Aubree checked her phone one last time before slipping it into her handbag and walking out the door. Her husband was out of town for the next two days, which meant her time would be spent at the bar, drinking away her sorrows as she tried to hold onto her old self. When she had first met Chris, he was perfect. He was older, successful, handsome. What else could a college aged girl have wanted? She appreciated his maturity, and even abandoned her wild, party girl side so she could appeal more to him. She seemed to grow up almost instantly, no longer going out and drinking with her friends. The time that wasn't spent with him was focused on her studies, and now that she had graduated, the two married and she was given the option of working from home to help run his business.
At first, she loved it. She didn't have to leave the comfort of their marvelous home to go to work. However, as the months passed after their marriage, she soon started to wonder if perhaps she had moved to quickly. Chris was out of town half the time. When he wasn't, he worked late. He no longer devoted time to her as he had done when they first started dating. She soon began to grow bored of sitting at home all day, but had no where else to go. She had no friends in town, and she had practically abandoned all of her college friendships after meeting Chris.
She simply grew up too fast to be with him, and now at 23 years old, she was starting to regret it.
He hadn't yet found out about her nights on the town. She knew if he did, he would be less than pleased. It had been going on for a good two weeks or so. While he was out on business or working late, she would slip to the bar to enjoy a few drinks, a couple of dirty dances. It didn't completely satisfy her craving of being the same wild child she had once been, but it helped temporarily.
The cab ride there was only about ten minutes. Tipping the driver, she grabbed her bag and walked into the building, a few heads turning her way as she made her way to the bar. Her blonde hair was curled and hanging loosely at the middle of her back, her tight black dress accenting her curves in all the right places. Ignoring the stares, she went on to take care of her first task, getting a drink. Spotting an empty stool, she took her place, carefully considering what she wanted to start out with as she waited for the bartender to come to her.
