Cyrus gave a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair. Here he was, twenty and the legal guardian of his little sister. Now don't get Cyrus wrong, he loved his sister more than any other person in the world and would have been ecstatic to have her with him under any other circumstance. The death of their parents though.... that was something he'd never wanted to happen. What had made all of this even worse was the fact that Cyrus was forced to leave before his sister in order to make sure all the paperwork went through to legally make the girl his charge, and it'd been hell being apart for the few days it'd been.

Mom, Dad.... Please watch after us okay? Just help me look after my sister the way I'm supposed to

With that the young man climbed out of his car and walked into the train station. His looks probably drew a bit more than a few eyes on the way. 6'2 feet tall, messy brown hair with a bit of stubble on his chin, and his casual choice of clothing in a hoodie and sneakers. There were tired dark circles under his eyes as well, showing he hadn't slept well since the incident that claimed their parents.

Finding the platform that would house the train his sisters were coming in on Cyrus leaned up against a nearby pillar. Rolling up his sleeve to check his watch it showed that the train should be coming in any moment now. He really didn't want to have to wait any longer to see his baby sister, they'd already been apart for too long.

I really hope the train doesn't take too long, it's almost the dead of winter and way too damn cold to stand out here for a while

Ferne got off the train, she was still in her school uniforms, she wore it almost every where, it was her stranded go to outfit, but with mom and dad gone, an her going live with her brother she had no need of it any more, but it just seem like the thing to do. she wore it every day when mom and dad was alive, why change it now.

Her hair was longer then last time she saw her brother, she Wondered if he notice or recognize her now that she was older.

she did not know how to handle the loss, she was more worried about how this was going to change how she lived her life, she was nowhere near her friends, she was going to start going to a new school, she was going to be living with her brother that she has not seen in years. her whole world was caving in on her.

then the train came to a stop and she had to disembark the train.
the Train conductor help her with her bag off the train onto the platform but from that point on she was on her own.

she was alone and far from home and she did not like it. all she could do now was wait for her brother. cause she did not know what he look like know either.

she wheeled her bag to a near by bench and sat down. she wanted to cry, but not here not now. it was too public a place for that.

Cyrus had finished up feeling sorry for himself and had immediately started to look for his sister Ferne as soon as the train had come to a full stop at the station. The crowds has ended up nearly too thick however, and he really couldn't continue searching until it had died down a bit.

Once that had ended up happening however he saw his baby sister in her school uniform taking a seat on a nearby bench, and started to walk over to where she was.

'She's still wearing the uniform I see... Had almost hopped that wouldn't be the case. Is she holding onto it because it reminds her of when our parents were still here? Bah, it's not my place to pry about it. If it's something that can make her feel a bit better it's good enough for me

Pausing in front of his sister Cyrus gave the girl a soft smile. "Hey Ferne, how you been kiddo?"

Ferne gave her brother a smile, but it was only to keep up appearance that she was a happy teenage girl, but her heart was very heavy and all she could do was go thru the motions that she was happy to see her brother.

"Hey Brother, good to see you too, could you help with my bag, it's heavy and the train ride was a long one." she said as she got up, she was not sure if she should hug him. she would normally be a very huggy person, but she did not know her brother like she once did and was not sure if it was the right thing to do.

For the most part right now she just wanted to keep her distance, it just seem like the right thing to do at the moment.

"Uh, yeah sure kiddo. No problem" Cyrus said as he bent down to pick up his sister's bag. He'd actually somewhat expected her to be a bit more... open to him? The somewhat cold and distant greeting was kinda painful

After waiting for a few moments to think about everything Cyrus nodded towards the exit. "My car is right outside, why don't we go ahead and head back to the apartment? It'll be a better place to... talk about everything." Trailing off, not really wanting to mention their parents just yet.

Walking out of the station Cyrus lead Ferne to his car, tossing her bag in the back and making sure the girl was safe up front with him he started the car and they were on their way.

Ferne got into the car, she just did not know how to deal with all her feeling and so she just shut down, this was maybe what she acting so cold, but she was feeling numb on the inside and she just was not sure of anything at the moment.

" Brother, what's you place like?" she ask trying to at lest connect a little bit to her only remaining family that she had at the moment.

She was not sure how her brother could be so strong at this time in their lives, but he was was the oldest and while he could have stayed in town and found work closer to the family, he decided to move to the city and make his life there. She did not even know if she could do that, she most likely would have stayed at home till she was either done school or her parents kick her out, but neither of those thing happen. again she felt down as she thought about her mom and dad. they did not even get a chance to meet the Guy she was seeing, while not her boyfriend, he had the making of being a boyfriend material.

Maybe she call Mark if it did not cost to much, she needed some one to connect too and he was the last real close connection she had back home.
