The sky was riddled with dark clouds, as a cold, damp fog filled the streets. The only sounds being that of the foot steps made by one lone boy. A young man, in his teens, about 18 years of age. Strong, healthy. He was tall, and fit. He sometimes joked that he couldn't gain fat even if he tried. He had long, untamed hair. He has blue eyes, and wore a pair of round glasses. He was a intimidating person, but distant. Just like the distance within this fog, he preferred to be unseen. Unnoticed. And, if he was, it was not good attention. It was either a fight, or a screaming match with a teacher. Other people looked down on him. Delinquent they call him. A good for nothing... There are the few he can say don't look down on him, or pity him. But he couldn't exactly call them friends. More like, the weird father, and the follower. And speaking of followers....
"Katsuo!" A voice said from behind. The boy turned around, and starred off at the distance. Slowly he can make out who it was... "Stop following me, you stalker." Katsuo said coldly, as he turned around. He began to walk back down the road, ignoring the girl whom was sprinting after him. "But Katsuo! Its me, Akira!" The girl screamed, without missing a beat. "I know, thats why I said get lost." Katsuo retorted. She made her way to him. Wrapping her arm around his, walking at his side. "Why must you always walk home with me..." Katsuo asked, with a exasperated sigh. "Because I insist!" She then gripped around his arm tighter. Like a constrictor whom catches there prey. Her name was Akira, that so called follower mentioned before. She is his neighbor, and has been inseparable from him since they were 8 years old. It used to be that she bullied him, Kept his self esteem way low. This was of course before he matured into the punk he is now. She probably would still despise him, or at least pretend to, if it wasn't for that day.....
Katsuo continued to begrudgingly walk with her to his house. She rest's her head on his shoulder, slowly humming as they walked along. He looked down at her. Looking at her as she clung to him like a little sister he never had. She was short. Her head only reached his shoulder. She had red, flowing hair. And great big brown eyes, that made the cutest puppy dog eyes... He didn't hate her. In fact, Katsuo found her rather cute and funny. Even if she always pestered him. He just never understood her, or her feelings towards him. soon, they came along their houses. "OK, time to unglue yourself to me, and let me go home." Katsuo said, as he pulled his arm away. "Oh.. I was just about ready to sleep on your shoulder." She said, as she pouted all the way to her house. Just before walking inside, she turned around, and with a great big smile... "Happy birthday Katsuo." And then she was gone. That made Katsuo smile just a bit, but he would never let her know that. He then turned back to his house, and walked inside.
"Hey, old man! Im home." Katsuo shouted as he tossed his book bag to the side of the front door. "Welcome home sun, How was school?" His father asked, as he walked out in a pink apron. A pot full of dough in one hand, and a spoon in the other. "....What the hell are you wearing?" Katsuo asked with frustration. "Oh, I thought i would make you a birthday cake." His father answered, as he tugged on the apron a bit. "I bought this today in case i made a mess. I didn't want to wear the cake all over me." Katsuo gritted his teeth at his father. "Your such a idiot. I mean, seriously. Dont sacrifice your man card so you can play mom and dad. I mean.. Really, who was the man in the relationship. You, or mom?" Most dads would get angry, and curse back at their disrespectful son. But, he just shrugged it off, and answered honestly. "Your mom was the man in our relationship." He then turned around and walked back into the kitchen. mixing the dough all the way back. Katsuo was shocked. "Why did i even ask.." He said as he shook his head.
Katsuo then made his way up to his room. He threw his tie into the corner of the room, as he unbuttoned his shirt. He walked over to his dresser. Pulling out a fresh pair of clothes. Then taking them into the bathroom. " A hot shower is what i need... To calm my nerves." He said. As he took off his pants. He walked into the shower, and began to stand there, as he let the hot water hit his skin.. He began to scrub himself off slowly. Cleaning off all the dirt and grime from his full day. But also taking the chance of peace and quiet. So he could reflect on things. Life wasn't easy for him. He grew up without a mother, And with a sham of a father. He never knew who she was.. What she did.. Not even a single thing about her. All he can get out of his sad, lonely father was her name. Lilith. The fate of his mother has eaten always eaten away at him. Was it really his fault, no. But did he blame himself, yes. Just because he was an infant, did not change the fact that she died bringing him into the world. And what a sad lesson, for a child to learn so early on in life.
