Ila Johanson chewed on the end of her pencil in thought, staring down at the sheet of math homework despondently. The problems were simple algebra, yet math had never been Ila's strong point. Art was more to her fancy, yet she'd already completed that homework yesterday and only needed to finish these last few problems before she was done with the homework assigned to her over break.
The woman sighed to herself, doodling in the side margin of her paper. A young woman of only twenty years, Ila was dressed in a loose t-shirt and a pair of shorts. She lay sprawled out on her bed, head propped up on one arm as she stared bored at her paper. It was winter break and outside snow fell gently to the earth. Her roommate, Chelsie, had left for the week to spend time with her family, leaving Ila with a small illusion of privacy in the dorm she shared with her departed companion.
