Bastet sighed. It was rare that people played to her anymore, in fact, it had been over three thousand years since she'd last heard a proper mass prayer. Lately it'd been people from all over this new world, though half of them weren't even serious. She knew she had to do something about it. But she didn't know just what.

Then it came, with a prayer. A guy in this massive country, praying to her, even if his joking tone obviously implied he wasn't fully a believer, he got her full attention right then. She smiled with delight as she heard the words coming from his mouth, her plan already springing into motion. It was time she brought herself a new heir into this world. Even if she couldn't leave her own dimension with the other Gods, she could send one of her servants in her place.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That night, a horrible thunderstorm swept in over the city. It was the perfect night for Bastet to send her servant. Juliette was her name in this world, and although she felt human, she wasn't. But no one knew why she had such catlike features, no one could see the ears that popped up on her head, or the tail coiled around her waist. She wore loose clothes, no one could see what she was as she made her way to a place she was going to live.

She would be provided for by her Goddess, but only if she made progress on her task. She had to find the man who'd prayed to Bastet first, and she had a major clue there. She was signed up to attend the same classes and courses he was in. That way, she might be able to get close enough to him.

Chris have had a terrible love life ever since he started to grow up and develop into a man. Through high school and collage he had tried to socialize and to get a girlfriend but never succeeded. He didn't have that social gene that so many seemed to have, so carelessly talking about all kinds of random things. Instead, he was deemed to be a failure when it comes to social terms and interactions, distancing his being from everyone else. Eventually he had began to focus his time on studying instead of caring about social interactions, devoting his attention towards school so he would one day become a well payed and financially stable man that could support a future girlfriend or wife.

During his life, he had taken quite a fancy towards cats because of their way to socialize and stand strong within themselves, not having to rely too much on others to get by. They were very much like him in many ways, and vice versa. During his studying, he had come across the legends of a God worshiped in ancient Egypt called Bastet, a cat-like goddess that protected and cared for the country. He had taken quite a fancy to her, theologically speaking, for being labeled the guardian of cats and being such a strong God as she was.

Chris did not believe in any gods to begin with, but this particular day, hes thoughts and emotions had swayed towards a seldom experienced loneliness because of his rare interactions with other people. This had caused him to actually bend his own believes and ask himself, 'Why does so many people believe there is something higher when they have no proof? Maybe there is actually something to it...'. In his currently sorrowed state of mind he decided to ask for help, turning himself towards the god he had grown a fancy too, Bastet, praying for her help to him brighten his life a bit or in fact a great deal, help to make him not so lonely in whatever way she could think of.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

That night, a terrifying thunderstorm had swept over the city, lightning striking the ground everywhere, even his own building. Lightning had shaken his apartment to its core and pieced through his electrical cables, radiating unnatural looking eerie light throughout his room as he had awaken from the bang and light. He was clearly shaken to his core as well, scared, but the lightning didn't strike his apartment again, so he could quickly go back to sleep despite everything.

The next morning he woke up, a bit late even, so he had to hurry. He quickly packed his study material and stuffed his mouth with some thick bread to keep his hunger sated for a while as he ran towards his school. He had already missed his bus and his bicycle was trashed from the week before when he had thought of some study and crashed himself into a car while doing so. His school was not that far away but still a sizable run of a few kilometers. As Chris had arrived to school, he was covered in sweat and obviously exhausted from the run. He quickly made his way to his first classroom of the day and stormed inside, only to be greeted by a deafening silence and the prying eyes of an entire class.

"I'm sorry I'm late Mr. Bergen! No excuses.", he quickly said as he made his way to an empty seat in the middle of the class and sat down, panting a bit from the exhaustion. Mr. Bergen was their teacher for their class. Mr. Bergen had sent a 'Hmpf' his way and cleared his throat as he continued, "As I was saying before Mr. Chris decided to so gracefully interrupt our good news; We have a new female student in the class, she didn't want to part with much information so you will know her only by first name for now. Class, welcome our new female student, Juliette!"

Juliette was there on time, wearing a somewhat curious outfit. She had put on a hat with sewed on ears, or at least it looked that way, her auburn hair going to the middle of her back and flowing freely, a glint of glimmer along it to help make her look presentable. She always cared for her looks, especially for her hair and anyone who'd try to mess it up would most likely end up in trouble with her. Along with that, she'd put on a navy blue shirt and a larger sweater, even if it was warm, she didn't seem to care about the heat, along with a skirt that went to her midthighs, white stockings covering her legs up to where the skirt ended.

She was smiling as Mr. Bergen introduced her to the class, although acting surprised when Chris entered, she could tell it was he who had prayed to her Mistress. "Thank you, Mr. Bergen." She said, smiling to him. Her eyes seemed almost human, but a good looker would notice the somewhat feline irisses that hid behind her soft orbs. She noticed the empty seat next to Chris as she smiled, her shoulder bag being removed as she strolled down to his seat, ignoring any of the other guys who were looking her over.

It was like she had some sort of special charm over her, like she wasn't the same as every other girl. As she sat down in the chair next to Chris, she offered him a sweet smile before pulling her books out of her shoulderbag, along with a pencil and a notebook. She wasn't going to approach him too quickly, she wanted to see how he acted around other people first, though she knew somewhat already from his prayer to Bastet. She was going to enjoy herself, and hopefully, he would enjoy himself as well.

Chris had already taken out most of his books, pens and notes for the class as he looked up, the new girl was not anywhere to be seen in front of him at least. Chris shrugged a bit and thought that he would maybe get to see her sometime soon anyhow, they were in the same class after all. It was sooner then he would have dared to hope, as she had sat herself down next to him. He looked a bit curiously at her then returned a warm smile right back to her. Chris quickly laid his eyes on a few perks of her appearance, her beautiful and long hair, her drawing eyes and her peculiar hat with sewed on cat ears. He quickly averted his eyes back to the classroom; he was a bit confused over why, with her interesting and attention drawing looks, she had sat herself down next to him of all people, there were after all a few better seated positions to sit on scattered across the classroom. Not that he minded that she was sitting next to him.

He had not had the chance to take care of himself this morning as he had been late for everything, therefor wearing the same clothes as last day and didn't have the time to shower. It was a terrible day for introducing oneself to the new girl in the class. Especially when she had sat down next to him and actually was really pretty. He sighed quietly to himself at his current misfortune, as he didn't know what truly was in store for him; if that thunderstorm hadn't happened last night, he probably would have been awake in time to prepare himself.

Chris sat quietly during the lecture and listened to the teacher and all the other students asking questions and answering the teachers questions as well. Chris only said anything when he was asked, revealing his thoughts and questions at that time, rather then spewing them out into the classroom as someone else was talking. He took many notes however.

After the class ended and the bell rang, it was time for lunch. Chris was getting hungry and was just about to get his lunch box from his pack when he suddenly realized; he had forgotten it at home in the morning tumult. He sighed a bit heavier and clearly looked a bit irritated, then calmed himself down as he packed his things. The lunch today was for about two hours, so he could safely go home, take a shower, change his clothes and eat his lunch at home without missing any classes. He usually didn't talk or socialize with anyone during lunch anyway, so he figured he might as well.

As he made his way out of the classroom, he noticed that a lot of boys and girls wanted to talk to the new girl. He was not really surprised, she had that look about her, a gleaming beauty of some sort that demanded and drew attention to itself. He shrugged a bit and headed home to his apartment. Despite the violent thunderstorm last night, the ground was fairly dry, there was no clouds in the sky and the sun was hot on ones skin. It was a rather beautiful day as many flowers were in bloom and there was a vibrant green everywhere from shrubs, grass and trees all around.

Juliette enjoyed the class, talking when she had an opinion to share, though her words usually hinted of a strict upbringing, there was always some fact to what she said. Though she noticed Chris was mostly quiet, she could tell he didn't seem to say much, even though he knew what he said and was confident in the topic. It made her pleased that he was aware and followed along, being educated was a good thing, especially for what she had in mind for him.

Though as the bell rang and they were off, she was soon caught in the door, a lot of people wanting to talk with her. She didn't like that amount of attention, the mass being too much for her as she saw Chris making his way past her. She bit her lip, excusing herself, pushing her way through the other students as she moved after him. She had already prepared a lunch package, japanese style bento box. Since she enjoyed fish, she had some sushi for herself, but other delicasies she'd want to share with him.

She caught up before he was halfways to his apartment as she grabbed his wrist. "Chris, excuse me." She said, her voice soft, cute. She had noticed the expression on his face when he'd noticed a missing lunch. "I didn't get a chance back in the classroom, but I'm new, so would you like to show me where it's possible to enjoy lunch? I made too much last night, so if you want I'll share." She said softly, giving him a gentle smile. She was hoping he would accept, especially since she'd prefer his company to the others.

Chris, a little surprised and confused, stopped and turned as his wrist was grabbed. He was met by the new girl's cute face and even her cute voice, quickly luring him into her sweet snare, asking him to show her around to a nice place to have lunch at. He was still a bit confused over that she seemed to want to make friends with him of all people, instead of any of the other. Instinctively he thought it was just another prank pulled by some high and mighty people, and thusly replied, "Oh, no I'm just going to...", he paused a bit, rethinking his current situation and assessing it a bit as this girl was actually new and not some old ¨acquaintance¨ of his. He wasn't really used to people talking to him since he started high school, he had gotten rather drawn back since those days, but now someone was seemingly genuinely talking to him.

He figured that it would lead to no harm, it had been a while since he had socialized, and he would get to mostly start a new page with this girl, maybe they could become friends or something. Quickly he thread a smile at her and continued a bit cheerfully, "Actually, yea I would like that.. I know a really good place not so far from here. Follow me. It's a little bit off the chart and not so crowded, I hope that's alright.". He changed his outward appearance to be more excited and happy, clearly he had not been that person for a long time and it was all a bit of an act for him at this point. He figured that he could score some free food and maybe some good company during lunch so he kept the act up a bit. He turned around and started walking into a side road nearby; it looked a bit lonely, not a lot of people like on the main roads.

As they walked, he tried to strike up a conversation and asked her with a curious tint to his voice, "So.. What brought you to our school and our class?".

Juliette smiled as he agreed to go with her, to show her a place where they could enjoy lunch in each others company. She let him lead the way, ignoring the fact that she could tell he hadn't bathed in the past twenty-four hours. It didn't bother her too much as they walked along the street together. "It's okay." She said after a bit, looking up at him. "I don't like crowds too much, so I don't mind if it's somewhere not many know of." She giggled softly. It was hard to tell if she was acting or serious about it, especially since she didn't say too much.

She went down the smaller road with him, noticing the people were thinning out and before soon, it was just the two of them. Her heart begun beating heavily at that point, making her resist the temptation of biting her lip. She was worried he wasn't going to understand why she was there when she told him, but she knew it wasn't something to worry about too much, at least not yet. "I wanted to get away, I used to live in Tokyo with my mother and step father." She said, making up the story as she went along. "My mother moved there for her career after she left my father." She explained, figuring there was nothing wrong with him knowing a fake story, at least not for now.

"And what about you?" She asked, giving him a soft smile as she moved in against his arm, gently letting her arms around it, hugging it softly as she looked up at him, though making sure they would both be able to walk ahead.

He found himself a bit fascinated over this woman, but thought himself be able to see that she was acting a bit, no one could be so cute as to giggle like a little infatuated girl with a mere stranger. He listened to her story as they walked down the now emptying street. "You used to live in Tokyo huh, I've always wanted to go there, heard many good things about it. Sorry to hear about the sad reason you moved to Tokyo.", he said a little softly as he continued with a bit happier tone, "Well, at least you made your way to a good place. This city is pretty good if you get around to the right parts of it.". HE didn't have any good experiences himself, but he knew that with the right company to keep, it would be one of the better places.

"Me?", he asked, he was not used to actually getting questioned on anything about his life, but he smiled a bit at it, a genuine one at that. His body tensed a bit as she hugged his arm softly. He couldn't quite understand what the deal was with this girl. Why was she so.. affectionate to him of all people? He regretted more and more that he didn't have the time to clean himself this morning. He let himself soften up a bit as he answered her question, "Ah.. You see, I've been living here for quite some time, moving from school to school, simply growing up. My parents passed away when I was in High School, a car accident of some sort, I can't remember much of it, though everyone tells me that I was in it as well. Although I loved my parents, I think I'm repressing my memories of the accident...".

Quickly after he was done speaking, as to rid them of the subject, he exclaimed lightly and said, "Here we are!". They passed a corner and some grey surroundings, then suddenly came out into a small open landscape. It was still surrounded by buildings but they had all been painted in various colors and patterns. In the middle of the plot, there was a small hill, covered in luscious green grass and shrubs, a majestic oak tree in the middle of the hill. Finding something like this in a city... was highly unlikely, but someone had wanted to create a good spot, a good little park like thing to soothe the stressful environment of modern life.

They had clearly wandered into a deserted area, the buildings were empty, slightly falling apart, looking a bit like concrete ruins, it was quiet except for a couple of birds around, a gentle breeze strew throughout the area as well. "So what do you think?", he asked her a bit too excited, but yet he was a bit genuinely excited. As far as he knew, he was but one of the few that knew about this area in the city, as he rarely met anyone at this spot.

Juliette listened patiently to him, smiling and nodding, though looking sad when he mentioned his late parents. "I'm sorry for your loss." She whispered softly to him, obviously not liking that fact. But it couldn't interfere with her task, she couldn't get affectionate with him too soon. And as they moved around the corner, she smiled, letting out a gasp. "It's beautiful." She told him, letting go of his arm, moving forward in long strides, ahead of him onto the green spot. It was obvious to see that she was used to being alone, she didn't notice much around her as she looked around, laughing softly.

"This is amazing." She said as she turned back to him, finally giving him some more attention. "But why would you show me such a beautiful place even when we've only just met?" She asked, worried there might be something wrong. But as she thought about it, she quickly moved to him, putting a hand up in front of his mouth. "Never mind, you don't have to tell me. Let's eat." She said softly, taking his hand and gently dragging him with her to the oak tree, sitting down under the trunk as she put her bag by her side, opening it.

From it, she withdrew two lunch boxes of a standard size, along with chopsticks and napkins. She placed them both in front of her as she sat on her knees, her legs tucked in neatly. "I hope you're okay with rice, chicken and beef. I really want the salmon and shrimp for myself." She giggled, opening both boxes, a mixture of delicate food scents popping out. There was fresh sushi in one of them, in the other it was filled halfways with rice, the rest was mixed with some sauce, beef chops and chicken chops for dipping as she handed him one pair of chopsticks.

"Itadakimasu!" She said suddenly, smiling and giggling before she pulled her chopsticks apart, looking at him expectantly. She was curious to see if he would like it, especially since she'd made it after her arrival the night before, with what little she'd found in a shop.

He slowly walked up to the grass, simply watching her happy reaction to the lonesome but beautiful spot. He laughed a little bit and smiled. He felt himself getting softer and softer, actually enjoying her company. He pondered over her question for a bit, and just as he was about to answer, she silenced his thoughts and actions by simply putting her hand up in front of him, and a warm smile spread across his lips as he was dragged by her to under the oak tree.

As she took out the lunchboxes, he felt and even heard his stomach letting him know it was ready to receive the blessings of nutrition; it's reaction was obvious due to his low intake of breakfast this morning. He sat himself down in front of her, his legs crossed, being not at all as gracious and formal as she was. He didn't really think about it as he was so hungry and not used to actually being formal at all. "That is more then fine! It sounds delicious, I haven't been able to eat beef for quite some time now."

He leaned in and closed his eyes and inhaled, letting his senses be overwhelmed by the scents coming from the lunch box. His mouth watered a bit as he moaned quietly, the scent was overwhelmingly good. He opened his eyes and blushed a bit and smiled stupidly as he chuckled lightly and said, "Sorry about that, it just smelled so good.. Did you really make this yourself?", he asked gently.

He accepted the chopsticks. He wasn't used to handling them but he still had it in him as his parents had taught him at an early age.

He nodded and said warmly back, "Itadakimasu, indeed!", as he somewhat fumbling took some rice and beef and ate it. ... A moan escaped his lips as he savored the flavor and exclaimed, "This is soooo good!". He quickly began to eat more and a bit fast, letting out a small moan of deliciousness every now and then. He couldn't tell if it was because of the hunger that made the food taste so good, but all he knew was that right now, it was the best thing the world had to offer.

Smiling as she heard his stomach, Juliette ignored how he was seated. She couldn't care less about how formal he wanted to be. She just wanted to enjoy his company as she let a soft laugh rip after she'd watched him smell the food. "It's okay." She said, offering a sweet and innocent smile. "I made it all, yes." She said. "Some of it for last night, but I left it in the fridge for today." She told him, blushing a bit at the fact that she'd served him some leftovers.

She could tell he'd learned to use chopsticks already, it pleased her as she never really ate anything except soup without chopsticks. Unless it was a slice of bread, then she had a knife and her hands. She knew that food was usually exotic if prepared well here, especially if it was foreign food. And she'd prepared a traditional Japanese lunch for them even.

Though as she heard his words, she noticed him fumbling as she let out another soft laugh. "I'm really glad you enjoy it." She said, moving her own chopsticks down to grab a sushi roll with salmon, rice and wasabi. She eagerly put it into her mouth, chewing on it as her eyes closed partially. It wasn't that she did it on purpose, it just happened when she chewed and enjoyed her food that she begun closing her eyes, savouring the experience of the meal she was enjoying, though keeping an eye on him too, seeing him enjoy his part of the meal.

It had been a long time since Chris had tasted such well made Japanese food. He was thoroughly enjoying each bite, each flavor, each smell. Although, despite of this, he was finished quite fast, the whole lunch box emptied to a mere few rice grains being left behind. Chris let a moaning sigh escape his lips, letting a wide smile adorn them as well as he laid his chopsticks neatly in the lunchbox, very satisfied by the meal. He saw that Juliette was not done yet, changing his smile to almost a bit like a smirk, but more like he was trying to say sorry or ops in a comical fashion over having eaten his part so fast. "I didn't mean to eat that fast, it was just simply too good to be left alone.", he said, laughing a bit nervously like.

He had been seeing Juliette's expressions in her eyes, of what he could only describe as pleasure and delight of some sort. He smiled at her and bowed, trying to express some formality, as he said, "Thank you for the delicious meal. It was truly enjoyable.". Chris turned himself a bit, laying himself down with his back on the soft, luscious grass, his head towards the oaken tree. He moved his arms to the back of his head. Chris gazed upon the clear blue sky, occasionally seeing a few birds fly by and watched the leaves in the oaken tree shift slightly with the gentle breeze that seldom passed by the small area.

Chris's thoughts drifted slightly into thinking about last night and his prayer. He had prayed to Bastet about his loneliness, then this girl show up out of the blue, and on top of that, seems to be hell bent on actually being with him out of all people. She even had cat ears sewn upon her hat, it was as if Bastet being the cat goddess would have sent a cat servant of some sort... It was all very strange, but he shook his thoughts out of his head, it felt like a ridiculous thought at the time as he was still not a real believer despite his prayer last night.

They still had a little more then an hour until at least Chris were supposed to be back at school and attend his next class. He looked over at Juliette and smiled as he looked her over a bit sneakily. His thoughts kept drifting to her hat and her loose fitting large sweater. It was really warm outside, how could she stand the heat in that thing he wondered... Each to it's own he eventually thought and closed his eyes, enjoying the gentle breeze sweeping over them. "Hey, Juliette.. How come you're hanging out with me of all people?", he asked her softly, very curious about her answer.

Juliette giggled at his expression, nodding and letting it slip as she grabbed a piece of her sushi with prawn. She quickly ate it, shaking her head. "It's okay, I'm just glad you enjoyed it." She said, enjoying his laugh. She could tell he was being honest with her meal, it was that easy by how fast he'd eaten and the moans he'd let go from the taste and from being full. She didn't seem bothered as she slowly begun eating her sushi a bit faster, wanting to be done too.

The sight of him trying to express formality made her laugh softly, her hand moving up to cover her mouth as she still had some rice she was chewing on. "You don't have to be formal with me." She told him softly, seeing him lying down on the grass like that. Though when he begun thinking about Bastet, she was able to understand part of what he thought. She was after all the servant of Bastet and if her name was mentioned in thoughts, that meant the Goddess would have a chance to listen to his thoughts.

Though he eventually dismissed the idea, she was a bit saddened. But that didn't matter to her as she continued eating, knowing how long they had before they had to be back. Though halfways through the box, she put the lid back on along with the chopsticks remaining inside. She wasn't hungry, and then came his question as she turned her head towards him. "I don't know." She shrugged at first. "You seemed like a nice guy, but no one in the class paid any attention to you unless it was something academical you said." She told him as she crawled over to lie next to him. "So I thought that it'd be a shame if you didn't have a friend to hang out with and have fun with." She added, smiling softly.

Chris liked Juliette's laugh, it made him happy. He kept thinking about how nice she were to him, he was starting to soften up a bit to her presence. It was after all a long time since anyone had payed him any attention.

As he laid on the ground, his eyes closed, he simply listened to the sounds around him. He clearly noticed Juliette's box being closed as she finished up. He didn't hear her crawling him to him but he figured she was laying next to him when she spoke. Chris smiled and agreed with a gentle 'Mhmm'. "Ever since I went to high school, things have taken a rather bad turn for my life. Everything around me had dissipated and faded away. My parents, my friends, my studies. I tried to restart everything and making some friends, but it never did work. Kids at that age can be so... cruel for lack of a better word.", he said, forming a saddened smile on his lips as he continued, "Really, ever since high school no one has payed me much real attention and I ended up just focusing on my studies to get somewhere in life.", he ended the heavy drop of story there.

He opened his eyes as he tilted his head, looking at Juliette, smiling at her, as he said with a soft and happy voice, "You're a very kind person Juliette.. I'm really happy that you want to be my friend. I'm sure that we can have a lot of fun, but you will have to excuse me as I'm a bit rusty on interacting and talking with other beings.", he ended a bit playfully.

Chris looked up to the sky again, a couple of light clouds passed the sky slowly, though shortly followed by a couple of heavier clouds. It seemed that the thunderstorm from last night was not quite done yet and planned for another attack, as a soft rumbling could be heard, echoing through their little hideaway. He looked at Juliette and smiled, "Hey Juliette, we might want to move somewhere before we get ourselves soaking wet.", he said with a bit of firmness to his voice as he continued, "It seems like the thunderstorm is coming back to mess with us again.".

Juliette heard him agreeing as she listened to his story afterwards. He seemed to have turned inwards once everyone turned their backs to him and he was left alone. But she figured that losing one's parents would've taken the highest toll. She felt empathy towards him, regretting his loss, even if she barely knew him. "I'm sorry for your loss." She told him, looking over at him for a moment, before smiling at the fact that she was somewhat glad he didn't have another girl he fancied.

"Thank you." She said, blushing when he mentioned she was a kind person and he was happy to be her friend. She couldn't help it, not being used to such compliments. "It's okay, just do what you feel best." She told him, giving a friendly smile before seeing his head roll back to look up at the sky. She did the same, though not to observe the weather, just to relax and watch the cloud formations.

She heard his words, mentioning the weather as she gasped. Like cats, she disliked getting wet, and only ever showered. Any other water, she tended to avoid if she could. "It is?" She asked, biting her lower lip as she sat up, shivering already. "Where do you propose we move to? I don't like to get wet." She told him, looking somewhat curiously at him. She was quick to gather her stuff meanwhile, slipping the two lunch boxes into her shoulderbag before pulling it over by them.

"Don't worry about it. I've gotten by so far. I'm used to it now.", he said with a gentle voice, letting a small sigh escape him.

Chris noticed her severe reaction when she heard him speak about the rain. She was acting just as afraid as any cat would when threatened with rain or a spray of water. Coupled together with her cute little sewn on cat ears on her hat, it suited her and her persona very well. As he had sat himself up, she had already packed their lunchboxes and was already ready to get out of there to escape the rain. He laughed a little at her eagerness to get out of the rain as he smiled at her. "Well, our options are as I can see them, three. We can try for a mad dash towards school and get to class, or we can excuse ourselves this time with the two other options. Either hideout in one or a few of the abandoned buildings here or we could go to my apartment which is not so far from here.", he said happily.

He himself was leaning towards hiding out in one of the abandoned buildings since his apartment was not cleaned for company and not really any place that he would want to show someone, especially a girl he just met, because of its shabby looks. He couldn't afford anything better, so he had to get an apartment a bit away from everything, close to the abandoned district of town where the buildings were a bit bad. Although he did have any normal utilities you can find in an apartment; kitchen with a stove and sink and cooking utensils, a fully functioning bathroom with a shower, clean and running water, and more often then not, working heating.

On the other hand, if they went over to his place, he could take a shower so he wouldn't personally be so badly presentable.

"Let's go to my apartment, I need to take a shower anyway.", he said as he got up, reaching his hand out towards Juliette, looking and smiling at her, offering her his help up to her feet. The rain had begun to trickle slightly as the sky had been overtaken by the dark looking clouds. "Ahhh, dammit. Guess we don't have enough time to get to my apartment, let's hide in a building.", he said with a bit of a sigh as he made his way towards one of the buildings and climbed over a destroyed wall, heading into the mellow and low light of the building.

Smiling, Juliette listened to him, hearing the three options he mentioned. Though it would begin raining, she knew it would take too long to get to the school. The smell of rain was already hitting her sensitive nose, though she knew he wouldn't be able to smell it yet. "I don't know." She muttered, wanting to let him pick where they went.

Though as he mentioned they should go to his apartment, she nodded. "Sure, let's go." She said, taking the offered hand as she moved in close to him, hugging his arm gently while they begun walking, until he stopped and looked up. "We don't?" She asked, gasping softly. She'd hate to get herself wet, though it might help her get close to him, she followed him towards one of the buildings, seeing him climbing over the destroyed wall.

She was quickly after him, her shoulderbag back over her shoulder as she elegantly swung herself over the wall, following him. She had a keen nose though as she took his hand. "Come, I'll find us a place in here." She said with a soft smile, leading him into a run down apartment. It was wrecked by nature's touch, though it looked like a livinroom, the remainder of an old leather couch still in one corner. "It shouldn't get too wet in here." She said, offering him a smile as she moved to sit on the couch, looking up at him.

Chris still found it strange that Juliette held onto his arm while they were walking. Not that he gave it any second thought, in fact it was actually rather nice for him. Since he didn't usually spent his time with other people, his feels easily got snared into her grasp, succumbing to her personality and ways.

Chris looked back to see if she would be able to climb the wall and come inside safely. Much to his surprise, she had already began to swing herself over when he took notice of how graceful she was when she did it. She most certainly used the grace of a cat, moving with such ease and splendor. He chuckled a bit and smiled at her as he said playfully, "Oh, you've been hiding such grace from me huh..".

He smiled as she took his hand, following her to wherever it is that she was heading towards. It seemed like she had found something, but she was new here and this was the first time she had seen this place, how could she already have found something for them? Thoughts were whirling a bit in his head as he blindly followed her lead. Even though he was around these parts every now and then, this house is one he hadn't explored yet, especially not more then just peeking inside.

They shortly arrived at an abandoned apartment, clearly ravaged by nature and time. He looked around a bit, not much was left and it was mostly a dark grey shade everywhere, mixing with the faint light cast into the room, causing it to light up with a radiating sense of rest and solitary. A slight scent of the couch could be detected if one were to discern it. There were clear holes in the wall as well, as if someone had thrashed some of them a bit, one of the walls keeping the outside away, but opened enough to let the sound of soft rain smashing against the ground outside to be heard inside their little hideout.

Chris smiled at her words and replied somewhat excitedly, "I'm sure it will be dry and comfy here. And we can even hear the rain, how wonderful!", while he went over to her and sat down in the couch next to her. The couch was more comfortable then he had thought so he accidentally let out soft moan, his body expressing his delight for the comfortableness of the couch.

"Hey Juliette, this is your first time being here, right? So how come you were able to find this little nice place? Even I haven't been able to find this yet.", he asked her, tilting his head a bit as he looked at her with curious eyes.

Seeing him looking around and hearing the rain, Juliette smiled. Despite how much she despised the rain and water, she enjoyed the sound of it as she suddenly heard his moan when he sat down. She giggled, seeing the delight on his face and how he relaxed easily. She moved over to sit properly next to her, pulling her legs up in front of her, the bag on the other side from him as she put her head out on her knees.

She heard his words, making her flinch for a moment. She looked away, putting on her sad face. "I don't like to talk about it." She admitted to him softly. Though the sound of the rain hammering down outside. She then shock her head. "I can't run from my past." She whispered, moving in against him, lying gently down, her head moving to his chest. "When I was smaller, just after we'd moved to Tokyo, I ran away." She told him, her voice soft, sad. "I spent almost a month, living off scraps in the slum, moving from one broken down apartment to another. I learned to sniff out where someone had left leather couches that I could use to sleep on." She told him.

Even if it was a lie, she played it perfectly as she tried not to look too much at him. "So that's why I knew it was here." She whispered, closing her eyes. She knew it would be part of her story, so she made sure to savour it deep inside her brain, for when he might bring it up again, or she'd have to.

The gently thumping rain outside, the perfect warmth inside the building and the particularly moody and abandoned, lonely environment with no one around for a few blocks created a perfect atmosphere for them to connect to each other in many ways. Chris embraced her gently as she moved in to lay her head on his chest. His emotions swayed a bit, leaning towards wanting to comfort her in any way that would make her happier. She was successfully snaring him into her grasp, playing a bit with his emotions, being all cutesy and cuddly, again and again creating some form of emotional and physical bond between them.

She had been playing her part perfectly, her story seamlessly knitting itself together as he was totally drawn into the atmosphere of the story, getting caught in the emotions as he felt a bit sorry for her.

Chris softly uttered a couple of words, trying to cheer her up as he held her in her arms, "I'm sorry... It can be a good skill to have.. Like if you're going to go couch shopping, maybe you could find the better couch just by sniffing them..", laughing a bit nervously and hoping to strike up something of a laugh from Juliette as well. "At least you don't have to experience that time again. Even if this may feel like that time, since we're in an abandoned building after all.. this time you're not alone at least, I'll be with you every step.", he said softly, almost whispering as if trying to convince her of that she didn't have to be alone again.

The rain had begun to hit a bit harder, the air growing a bit colder as the light darkened slightly. The second coming of the thunderstorm had finally begun to move its main part over them. A low rumble could be heard as the lightning coursed through the clouds. The atmosphere was growing heavier.

Feeling the embrace, Juliette also felt something different, something divine in her head. She knew she'd lied to him, but for some reason, Bastet was accessing her mind, going directly into her. Her Goddess was her protector, but this was something new, she was told that in order to protect her from mistakes, the memories of the lies were planted inside her, a life formed how she wanted it. She was pleased with that as she also felt the many experiences and memories welling up inside her.

Sending a secret prayer to Bastet, she enjoyed the sound of his voice and his words. Though he failed miserably at his joke, she still smiled at his attempt. "Thank you, Chris." She whispered, cuddling herself gently in against him. "You're the first one to say that." She finished, closing her eyes to prevent herself from starting to cry.

Then came the rumble of the thunder and the lightning flashes, she shivered and yelped softly, pulling herself up and in against him. "I'm sorry if I seem like a child, I really hate thunderstorms." She told him, visibly shaking as she heard the rain pound down even harder. She was just glad he was there to hold her, and for once, she felt protected in his arms.

Chris never had any problems with lightning and storms, in fact, he rather enjoyed them. The silence shattering rain, the rumbling and crackling thunder, the dim, darkened and lonelier atmosphere that built up from it. It was all really perfect for a time to just enjoy the surroundings and the situation, and given this particular situation, he was for the first time in a long time, not alone. Because of this, he felt rather... pleasant and happy.

Reacting to Juliette's words he felt a bit like a guardian, a protector, a... boyfriend.. to shelter his girl from the bad things of the world.. It was a most odd feeling for him, but he did enjoy it very much. It felt like he mattered again, a feeling he had not felt for quite a long time, since his high school days.

As Juliette shivered and yelped, pulling herself up even closer and into him, Chris hugged her tighter, embracing and shielding her from the bad thunderstorm. He laughed a little softly and gently responded, "You don't seem like a child at all. We're all a little bit afraid of the thunder, even though some of us won't admit it.", his way of saying it giving off a hint that she was not completely alone in her struggle, even though he was there, perhaps steeling himself and comforting her against their common enemy.

As Juliette was already so close to Chris, almost crawling herself up onto his lap like a cat, he decided to pull her up to his lap to hold and shelter her better. It was a little awkward how she had turned out to sit on him seeing as they still newly met each other a few hours ago. Chris had pulled her up so Juliette sat with her legs on either side of him, facing him. He didn't exactly plan to sit her like that, which caused him to blush lightly, but doing the best of the situation he wrapped his arms around her and held her close, resting his head on her shoulder. He figured that this, if anything, would be one of the better ways to make her feel protected from the thunder, his full embrace guarding her. He ran his hands slowly along her back to give her some more comfort.

Julia was trembling, enjoying how he was hugging her tighter. She knew she had put herself into the situation, but she didn't care. She was enjoying the time there with him as she smiled at his words. She was happy not to be alone, especially with something that she feared so badly. Though as she suddenly felt him moving her around, she gasped, ending up sitting with a leg on either side of his waist, her face towards his. But she deterred for now, it wasn't the right time, no matter how romantic a thunderstorm might be, she just pushed herself in against him, her arms moving around his neck, gently playing with the hair by his neck. She put her head in against his shoulder too, her breathing slightly erratic from the fear pulsing through her body.

Though she slowly seemed to calm down, she could tell something was different. She wasn't paying attention to the thunderstorm anymore, she was paying her full attention to Chris, to sitting in his lap as she turned her head, being able to kiss him on the cheek, she took the opportunity, placing her lips only briefly to his skin, though it sent chills down her spine and she felt her stomach get uneasy from it, she knew it was because of him. "Thank you, Chris." She whispered softly, innocently as she cuddled against him.

She didn't seem to care about the position they sat in. She just wanted to be close to him, to feel his arms around her and hold her tight, in truth, she had longed for a man worthy of her time. Even when she'd been with Bastet, she'd wanted someone who wasn't there to satisfy her sexually, she wanted someone who could satisfy her emotions too. And for some reason, Chris was doing just that, protecting her from what she feared and holding her close. Even as she felt his hand alowly along her back, she couldn't help but giggle softly. "It's good no one comes here, if they did they might think we were up to something." She whispered, laughing softly, trying to defuse the tension between them.

Chris noticed how Juliette was calming down, it caused him to fire off a gentle smile. He closed his eyes as he listened to her still erratic and scared breathing, felt and heard her a bit quickly beating heart. It was a perfectly romantic moment, he stopped caring about the rain, the thunder or even the slightly chilly air. All he could feel and take notice of was Juliette right now, feeling his efforts having a good, calming effect on her.

Suddenly, her warm lips pressed against his cheek briefly. His eyes opened up a bit surprised as he blushed ever so lightly. Her thankful words reached him quickly, a smile spread across his lips as he nodded softly and responded with a happy, "Mhmm.".

Chris laughed softly together with Juliette as she told him that what they were doing would look strange to someone else, as he nodded and said a bit softly, "Yea. I think it would make others feel a bit... awkward if they saw it.. I'm happy this area is so desolate as it is. We could really do whatever we want without anyone knowing anything.", he didn't care that it gave off a playfully specific vibe, as his mind was not thinking like that right now. Chris was simply thinking about what he had explored and done in a few of the other abandoned buildings around the area. He had found a couple of places that were like the one they were in like now, ravaged by nature, a couple of furniture still laying around, a lonesome atmosphere to say the least. Further up into one of the buildings he had explored, he had even painted some of the walls, practicing some of his not bad but not good artistic skills.

Suddenly, the rain was clearly softening outside, diminishing as the thunder started to grow more distant. The thunderstorm was beginning to pass away from them. Light was one again slowly filling their surroundings, banishing the dimmed, grey atmosphere with playful rays of warm light. Soon they would be able to move about back to school and attend the last class. Chris loosened his hug a bit as the storm had almost passed, the danger had passed by them, leaving them unscathed. "We made it through another storm huh.", he said a bit happily and smiled warmly.

Juliette had noticed him blushing, enjoying the fact that she had that effect on him. She heard his words, nodding at the playful vibe. She didn't mind it, though in her mind it meant that they could do all that they'd want there. And though there was stuff she wanted, she didn't want to push it too fast. "Yea, or just come here and hang out, relax and do homework." She said, smiling as she laid herself in against him again. She was glad to have found him, glad for the entire mission she'd been sent on and even praising the thunderstorm for having been there.

Though hearing the weather subside, she felt a longing. She didn't want it to end yet, she wanted to stay more with him like that. Though he loosened the hug, and she knew it was time to get back up. "Yea, that's good." She replied with a soft smile, her eyes shining softly as she slowly moved back, looking down at him. "You know, it's really odd how you've been so distant from others. You're really cute and sweet." She told him, smiling as she let her hands gently onto his chest, adding a bit of pressure to keep herself up in her seated position.

She was tempted in those moments, wanting to take it further, though restraining herself, she just let her fingers curl into his shirt, grasping the fabric softly. She knew that humans didn't like when others were too hasty, and she knew that with her secret, it would only hurt her more if she was hasty and he didn't like it. So as she sat there, fighting her own will, she was shivering lightly, biting her lower lip in a cute way, hoping he would enjoy her comments on him, and hoping even more that he would respond to her in a way she would understand as him wanting more of her like she wanted more of him.
