Parallel Universes Simultaneous Roleplay

Not sure where this would go exactly but I have an interesting idea. This might have been done before, I don't know because I'm new to this but hear me out. I want to make a plot and have multiple groups rp the same scenario simultaneously and see how different they turn out. This means maybe 3 or 4 groups playing in essentially parallel universes. All the same characters with same back story and basic plot line just different minds behind them. I think it could be fun although maybe difficult to organize and would probably need to be several threads with designating titles such as Story A B C it something. Tell me what you guys think. Would anyone be interested in this idea?
