Another day, another chance to ruin it for someone.
That was really all Wukong lived for at this point. He loved throwing everyone in a state of confusion. It was amusing, to say the least. His favorite people to mess with were usually the ones who valued themselves as being much higher in social hierarchy. In other words, nobles and royal types were his favorite prey. He loved putting them in their place, humiliating them before their subjects. They deserved every minute of it, in the Monkey King's eyes. Today, however, was a special day. He was feeling particularly cocky. Today, he wanted to ruin the Emperor's day. What better way than tearing up his oh-so beautiful palace? He was all set. He just needed to be sure he wasn't caught before he made his move.
That's where his powers came in handy. He had been taught the ability to transform at will into just about anything. This situation called for a servant disguise. It was truly the only way he could easily blend in. As he sat perched on the high walls that guarded the palace, he let his body shiver and smoothly transformed into the guise of a common-looking man. He jumped from the wall to the ground and waited for a line of servants to pass by. As they did, he joined them at the end of the line, keeping his head low like the rest of them as they quickly shuffled into the massive, guilded castle. Just as he expected, the interior was very overdone. Lots of golden engravings and jeweled pillars. Things that could easily feed a village for years, but no. The Emperor had to have his shiny trinkets.
Before long, Wukong got bored scuffling along with the servants. Soon, they passed a doorway and he hung back, deciding now was as good a time as any to launch his first strike. Still, he would need to get out of plain view. The doorway was blocked off by a rolling screen, but it was easy to get through without pulling strings. He gently pushed it and slipped in, being careful to not make a noise. He then jumped for one of the ceiling beams, shifting into his real form in midair. As he contemplated his next move, he heard the splashing of water. His ears twitched and he looked toward the source, prepared to strike. Only he didn't need to strike. In fact, he needed to stare. His golden eyes widened.
A woman was taking a bath. Not just any woman, the princess was taking a bath before his very eyes. She clearly wouldn't be able to see him as he was far above her and hidden in shadows. From the looks of it, she was nearing the end of her bathing session and the Monkey King couldn't take his eyes off her. He wasn't going to tear up the palace to ruin the Emperor's day after all. No, he was just going to take his daughter away.
