Aramelle. The princess and daughter of King Damian and next ruler of Sylvan. A kingdom known not to many, but a powerful one. But there were those who wish to to take over the kingdom and power that the king held. He was noble and loved by all of his people for his kindness and fairness. Even the poor never went hungry under his command. And so many would fight for him... even the heavens. For soon war was ready to break out.

The king prayed for help from the heavens, and they were graciously answered. One Angel in specific had a very important position. This Angel was Drake. And he was to protect Aramelle during these times.

She was as naive as ever. Believe nothing could tear this beautiful kingdom from her father's grasp. She was careless, adventurous, and everything but what her father wanted her to be. She was one to explore and go off without telling anyone and always caused a panic.

Today was one of those days. She hadn't met her Angel protector yet, and wasn't attempting to either. "I don't need protection." She scoffed. "I can take care of myself." Her eyes rolled in sarcasm as she made her way to cliff edge on the perimeter of the kingdom, looking out at the rest of the world. She layed down on the soft grass, blowing in the beautiful summer breezes as she watched and dreamed of the outside life.

Saint Drake had made a huge mistake. he had been tricked by the crafty demon, Aamon. drake had let his faith slip for one second, and now god punished him by sending him to earth. It was a joke of a mission. protecting a simple mortal girl from harm. He would be ridiculed by the saints of heaven for an eternity.

He hadn't been to the earth realm in a wile, and he was glad. last time he was there he had nearly died. The mortals had called him the Demon! Mortal minds were easily changed and controlled. but their will could not be matched, he had to give them that.

He broke from the clouds shining as bright as the sun and quickly descended to the grassy plains below. he landed on his feet with a soft thump and looked around. God had put him here? Why in the blazes had-? He stopped when he saw the lone girl atop the hill, near the cliff edge. he approached her with caution as to not scare her. he tucked his wings away, and said with a bored toned voice, "well if cliffs are the only thing endangering you, then your in good hands."

he saw her turn and look at him, she was beautiful, and her eyes showed strength, but still shined. he kept his face stern though vowing not to let himself become even close to friendly with this girl or any mortals for that matter.

Seeing this man before her, her eyebrow quirked as if to say 'you got to be kidding me.' She shook her head to his comment of danger. "There is no danger. I can handle myself." She scoffed lightly, rolling her eyes as she turned her entire body to face him. She stayed sitting on the grassy ground beneath her, pulling her knees into her chest and rested her arms and head upon them. "I know why you're here. You have to babysit me don't you?" Her tone clearly showed annoyance. Not towards the man, but at the whole situation in general. She was a young woman... why did she need a babysitter. "I'm sorry." She said sincerely. "Trust me when I say this isn't fun for me either. I'll try to behave but please... just don't baby me."

This obviously has happened before. Her words were that of experience. She knew if she didn't give him a hard time, more than likely he'd be cool. Rebellion only got her locked up in her room and she wasn't the type to take that lying down. "So who are you? Are you from an allied clan?" The man looked to be as a man. So she assumed he was some soldier or guard from somewhere that her father paid a lot of money to watch over her.

Her words were perfect for what he felt as well. He had better things he could be doing than babysitting this little girl. Well. woman. His eyes narrowed when she asked him about what clan he was from. "I come from no clan. I am no mercenary either. Your Father prayed to the lord. You got me. So that should awnser your question."

He could tell she was a smart girl, quick witted, and he saw strength in her character. For any man she would have been a handful. But he was no man. " my names Drake.. Ill do my best to please your father. Thats my mission, and thats what ill do." he gave her the strait up answer, even if she wouldn't like it. "but lets get one thong clear, Im not here to be your friend."

He looked to the sky and saw that Dusk was fast approaching. "We best get back before dark." he said it like an order not an option.

'Prayed to God?' She thought to herself. Her eyes looked away, shifting side to side with small quick motions in confusion... "I don't understand.. what are you like... some sort of Angel?" She almost said the word with a disbelieving scoff. There was no way. She knew her father to be powerful, but not to the point to bring the heavens down to earth without their own purpose. He did however, appear from seemingly no where. Could it be possible?

Before she could question the matter further he spoke again. 'Great... Another loyalist to my father.' Her expression showed it clear, she was annoyed. Who was this man... thing to tell her what to do? Her nose scrunched in anger, her eyes narrowing as she looked away from him and taking one last look out to the horizon. She sighed somberly, rising to her feet with her head held down. "Lets go." She spoke in a whisper barely loud enough for him to hear for she wasn't going to argue. She wasn't in the mood to fight tonight and they had a long walk back to the castle.

Drake squared his shoulders and blinked in surprise. wait. she didn't argue? He watched her walk past and start down the hill.
He followed behind her. "You know, there is a much faster way back." be fore she could turn and as why, he unfurled his wings and scooped her up, and took flight. his wings glinted in the sun as the sun set behind the, basking the sky an am amber glow.
He could already see the castle in the distance, and the town that lay at its feet. It wasn't a large castle, but it looked strong. he pulled the girl closer, for he did not want to drop her as he soared higher, and rose above the clouds, so that the common man could not see them. Then, at the right moment descended quickly and landed in the courtyard.
