The students at the White Owl Magic Academy had just gotten out of their classes for the day. They were bright, cheerful young men and women selected from all over the world based on their magical prowess. Every day they learned something new about the world around them and how it connected to the eternal magical essence that surrounded them all. But that wasn't what they wouldn't be learning today. Instead, they would be learning the shortcomings of being a 16 year old, 5'5" student with no friends and lots of people who wanted to humiliate you because of it. Appearing from a hallway was Sol Gareth and he wasn't in the best of moods. He was in his magical chemistry class and he was preparing a potion that would induce the growth cycle in oak trees. That was until someone snuck in an ingredient that wasn't supposed to be in there when his back was turned. The potion had exploded then and left the young man covered in sap and an ooze known as magical runoff.
Sol was forced then to walk along the halls to his dorm room where he could clean up. Unfortunatley for him, it was around the time the classes were ending and he had gotten around just as they were getting out. They all stared at him then as he walked, his head low not wanting to see. The students stood silent, some snickering to themselves thinking, "Look at that little midget with no talent. Isn't he funny?" But what the students didn't know was that this little mage made a little pit stop along the way. It was really some place he wasn't supposed to be, but he didn't care. He had enough of these pranks being pulled on him. Yesterday, someone put a bucket of stinky water over the door and as he opened it, he was drenched and it took him hours just to get rid of the stench. Before that, someone had put a levetation spell on his standard issue magic staff and made him run throughout the school trying to catch it.
This was but the tip of the iceburg of the things that happened to Sol throughout his stay, but today was the last straw. Now that he had this book of minor summoning, he would have a way to get back at these students who made a fool out of him. And it began in the evening after he got back to his dorm and cleaned up. He read through the book, looking for the right familiar to summon. And then he found it. It was small enough not to be detected, but big enough to perform such minor tasks as carrying and placing smal objects around the school where others wouldn't discover it. After lights out, Sol lay in his bed, the book open to the incantation page. He spoke out the words of summoning and the symbols on the book began to glow...
