There was something in the air that day in the small town in one of the more country and rural spots of France. ((Yes, I know, I am going with the setting from Disney, but heh, it fits. >.<)) Most days the town went along without anything exciting happening, but today it almost seemed like the air was ripe with excitement. Though, honestly, what would small town people like them know anything about excitement, right? The most excitement that they say was when someone got married or had a baby or something along those lines. It wasn't really that exciting of a place and most days went by without a hitch and like the day before that. It was most tiresome to a restless soul like the young lady who was actually the beauty of all the town. There wasn't a man in the village who didn't want the young lady for their own bride, but fat chance that they would have her for their bride considering how stubborn the girl really was. Most women in the small town also envied her beauty, but at the same time most of the children in the village loved her. She was kind and sweet as well as beautiful. Which made her quite the young lady and most men thought that that was a good candidate for a wife. Though she was sure that her father would love to see her married, the young lady wouldn't really want to marry any of the men in the village.
Her name actually meant Beauty in french and her name was Belle. She was quite the bell of the ball, so to speak, of course. She had short light brown hair that was sun streaked with blond highlights, which only made her more beautiful and her eyes were this light golden color that were very enchanting to look at. She tended to wear dresses that most other women wouldn't wear and she really didn't mind the looks she got when she proceeded to do such a thing. It really wasn't too bad to have most of the townspeople look at her with such weird looks. She normally wore dresses that were different colors and very dark at times. Today she was wearing her dark blue topped and crimson red skirted dress. It actually did not have sleeves or any such things, and that was what made her so weird. But she actually put on long sleeved white shirts beneath it to make it look more appropriate. She knew that her father would not like it if she was running around looking like some kind of hussy, so she made sure always to wear shirts beneath the dresses if they did not have sleeves already. Her short hair was put back up into a ponytail with some of her shorter bangs hanging off to both sides of her face. It made her look sweeter than normal and she was working around the small farm that they had. Lord only knew that her older sisters could not be burdened with doing such work.
Belle was really the only responsible one in the family. She really was the only one who knew how to behave right at times as well as be responsible about the work that needed to be done around the house. She was with her horse, Phillipe((Because I can't think of better french name. >.<)), and she was brushing him down for the day. She felt rather calm that day, but still, there was something in the air that felt mysterious and she wanted to know what it was. She sighed as she rubbed his fur down and finally finished her grooming of him. "Well, boy, just another day in the life, huh?" she said softly. Her voice was like something sweet and spicy at the same time. Like the softest piece of velvet, but then something as strong and spicy as a pepper. It was a confident voice that rarely shook with fear, well, at least for now because she had never had anything to fear in her life. Everything was just normal in her life and there had never been anything for her to fear.
She walked out of their stable for some of the horses they had and decided to take a bit of a walk in their field. Her sisters were in town and her father was out at the fair for the weekend, so mostly, she was in charge, but her sisters had wanted to go into town, so she had let them. It figured that the two of them would not want to get work done at all and that was not very surprising, but truly, Belle wished for adventure. For something exciting and new to happen to her instead of something dull and boring as always. It was really dull around here and she wish that she knew a way to make it more exciting, but she truly didn't know a way. Those were her thoughts as she walked through the field and the soft wind blew her soft short hair from her face, at least, the few strands that had fallen down. It was not like it couldn't be expected that she would want adventure when she had such a restless soul and it needed adventure to stay alive. That was the reason that she read so much. She loved to get lost in the adventure of everything in the books. The romance, and the mystery, and enchanting tales, but she didn't really think that any of it was real, unfortunately. She truly wished that it was.
