad shoulders as he pulled a light jacket on over his shirt.
As he walked the short distance from the house to the barn, Jake thought of his plan, of the scheme that had been hatched in his brain years ago when he'd read about the discovery of the Anthro parasite and its potential uses. Many in society had been horrified at the idea of a parasite that could alter a woman's body the way the Anthro bug could, only a few rare individuals like Jake seeing the possibilities, the potential of a human being able to breed with animals. It had been then that he'd contacted the Smiths, talking to them about their daughter, about her future. It had taken him awhile to convince them, hinting at what he wanted first, slowly revealing his plan to them, getting them accustomed to the idea of it, promising them a healthy share of the profits if they agreed. Finally they had agreed, consenting to his plan, and on their daughter's thirteenth birthday, without her knowledge, they had inoculated her with the Anthro parasite. The small bugs in her body had slowly changed her body, altering it in subtle but important ways until her eighteenth birthday, the day before yesterday, when her parents had announced that she was going to spend the summer at "Uncle" Jake's farm.
Stepping into the barn, Jake's eyes ran over the rows and rows of kennels, the dogs in each barking eagerly in greeting as he began to feed them. Just about every breed was represented here, except the miniature breeds, Jake had no interested in dogs that were no bigger than a toy. As he moved down the rows of kennels, his eye was drawn to the small enclosure at the end, a slightly larger and better padded cage that was reserved for her. While better than the cages the dogs were kept in, it would be far from luxurious for her, but then again she wasn't here to be comfortable...
Almost as if thinking about her had summoned her, Jake heard the car approaching, the faint rumble of the engine announcing her imminent arrival on the farm. "Good," Jake sighed, brushing his hands on his thighs as he headed towards the door, standing in the entryway to the barn as the car pulled up.
