The moon was beaming down on the slick, cold road. As Jacob drove by the mountain side pass. He was a decent height for his age. Standing at five foot ten. He had short, black hair. And deep yellow eyes. He had two ear piercings in his left ear, and one piercing on his naval. To most he was a real looker, and could get any girl if he tried hard enough. But, girls were the last thing on his mind right now... He looked at his rear view mirror, seeing his baby sister in the back seat. She was asleep, passed out like a light near the moment this trip started. It was just as boring for him to, even if he was still awake and driving. He loved her, He wanted to keep her... But, their mom and dad were no longer around to watch after her. And he was 18, fresh out of high school, ready to go on and make his own life, for himself. He couldn't take care of her. So as painful as it was, he had to give her away to their aunt and uncle. "Sorry... Anna.." He said while taking a deep breath. He was, he truly was. But he couldn't handle the responsibility. She hated it, she hated the very idea of being away from him. As far as she was concerned, big brother was all she needed. But, never is life that simple, never does it play out the way you may want it. Just a few days ago. Jacob was a high school graduate, and graduated with honors. Life seemed to be so grand, and perfect... Until, Anna, had to learn how cruel life can be. One day, the people you love most is there, and the next they are gone... It was a car accident, to be exact. A drunk driver had a head on collision with their mom and dad. Killing them almost instantly. The irony about it all, was that the driver lived. Jacob never met him, did not care to anyway. Why did they have to die, and not him? The drunken fool. Who tore away all they knew. So, what if Jacob graduates College. What if he succeeds in the world... He has no one to turn back to. No parents to tell him he did great. Or scold him when he did wrong. He knew Anna had it just as bad. Worse even.. And although she was all he had left. And he was all she had left. He couldn't be selfish, and keep her. Unable to provide for them, or give her the support she truly needs.

His eyes began to grow tired. All this driving... He needed to take a rest. Sleep at a motel, and calm his nervs. Have some coffe in the morning, buy Anna breakfast and then, off to their aunt and uncles. Silent Hill, 2 miles, the road sign said. Jacob, turned for it. Heading towards the nearest town for miles. On his way, he passed woods, that seemed ominous and foreboding. Cliffs, that seemed would go on forever. And, finally a mountain turn, that led down into a forest path. Welcome to Silent Hill the road sign said. As he drove into the town. It seemed like a rather cozy place. Everyone was still out and about some, it only being 7 o clock. But, did seem to be getting ready to fall asleep. As Jacob intended to do. After driving for hours on end, he deserved the break. Soon, he made it to the Silent Hill Motel. Parking near the entrance, and slowly getting out of the car. He did not want to wake Anna, not at least until they make it to their room. He entered the office building. A bell sounding as the door opened and closed. Jacob walked to the counter, tapping his hand on it impatiently, as he waited a few minutes. "Ya... What do ya want?" A voice said as he walked up to the other side. "Uh, what else sir. I want a room." Jacob said, to the ugly man. "Don't be a smart ass." The prick of an owner said. As he scratched his bald head. He was a short man, with a big round belly, a bald head, and a pair of ugly green eyes. "Whatever, I just want a to bed apartment." Jacob said as he pulled out his wallet. "Ok, that will be sixty two dollars a night." The man said, holding out his hand. Jacob then handed the man his money. Taking his keys, and then leaving. Without looking back.

"Come on sis, let's go." Jacob said, as he opened the car door. Taking his eight year old sister in his arms. "Are we there yet..." She said lazily. "No no, only stopping here for the night." Jacob answered. "Oh...." She held him tightly, using his shoulder as a suitable pillow. Until, he opened their room. And sat her nicely onto the bed. She instantly hugged the pillow. Excepting the blanket Jacob put on her, before kissing her fore head. "Sleep tight.." He said. As he walked over to his adjacent bed. Flopping down on it, and passing out almost instantly.

Samantha had been a less than perfect daughter. But, to be fair, she had less than perfect parents to learn from. She couldn't remember how long she'd been walking... It felt like it had been days, even though Samantha knew that it had only been hours... A single day at most. She was tired, worn out, and emotionally drained. Blonde locks were tied behind her head, although there were several sprigs loose, framing her face tastefully. Brown eyes looked ahead of her, although the color was intense and deep enough that they appeared to be red. She was relatively fair skinned and as attractive as she was determined. Things hadn't been simple for her. Her father was handsy, abusive. And her mother was just as awful, always waiting for the next high. Samantha couldn't begin to tell anyone how many times her mother had ignored her for a pill, for some morphine. This being said, Samantha decided to delve into the seedier parts of life. Drugs, gangs, fighting. Quite easily, the quiet child had become the problem child. But, could anyone argue about whether or not she had reason to be such?

The night she'd left, she'd been in a particularly bad fight with her father... she could still hear his words echoing in her head...

"You're way more trouble than you're worth... You've always been useless, you're always going to be useless..."

"I wish you'd died during child birth. You're not even easy on the eyes anymore. Who could ever love you? Oh, he does? The way we did?"

The words felt as if they were burned into her subconscious, threatening to swallow her whole. She hadn't said anything to him, although she'd had a mind full of ideas. But instead, she'd left. Decided that she would walk, Hell, run somewhere, anywhere else. She was going to start over, start again. Her thoughts were cut short as a car breezed passed her, nearly causing her to stumble and fall over. She narrowed her eyes at the retreating car, willing it to blow it up with her mind.

"Fucking jerks..." She mumbled, looking up at the nearest sign. "Silent Hill, 2 miles...." She murmured, quietly, and obviously to no one. Shivering softly, she closed the jacket around herself. "Well... seems like a good place to start... or at least to sleep..." It was at this time that a car stopped next to her, rolling the window down. A man was sitting there, damningly handsome, white streaks littered through black, shaggy hair. He had haunting blue eyes and a snake-charmer's smile.

"Hi. Going to Silent Hill?" He questioned, motioning towards the sign. Samantha turned around and looked up at the sign before turning back towards him.

"Um, yeah, actually... Are you headed there?" She questioned.

"No, just driving through... but I can take you the rest of the way. Been here once or twice. There's a really nice motel not far in... about sixty two bucks a night..." His smile widened and he motioned for her to get in the car with a soft tilt of his head. "C'mon. I'll take you right there, you look tired."

"Uh... okay then." She'd been unsure about it originally, but what harm could it really do? None that she hadn't handled in the past, that was for certain. Strange, how things worked in the now eighteen-year-old's mind. She climbed into the car and looked ahead of her. The guy was quiet... although he looked about her age, maybe a year or two older... However, she couldn't help but feel that he knew something she didn't. "So... were you born here or something?" She questioned. His grin only widened, those haunting orbs remaining on the road.

"Something like that..." He responded. Samantha's eyebrows furrowed again. That was an odd way to answer that question. Odd enough to keep her quiet for the rest of the ride. It wasn't long before they stopped and he put the car into park.

"Here we are...." He said, turning his head towards her. "Hope you like it here."

"Yeah, thanks. I'm sure I will... anywhere's better than home..." She responded before climbing out of the car and closing the door behind her. "Oh, yeah. Thanks again." She said, but when she turned around, he was gone. Weird...

She stepped into the lobby before waiting to be taken care off, looking around impatiently. She ran the bell once, and then twice before sighing heavily.

"What is it?" The round man barked in her direction, causing her to jump.

"Damn, old man..." She grumbled, putting her hand over her chest. "I need a room for a night." She said, reaching into her pocket, pulling out seventy dollars. The round gentleman looked down at it.

"I ain't got change." He responded.

"That's fine, just give me a key." She responded, taking the key from him and turned to find her room. Before a long, she swung open the door and closed it behind her, looking over the room. Looked swell enough. Immediately, she crawled into bed and fell asleep.

"uuugh..." Jacob moaned in his sleep as he slowly woke up. Cold air filling his lungs. "What..?" He asked, as he sat up in his bed. "Why is it so cold...?" He breaths in his hand, watching the mist form as the warmth made contact with the cold air. "I...Thought I left the heater on?" He looked over to the broken heater. A rusted up heap, that has fallen apart. "That cant be.. It was new yesterday.." But, that was miniscule, to the greater mind fuck. "Anna?" He said As he desperately searched her bed. He frantically searched the room. Tearing it apart, as he searched for his sister. "Anna!?" He yelled. As he threw her bed. "Anna!" He yelled louder. As he tore open the closet. "ANNNA!" He yelled even louder. As he went for the door. It was rusted shut. So, he kicked it down, with cascading force. Reducing it to splinters. As he exits the room. He looks around outside. Seeing the once new, and fresh town was completely old, and run down. An ashy mist covering it all. Blocking his site, and filling his lungs with cold air. It was not too chilly. In fact, it was bareble... Kind of. It was a scary kind of cold. One that sent intense goose bumps all over. Like something was lurking all around you. "ANNAAAA!" He called out into the empty streets. Littered with broken run down cars. Turned over garbage cans. Broken street lamps. Houses that have fallen apart due to the weight of the ashes. Garbage litter the streets. Crumpling against his feet, as he walked into the street. He took a deep breath trying to grasp his situation. Think... He thought to himself... Think... But he couldn't figure out anything. He couldn't see how she could be gone. How any of this was real. With one finale yell, he screamed what anyone else here was truly thinking. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!" Anna was gone. And he failed to protect her from whoever took her. He began to knock on doors around the apartment. Trying to find someone, anyone willing to help him. "Hello?!" He calls out. "Anyone there?! ANYONE!" He continues to knock on doors until he runs out of energy. He crals to his knees. Resting against a door. As he hid his face with his hands. "Im going crazy... I got to be... This is to weird.. "

Samantha had been sleeping soundly when all of the noise started. Someone was outside screaming. How aggravating... doesn't this person know that there are people nearby who are trying to get some sleep?! And so, she did what she could to ignore the noise, rolling over. She grumbled and rolled again. Last she recalled the bed was way more comfortable last night. And suddenly it was cold. She exhaled, shivering lightly before a banging on her door finally caused her to pop her eyes open. When she did, she was almost paralyzed. Where was she?! Was this her hotel room? She shot up into a sitting position, panting heavily as panic started to set in. The banging and yelling continued, but she could barely hear any of it over the blood rushing in her ear. That old, fat bastard!! Had he kidnapped her and taken her to some... run down Den?! She stood and looked around the room, her hands shaking. She opened the bathroom door to see this... mangled sight inside of it. Not human, not an animal, and definitely not alive. She slammed the door shut and was unable to contain the scream in her chest, and she let it rip through the air. She fell back into the wall, sliding down it about halfway.

"What the fuck is this?!" she cried, loudly. Although it didn't take long after such for the door to burst open. She let out another startled scream, sheilding herself before letting her arms fall and looking up at the handsome male approaching her. He looked concerned... so... he couldn't have been anyone who wanted to hurt her... right? She swallowed, reaching up to him and accepting help up if she was offered it. When he'd questioned her, she was still shaking.

"There was... this... thing in the bathroom... I... was in Silent Hill..." She looked over and up at him. "Are we still in Silent Hill? Nothing.... nothing was like this last night... everything was... normal...." Was she crazy? Was she dreaming? That had to be it... she had to be dreaming...
