So Hunger games, the popular age seems to be 16-17. Which is perfectly fine with me. I don't really want either character to be any younger than that. Now I'm almost looking for your character to be the anti Katniss. Picture Prim, a few years older, if she had no one to cover for her. Someone with no weapon training whatsoever, and someone who would probably the first or second to die in a normal scenario.
I'm going to assume that this is completely OC. Only the premise is the same, and none of the characters are canon. With that said, my character is going to be from district 1, meaning he's been training his whole life for this and volunteered. According to canon, district 1 and 2 win most of these events. He goes out there knowing he's going to mess some people up. His weapon of choice? A battle axe with throwing knives as a long range back up.
So all 24 of them go up the tubes to the battlefield, and he looked over and see's district (your choice) who are both right next to him, and he see's her. So timid, so unprepared for all of this. Some kind of higher chivalry inside him causes him to desire to protect her at first, but in the back of his mind he knows he has to kill everyone.
